August Release Countdown, Day 2 from Technique Tuesday!

Welcome to Day TWO of Technique Tuesday’s August Release Countdown! It is a really Gr-EIGHT release.Β  <– See what I did there? πŸ™‚

For this card, I used the new-soon-to-be-released TT set called, Olive the Octopus Stamp SetΒ and the coordinating dies from Olive the Octopus Crafting Dies:. The puns just slay me every time! πŸ™‚ (*Links will work when the new products are released tomorrow, August 1st)

I colored the images with Copic markers and die cut out the octopus. For the background, I used Distress Oxide ink to blend on some color to both panels. I wasn’t planning to match the pink IΒ  colored the octopus, but that’s where it ended up! πŸ™‚

I also wanted to use this fun new border die called:Β Waves on the Border Crafting Die.

I added some score lines and some stitching to polish off the card before adhering everything down.

Be sure to check out the NEW products from Technique Tuesday HERE! (The new products shown above will be available via those links tomorrow, August 1st! πŸ™‚

(If you missed my post yesterday, click HERE to head over there next!)

I’ll catch you back here again tomorrow for RELEASE DAY and another card!

Technique Tuesday: Day 1 of the August Release Countdown

Today we are showing Day One of the Technique Tuesday countdown to the new August release! Oh goodness–it is a FULL one! πŸ™‚ Such fun!

This card showcases the new uber fun Sassy Vacation Memories Stamp Set. The sentiment is also stamped on a new diecut from theΒ Captions and Labels Crafting Dies: I love that little ticket look, but I just couldn’t squeeze the coordinating stamp on from the forthcoming new set My Trip Stamp Set.Β .The die cut worked out just fine alone though. πŸ˜‰ (*These links will all work once the sets are released on August 1st.)

I colored all the images with Copic Markers and added a few little tidbits with a white gel pen. I made the die cut and stamped the sentiment on there and set it aside. Then, while I held my breath, I added all the crazy stitching. I meant to fill it in a little more on the bottom there, but I completely forgot until seeing this photo just now. Ack! πŸ™‚

This new Sassy stamp set, Sassy Vacation Memories Stamp Set is of course a favorite of this release. Teri speaks my language. I always love the sentiments that make me laugh. ❀

You’re My Universe

Another week has wooooshed on by this summer! I’m convinced they are picking up steam each week we near closer to the start of school.

I’m popping in today to share this fun little Paper Smooches card I made with some fun little dudes!.Β  πŸ˜‰

My son’s favorite color is orange, so every opportunity I get to sneak in some orange, I do it. πŸ™‚ And it may or may not be one of my favorites too. πŸ™‚

I’m working on stocking up my stash of cute little cards for his lunchbox this year. ❀

I stamped that little guy in the spaceship by first masking it off. Then I colored everything with Copic markers. I diecut out some simple circles and added some gold stars. I finished off the card with some simple scoring and some stitching. πŸ™‚

Paper Smooches goodies: Space Cadet.

You can hop over and check out all the latest on the Paper Smooches Blog.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing weekend ahead!!

Friendly Frolic Release from Simon Says Stamp!

Ooooo exciting day today!! There is a new release over at Simon Says Stamp called Friendly Frolic and it is ginormous! Check it all out HERE!

I had the good fortune of making a couple of fun cards using this awesome new cover plate: Simon Says Stamp DIAMOND PATTERN Wafer Dies.Β

Here they are! πŸ™‚

I first blended color on a panel and then die cut it out, piecing all these bits in. Don’t lose track! πŸ™‚ I can’t wait to cut this out again using a bunch of different colors of bold cardstock. oooooo yes! πŸ˜‰

These sentiments are both from the SSS set: Clear Stamps BIG BIRTHDAY WISHES. Bold sentiments make it quick and easy!

Afterward, I obviously had a whole panel of pretty cardstock, so I just cut that into strips for this card:

ahhhhh rainbow sherbet! πŸ™‚ I used Distress Oxide Inks for the ink blending and just finished it off with some scoring and some stitching.

Be sure to check out the whole release HERE! It is great fun with lots of stuff to follow on the SSS blog HERE.

Thanks for Simon Says Stamp for having me along for the fun to celebrate this release! ❀  I’m off to make my wishlist….shhhhhhh πŸ˜‰

And thank YOU for stopping by!

Take care–Jill

See you Later, Alligator!

Hope you had a great weekend! Ours was great here, but of course, too fast as always. πŸ˜‰

I thought I’d pop in and share these cute little Neat & Tangled critters I colored with Copic Markers. The best part is, they made it onto CARDS already!! πŸ™‚

This card is made with Neat & Tangled’s new Later Alligator and coordinating Dies. I also used N&T’s previously released Polygon Stencil with some Distress Oxide inks. πŸ™‚ I cannot handle the cuteness of that tiny little frog! My son is going to love getting this one! πŸ™‚

Next up, I used the cute little fox, So Foxy! Coordinating dies HERE.

I colored him gray with Copics and added him on top of some Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow Paper Pad paper. Gah, cutest little fox! ❀

I also used Neenah white cardstock, as always, for both! πŸ™‚

If you haven’t seen it, Neat & Tangled is hosting another Throwdown: Crafting with Compassion.

There could not be a better idea in my mind, so I wanted to join in on it. I also thought it completely worthy to purchase this Celebrate You stamp set, as all the proceeds are “being donated to the Burning Limb Foundation to help patients at the Neurologic Relief Center receive care for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).” You can find all the info HERE.

A charity that matters to me is the American Cancer Society. Not only is it a cause close to my family’s heart, but is is a cause that my friend and her family help to raise money for every year. My friend and her family have run the Chicago Marathon seven years over, to raise money for the ACS in memory of her brother. This year, my friend is running the New York City Marathon for the American Cancer Society DetermiNATION Team. In the past, I have sold my cards to help raise just a little more money for her. πŸ™‚ She is a rockstar in my book! ❀

Help spread the word for a worthy cause close to you! Join in HERE. ❀

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead! πŸ™‚

Take care- Jill πŸ™‚

Wish Big!

Happy Friday the 13th! How is it the 13th already?! Wow.

I love these little Paper Smooches dinos! They really get a work out around my house!Β  πŸ˜‰

I colored this little cutie with Copic Markers and then put him on a watercolored tag that I die cut out. To finish this one, I scored the panel, added some stitching, twine and dots. I NEVER use these little dots, so I figured I’d better, before they lose their stick. πŸ™‚

Turned out to be a sweet little birthday card to give. Paper Smooches goodies: Cuteasaurus, Dinos 2 die, For You Tag die

If you’re looking for a jump-start, check out the Paper Smooches Blog for fresh cards made by the DT! One big group of talent there! πŸ™‚ And if you need a kick on Christmas cards, check out the current Paper Smooches Challenge HERE! Take your chances at winning some PS goodies!! whooohoooo!! πŸ™‚
