photoMFT Sketch Challenge #252 begins rockin’ on the My Favorite Things Challenge & InspirationΒ Blog!

This week’s sketch:

MFT_WSC_252Here is my take this week:

hawkins_jill_you are cool_wmYum! I am a big fan of all Laina Lamb’s designs each month. They are always delicious aren’t they!? I may need to make a card with all of them on it! Hmm and mmmm! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_you are cool_00_wmI pieced together different strips of card stock and then die cut it all with the Snow Drifts Cover-up. Another one I can’t stop using! πŸ™‚

I squeezed in a second card this week because: Halloween!!!

hawkins_jill_trick or treat_00_wm I went a little STAR crazy on this one. If I had more time to redo, I’d have omitted the stars from the Trick or Treat die cut. But, alas, had to catch the daylight to photograph. πŸ˜‰hawkins_jill_trick or treat_wmHappy Halloween! Trick or Treat’ers, Enjoy!! πŸ™‚

Oh Snap

I completed another full card with an image I colored for The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge!

This card is (unfortunately) perfect for someone we love, who recently broke a bone. 😦 Ack.

hawkins_jill_oh snap_wm These little Lawn Fawn sets are so stinkin’ cute. πŸ˜‰hawkins_jill_oh snap_00_wmI used the Jumbo Stitched Fishtail Banner STAX from MFT to frame the cuteness. And the PP is from Lawn Fawn too πŸ˜‰

S’more-ing

In keeping up with Kathy Racoosin’s: The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge, I colored these little S’mores from Lawn Fawn. Fun and cute!

AND the kicker: I made it into a complete card!! whoooohooo!!

hawkins_jill_smore_wmI mean, the S’more is winking!! πŸ™‚ Fabulous!

hawkins_jill_smore_00_wmI also used the Stitched Circle Frames from MFT to make this card shaped. πŸ™‚ Weee!

MFT Color Challenge #32

It’s the 2nd Thursday of the month! That means Color Challenge #32 is on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog!

MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_32Here’s my card for the week:

hawkins_jill_let it snow_00_wm(This stinker was so oddly challenging to photograph.)

I think these little dies to the Winter Wonderland set are so fun on their own. You get double duty from your die sets this way! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_let it snow_wmI made a quick tag (& added a little sparkle!) with some of my remaining die cuts. Have I mentioned my love of the Sketched Chevron Background? I think I’ve used it on just about everything since it arrived in my house. LOL πŸ™‚

MFT Sketch #251 + Tag

photoMFT Sketch Challenge #251 begins today on the My Favorite Things Challenge & InspirationΒ Blog!

This week’s sketch:MFT_WSC_251Here is my take this week:

hawkins_jill_merry_wmI used watercolors on the background here and then used watercolors some more. This one is growing on me a little. I generally like things simpler, less busy. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_merry_00_wmI didn’t get to make a second card for this Sketch. But I did make a fun tag for a little friend’s birthday party last week. So I’ll share that πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_wish big_wmI don’t think the sequin’s glue was dry when I took this photo, but the rain was coming and it was getting dark out! Must have natural light! Haaaa! πŸ™‚ Anywho, I wrote the little girl’s name in the blank space, tied it on the kraft bag, and voila! πŸ™‚

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #291!Β  Hope you’ll check out all the other projects the team made and join us! πŸ™‚

Here’s this week’s sketch:

Here is my card for the week:

hawkins_jill_warm wishes_wmOverall, I don’t have the die cuts for many of the stamps sets. But I splurged to get this one and I’m glad I did! I think I may need to acquire the London Mouse set too. Because, I love to die cut the buildings. πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_warm wishes_00_wmThe new Die-namics, Basic Stitch Lines is awesome. Just sayin’. πŸ™‚

The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge! :)

I’ve been really trying to keep up with Kathy Racoosin’s: The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge. I think the idea is brilliant and I’ve always enjoyed seeing what people make and how they keep up. Well, I thought I’d give it a whirl! πŸ™‚

This card below is what I started on day #14, and finished on day #15. I used the Jumbo Dot Cover-Up as a stencil and colored those in with Watercolor pencils. Didn’t know where this card was going when I started, but this is where I landed. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_happy season_00_wmI think this is the first card I’ve actually completed for the 30 Day Color Challenge? I’m good with that. It’s more about the coloring, trying, and experimenting for me anyway. Plus, the good news is, I have a lot of bits in the hopper for future cards! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_happy season_wmKathy is amazing at coloring. Geesh.

Top Dog Dies: Guest!! :)

I am so happy Top Dog Dies invited me back to Guest Design some projects for their October release! I enjoyed it so much, I made FIVE projects. You’ll want to hop over to their blog and read my full post there to learn more about each of these projects! πŸ™‚

The first project I made using the Spiders Die Set.

hawkins_jill_spider1_600hawkins_jill_spider2_600Next up is a project I made using Ghost Die set. Smiling Ghosts: Yes, Please. Super cute.

hawkins_jill_boo2_600I love the little pierced holes outlining them.

hawkins_jill_boo1_600The next projects I made are these drink straws. I am a total *sucker* for paper straws. πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_straw2_600 hawkins_jill_straw1_600Moving right along to a caffeine fix, ha ha! This next card is one of my favorites. I used the previously released Coffee Cup and Finishers die set, along with the Ghost and Spiders die sets. Ahhh, I die. *wink wink* hawkins_jill_coffee2_600hawkins_jill_coffee1_600

And last, but certainly not least… I leave you with one last card today, drawing attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I am a firm believer in educating oneself on the topic, and October is a fine month to make it a priority. I made this card to remind everyone:

hawkins_jill_boobs1_600The die from the Ghost set says Boo, but I got to thinking about adding another B and S. Boom. Love Yo’ Boobs! πŸ˜‰

Once again, I used the Coffee Cup and Finishers set, along with the new Borders #2 die set. I also had to blend on some ink to the lid. πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_boobs2_600I want to send a very big Thank You out to Top Dog Dies for having me back to Guest Design this month. I enjoy their fun dies in a BIG WAY and I’m grateful they asked me to give them a spin this month! Halloween FUN!!

Thank YOU for popping by today! Be sure to hop over to Top Dog Die’s Blog to read my full post there! πŸ™‚

MFT Sketch #250 AND Holiday Tag!

photoMFT Sketch Challenge #250 begins on the My Favorite Things Challenge & InspirationΒ Blog today!

This week’s sketch:

MFT_WSC_250Here is my take this week:

hawkins_jill_elfie_wmI sort of stretched the center panels wider and shifted the feature element (in this case, the Elf’s selfie) to the side. I then used the letters for the banner element. Just a little creative interpretation right? πŸ™‚

*elfie! I still giggle.

hawkins_jill_elfie_00_wmThis week is also an exciting, fun-filled Handmade Holiday celebration on the MFT Blog!

PrintBe sure to hop over there and catch up! Today, there are Tags-O-Plenty from several members of the Design Teams. I love tags! Here is my contribution:

hawkins_jill_joy tag_reWMOh my word–How much do I love the way the Four Way Chevron die cut with the Snow Drifts Cover Up and then with the Stitched Tag. I pulled it out of my machine after all the cutting, and just sort of gasped! LOL πŸ™‚ Be sure to go join in the fun!
