MFT Color Challenge #18!

MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_18Today starts Color Challenge #18 on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog… I can’t emphasize enough how fun these color combos are once you start working on them! πŸ˜‰

We continue our collaboration with SRM Stickers this month. I went with this little bag and masked it to stamp on. Turned out sooooooo fun! πŸ˜‰ SRM’s little treat bags and containers are oh so very cute. They make me want to just make treats to make cute receptacles for such! LOL πŸ™‚

Head over to cardchallenges.com today & find out all the details! Here’s a peek: hawkins_jill_CC18_00_wmI whipped up another card for this combo. This one is for my “nephew” as he turns FIVE! Where does time go!? This is now belated, but I actually had it made before his big day. Impressive for me! ha! Hope it’s still cool to have Peeps at FIVE! Happy Birthday D!

MFT Sketch #221…

photoSketch Challenge #221 takes off today on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog!! Be sure to head over and see all the DT cards–sure to be fabulous!

Here’s a peek at my card this week: Jellybeans! On. A. Cake! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_sketch 221_0_wmHere’s the sketch πŸ™‚ (My card above sort of mixes up the elements a bit. ha!)MFT_WSC_221Fortunately, I was able to make a bonus card! Here it is! πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_sketch 221_01_wmI laugh while I’m making inlaid cards. I don’t know if I do things backwards or the hard way or what, but it’s a process! I sometimes think I do it backwards, but I think that’s the way you have to do it? Honestly, I often make things as I go, so maybe that’s it? πŸ˜‰ Either way, I laugh A LOT. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_sketch 221_001_wmNaturally, I added the Peep. It is Peep season after all, right? Oh, and this sentiment combines two sentiments together. Another habit πŸ˜‰

This card is made with the following supplies at My Favorite Things: Blueprints #23, In & Out Diagonally Stitched Rectangles, Die-namics Candy Jars, Stitched Circle STAX, LJD All My Love (dies), BG Diagonal Stripes,Β Candy Jar Companions, Totally Happy,Β  (stamps), Razzleberry, Tickled Pink, After Midnight, Steel Blue (Card Stock), Black Licorice (hybrid ink), Steel Blue (dye ink) πŸ™‚

And it’s our last sketch with Kelly Griglione guesting on the Challenge blog! Kelly seriously has made some awesome this month! geesh, good stuff. πŸ™‚

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

It’s another Sweet Sunday for the Sketch Challenge! I hope you have had a chance to play along! I loved the wonky panel last week….and this week, I went a lil’ rogue?! πŸ™‚

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-0IkMXMpiFnM/VPOAKe6J0fI/AAAAAAAAP2c/7gum2ykp49s/s200/SSSC_Grab-It.jpgsweet sunday 261This week’s Sketch is #261. You can check out the full post and ALL the creative cards (and link up) on the Sweet Sunday Sketch Blog. Here’s my card for the week! πŸ™‚ hawkins_jill_fav peeps_wmhawkins_jill_fav peeps_01_wmI resisted every little bone in my body telling me to inlay this tag! I really wanted to “stencil” the stamping and then emboss it. and I DID! πŸ™‚ Yea! I did inlay the circle at the top of the tag though. *wink*

The Peep from MFT makes me cookoo happy!! πŸ™‚ I can’t believe I hadn’t stamped the little guy yet, only die cut him (a hundred times). So, what does one do then? Stamp him a couple dozen times to make up for it. Ha!! I started out making this and thinking, this would never float. I really don’t gravitate toward pastels (aka, the use of purple) ever. But hot dog: I like it, I really like it! It all comes back to the Peep. LOVE the PEEP!! πŸ™‚ I’m branchin’ out people! LOL.

This card was made with the following supplies by My Favorite Things: Die-namics In & Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle STAX, Stitched Trad Tag STAX, Stitched Circle STAX (dies), Candy Jar Companion (stamps), Lemon Drop, Limelight, Wild Wisteria, Black Licorice (hybrid inks), Summer Splash, Ripe Raspberry (dye inks), Smooth White (card stock), embossing pad. I mixed ink types! Livin’ on the edge. πŸ˜‰

You can find all the past sketches HERE.

Thanks for swinging by for the fun today! Hope you’ll join us!

So so close…

Today I’m sharing a card set that was due for publication in Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine’s Card Creations, Volume 13. I worked really hard on these several months back, and I was pretty darn excited to have that happen. But…well, you know the story. Whaaa whaa…. 😦 Susan was so patient with clueless me too- THAT was fun and joyful in itself πŸ™‚

Anywho–let that not taint the fact that I’m so glad my work paid off and I adore these stamp sets!! Squeeeeee! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_all fourhawkins_jill_hi there_JPGhawkins_jill_hi again_hawkins_jill_hi friend_hawkins_jill_hi buddy_…Love me some Paper Smooches and Lawn Fawn! And the people who make them! πŸ™‚

I had to remake these panels several dozens many many times over to get the stamping just right, straight and non-smudgey. ha! I’m thinking that coveted MISTI tool would probably make this a breeze, but these were made “old school”. πŸ™‚

Part of the assignment was to make a container for the cards, so I painted up the box/tag to go along with them.

I’m including this for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge this week–Anything Goes! I’ve been missing participating in these πŸ™‚

photoSketch Challenge #220 launches today on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog!!

Here’s a peek at my card this week: I could piece these chevrons ALL DAY! Love ’em!

hawkins_jill_sketch 220_01_wmHere’s the sketch πŸ™‚ MFT_WSC_220Here’s another take on this sketch. I sort of reversed the shapes on this one…circles for rectangle, rectangle for circle πŸ™‚ Again, with the stripes. I decided I can’t stop. I just love them too much πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_sketch 220_0_wmhawkins_jill_sketch 220_00_wmThis is one of those cards when you have an idea in your head & then you end up with a different result that wasn’t quite your vision. Oh well. I enjoyed making it nonetheless. πŸ˜‰
