I love to die cut the die cut and die cut that die cut. That’s the quick version of how I made this panel. πŸ™‚ hawkins_jill_you amaze me_00_wmHere’s the Sketch for the week:

Inspired by Photography…

PrintToday is another Inspirational on the MFT Blog…Certain to be a good read! This day is all about being inspired by Art.

I am an avid fan of black and white photography. Heck, photography in general I completely enjoy. This is one of my all time favorites: “Chicago” by Jerome Hawkins.

Chicago-OPJerome (Pat) Hawkins happens to be my father-in-law, but he wasn’t at the time I purchased this photograph ;). Just love this one so. It was the only piece of real art I owned back then. His photographs are all meticulously done with perfection. I do not have that much patience. Ever. πŸ™‚ Plus: Chicago.

Take a minute to check out Mr. Hawkins other photographs. πŸ™‚

Here’s a card I was inspired to make:

HAWKINS_JILL_youre the man_wmI enjoy using lots of fun color combos, but I am also a HUGE fan of the gray scale. I wanted to keep this card simple, like the amazing photograph. Plus, I think these spiffy ties are fitting for a city setting–fancy like. πŸ™‚

PrintToday is Inspirational Day two on the MFT Blog…Go check it out!

I enjoy this quote by Dr. Suess. It is so simple, but if you stop and think, it makes you wonder. πŸ™‚ It is so fitting for kids and for myself. Plus, I think it’s a great motto to be sure and do both. I find myself doing this every time I sit down to make a project. Thinking about what I want to make and then wonder how I can use this or that. It’s both deep and simply practical right? πŸ™‚ Plus I freaking love this graphic Laina made. Ahhhh…. πŸ™‚

MFT_InspiredBy_SuessHere’s a card I was inspired to make:

hawkins_jill_congratssqueal_wmI thought this would be a super cute card for a kiddo! That lil’ squeal! πŸ™‚

You deserve a Sweet Sunday…

SSSC_Grab-ItSweet Sunday for the Sketch Challenge!! #268!! Such a fun variety of styles–go see what the team made on the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge Blog!

Here’s my card:

hawkins_jill_grateful_wmThis Build-able Blooms set has met the ink in my world. I think these stamps are officially smokin’ from the use they’ve gotten in the last week. And I just received a couple new ink pads, so I think they better get ready for round two! I’m not a “flower” person per say. I like flowers, I like what others make with flowers, but they just don’t seem to be my *thing*. But now!? Bwaaah! πŸ™‚ Maybe I’ve finally met the *right* flower? Oh I laugh! πŸ™‚

Here’s the Sketch for the week:

Happy Mom’s Day!

I thought I’d share a couple of cards I made for a friend to give on Mother’s Day. I need a few dozen more of this one! πŸ™‚ If only I didn’t need to sleep…hmmmm…

hawkins_jill_love you_n_00_wm hawkins_jill_love you_n_-wmAnd then I mixed it up a bit on the second… πŸ˜‰ This dark card stock is Nightshift. In person, it looks much more dark navy than these photos suggest. Love it! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_love you_w_wm hawkins_jill_love you_w_00_wmThey turned out pretty fun…and they are nice to leave around after the *holiday*. I hope they are enjoyed πŸ™‚

Happy Mom’s Day! I hope to sleep til at least 7 a.m. myself. Fingers crossed! πŸ˜‰
