Having one of your cards selected for publication, never becomes less of a thrill. It’s some of the best news to get!
This card is in the July 2014 issue of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking, on page 23, to be exact. I highly recommend checking it out there because their photography & write up makes it look amazing! 😉 AND because, you cannot read this magazine without being inspired. It’s a bit of a problem if you read PC & S before you go to bed…you just want to get up and make something!
Anywhoozle, I made this card for the “sketch” call–and being the July call, well, you get my choices of stamps and colors. Though this could be so easily modified to use any colors for a variety of occasions. The stitching was tricky, but it all came together 🙂
…and huge thanks to everyone for their support on Gallery Idol 2014! Be sure to vote on the amazing top 10!

This was my entry to Round 3 of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Gallery Idol 2014! The theme was stencils. Well, I don’t have many stencils. What’s a girl to do? Make one! So I did. Then I inked these ovals overlapping, to create a fun blended ink/bokeh effect. Then I had to stamp, die cut and stitch…always agonizing when there is no room for error! Ahhh! The term AwesomeSauce just cracks me up, so I used that. Hope you got a laugh too 🙂 Oh, and I inked the card base edge to match perfectly, using the same gray ink.
I just know the other 14 talented ladies in this contest are going to rock this round too!
I’d appreciate a shout out by casting your vote for my card. I’m enjoying the challenges!

This was my entry to Round 2 of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Gallery Idol 2014! The theme was die cuts. Oh geez, I panicked (well first I had a stomach ache from the excitement, then I panicked, lol) as I haven’t had my die cutting machine but 9 months maybe? Mmmmm…No time to panic. Cut. Create. I came up with this card. The hardest parts were: a) picking what colors to use (endless combos I thought) and b) die cutting all those chevron pieces….over…and over…and over. OH and finding everything on my paper bit covered desk! 🙂 But it came together in the end. Phew!
The other entries were stellar, to say the least…and somehow I made it through to the Top 15! I’m pretty sure that “somehow” was because of a HUGE leg up from family and friends votes. Many thanks!
Thanks for popping in…Be awesome!

This was my entry to Round 1 of Gallery Idol 2014! The theme was washi tape, so I tried to think of an interesting way to use it. I wrapped it around these mini Popsicle sticks 🙂 I love how different directions and overlapping methods add so much, so simply. I was giddy-over the top-excited-elated to be selected as one in a top 20 group that are uber talented…amongst many (many!!) of the other 400 submissions.
Thanks for popping in…Jill 🙂
