jill_dinosaur-die3

This little guy is the new Dinosaur Die! I so ❤ him! or her! 🙂 He has already been die cut A LOT around here! jill_dinosaur-die3_00

I also used the newly released sentiment set Huge Hugs 2 and the Tag Stitched die.

You can check out the whole new release HERE! It really is full of creative new (and super cute) goodies! I love that the shaped dies are so different from any die I have used before. 🙂

Happy very-soon-to-be-March!!

Take care- Jill 🙂

Oh, Deer

I was excited to ink up these new little cutie deer from the new Ellen Hutson Oh Deer set last night. I was anxiously awaiting Julie Ebersole’s new sets, and of course, she did not disappoint. 🙂

I say “oh dear” a lot, and I thought it would be punny to make a little *party animal* scene. 🙂

hawkins_jill-oh-deer I used a silver ink to stamp the background “confetti”, but when it was all said and done, it doesn’t have the sparkle I was hoping for. That’s ok, it’s still festive looking! Especially because she has lost control of her party hat. Haaaa! 🙂hawkins_jill-oh-deer_00

I also used Ellen Hutson’s Bear Ware and dies for the fun party hats and cupcake! I clear heat embossed and colored on Bristol paper with my Zig markers, before die cutting everything out. I then used some Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink for the aqua background.

I’m entering this in the Essentials by Ellen February Pin-Sights Challenge. Check it out. I always love the jump start of inspiration!

Aqua is always good thing! 🙂

Paper Smooches Sweets!

It’s Friday, and soon the end of February? What!? Wow!

(If you are in search of my Paper Smooches DT Hop post, scroll down, or click HERE.) 🙂

I thought I’d pop back in sharing some yummy cards using Paper Smooches! I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want a giant sweet after making these. LOL 🙂

This sentiment is from the new Let’s Celebrate stamp set.

jill_sweets-dies

Yum! For this lollipop card above, I used my favorite technique of lining up paper strips and die cutting through them. It is a little time-consuming to glue all the strips down, but SO worth it! I feel like I get a fun result every time. I probably wouldn’t do it again with a fine die (haaaaa!), but it all worked out. 🙂

jill_sweets-dies2_00

A sweet card for someone sweet 😉jill_sweets-dies2

These treats are made from the new PS Sweet Dies. For this little cake card, I also used the recently released, For You Tag die. I love the little size of it! 🙂

Have an awesome weekend! Thanks for popping in!

Take care- Jill 🙂

For my project, I used the soon to be released Cat & Dog Card Dies! Shaped cards? YES please!!  I chose to make a cute kitty for my first go: Those eyelashes! ❤

jill_cat-dog-card-die
I kept this one pretty simple because the dies do all the work. Love that! I added some big googley eyes for added fun. 🙂 This sentiment is from the forthcoming PS stamp set, Critter Card Puns.jill_cat-dog-card-die_inside

This die set is chock full of fun pieces that you can add or mix up and use in different ways! Eeeep! Wait until you check out all the other fun shaped dies coming from PS this month too! They are fun to use and surely fun to receive! 🙂

One last Happy Birthday shout out to Paper Smooches, and turning Six in February!! Looking forward to many more years of fun! 🙂

Just Awesome

I could spend an entire day using  Neat & Tangled’s Hexastar Cover Plate! I always think I will trim it up and use it differently. And eventually I will, but I love to inlay it! So that’s what happens when I sit down to use it 🙂

hawkins_jill-awesome

I also used their awesome Awesome die. 🙂 Can you use the same adjective to describe the noun? Haaaaa! 🙂

hawkins_jill-awesome_00

This is a dark navy color and a bright flamingo pink. Quite spring like, and fitting for the most bazarro warm weather we have been having here this February! 😉

I’m joining in the Little Tangles Challenge by the skin of my teeth! Check it out HERE.

Also, my friend Miriam, who designed this Hexastar Cover plate I used above, designed more gems for Neat & Tangled that just released… THIS and THIS! So brilliant! Both are on my wish list, along with a dozen other things. Always, right?! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Gah! ❤jill_sweets-icons-dies_00

I colored these cuties with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from the new Let’s Celebrate stamp set. The animals are from Courteous Cuties with the dies ;). I can’t stop ❤ ing them!

The balloons are from the Celebrate Balloons dies. These are my two favorite balloons in the set. 😉

The Cutest Video Hop Ever!

logo_finalHappy ❤ Day, and welcome to The Cutest Video Hop Ever!  My son and I are VERY excited and grateful to be joining Emily Leiphart for this fun hop celebrating 5000 subscribers on her YouTube channel but, more importantly, inspiring the next generation of crafters!  We hope you have as much fun watching us craft with our kids, as much as we enjoyed creating these projects to share with you.  We are also proud to have two very inspiring young crafters joining us on their own YouTube channels.

I prepped everything, and my son colored all the critters. Afterwards, he excitedly shouted, in a *chop chop* fastion, “Ok, let’s make the video!” I started to explain what the overall plan was, and he said he wanted to do it all on his own, HIS way. Perfect! (But I wasn’t sure what to expect! haaa!) He started, finished twenty minutes later (including our glue mishaps), and that was that! 🙂  Bam! 🙂

Please note: I have NEVER crafted a video before, so be warned. From the filming, to editing, it is all new to me. My son however, seems to be a natural at the instruction. Who knew?!

Here is our video ❤ :

Here is a list of the awesome guests on this hop!

hawkins_valentines_age6
I think these are so stinkin’ cute! Our family and his friends are going to love them! 🙂
hawkins_ps-valentines

He put pom poms on that little Paper Smooches sheep! So cute! 🙂

I laugh because he colored this one Technique Tuesday fox fairly traditionally, and the other is a party! Also, one gets all the Tootsie Rolls? LOL. Love it! 🙂hawkins_tt-valentines

Here are a few cards I colored using Elena’s new Just Me Digital Stamps–so stinkin’ cute!! 🙂
hawkins_jill-valentine
I colored all these with Copic Markers. The images are so sweet, and it is easy to download and print them yourself! Another first for me on this hop: Digital Stamps! And…now I want them all! LOL 🙂hawkins_jill-smore2
These frame dies and the heart dies my son used, are all from My Favorite Things. hawkins_jill-smore_01
Oooops, a little stitching blooper on this one above! shhhh! 🙂
hawkins_jill_love_wm
This Technique Tuesday card is made with the Long Love die. It is super delicate, so I recommend using one of the sticky papers so you can die cut all at once to adhere. The hearts are from the Heart Strings die. Awwwww love. 🙂
jill_i-love-you-die_01

And, last, but not least, is this valentine using Paper Smooches I Love You die and the For You tag die. This one is for my hubby, so I thought the gray was perfect to “man” it up a bit. This is a fun die for many occasions! 🙂

I want to give a HUGE HUGE thanks out to Emily, for first, being crazy enough to ask my son and me to join this hop. And secondly, for her encouragement to make this video and edit it. I can’t say whether or not I’ll ever craft another video, but I will say it was a very good thing to try. (I embedded this video link above and felt so accomplished! LOL!!). My son will likely request to make another 🙂 . I always enjoy a challenge…Even if I did miss a typo in the video. Bwaaahaaaa! I did that on “purpose”… wink wink! Thanks again, Emily! 🙂

Thanks for joining us today…be sure you hop on to Laura Bassen (& leave comments too for a chance at the fantastic prizes!). Laura’s videos are inspiring and I always find myself laughing out loud! Her daughter is sure to add even more fun! 🙂

Signing off!

Jill and my little buddy
