Today is an exciting day, as I’m joining Concord & 9th as a Guest Designer for July and their Feature Friday series—-I could NOT be more excited!! 🙂 I have always enjoyed seeing this feature and I am delighted to participate this month! Many thanks to Concord & 9th for having me <3….I have been having a grand ol’ time, that’s for sure! Also designing this month are Carrie Rhoades and Karen Reategui! Be sure to check out their projects on the Concord & 9th Blog HERE too! 🙂
On with the cards– That’s why we are all here, right? 🙂
This first card features the new Sew Pretty Dies, Joyful Tiles Turnabout Stencil Pack, and Tropical Vibes Dies. If you haven’t hand stitched a card, I highly recommend giving a go. It creates a lovely added element to each card–and these dies make it quick work. I stitch while watching TV–because I can rarely just sit. 🙂
This “hello” sentiment is perfect for many occasions–I stitched it in dark (navy) blue. I thought it would be fun to stencil the base first, before stitching. Have you used a Turnabout Stencil? It functions just like a Turnabout Stamp. I use my Misti for corner to hold the stencil in place and get the tight fit. 🙂
I thought the flowers, scoring and stitching added the perfect finishing touch! 🙂
I thought it would be fun to stitch up the diamond a little different, and it turned out pretty cool! The trick for this specific look, is to have two colors going at the same time, so you can stitch them alternating, as you go. You can do one color at a time, it just creates a more layered look vs. integrated. Both are fun! 🙂
Next up, I have a sweet stamped little number… This card features the Sew Pretty Stamp set.
I stamped the Hello with a dark blue and then magically found the matching Copic to fill in the outlined Hello. (Insider tidbit: This was completely a strike of luck to find the right color straightaway. Haaa! This will likely never occur again.) I simply adore the “from all of us” sentiment. Just delightful!
For the background, I masked off some stripes with Post it tape and blended on some ink. I stitched the panel on to complete the card.
…So I might have made a few cards because I could not stop! 🙂
This next card features the Sew Pretty Bundle. There are so many possibilities with the stamp and die combos, especially because you can leave the diamond open or complete it, adding a little extra die piece to pierce the holes. This is likely my most straight forward card, if you will. A lovely little number to give to the Bride & Groom!
It’s also delightful that in the bundle, you receive the floss and needles to stitch with. So when you receive your goodies, you are ready to rock! 🙂 The floss colors are all fabulous and go together swimmingly.
I added the simple stitched line and score lines to finish it all off.
And last but not least, is the first card I made! This card again features the Sew Pretty Bundle.
I stamped the diamonds to overlap each other. I originally had three colors of ink to use, and grabbed the wrong one to lay down the last diamonds. But don’t tell anyone. *wink So if I made this one again, I’m not sure if I’d use two inks or three, as was originally intended…?
This green floss might be my favorite in the bundle. 🙂 Its lovely. Perfect to say hello!
Well, I find my bucket of photos is now empty! 🙂 As you can see, I really enjoyed exploring lots of possibilities with these new stamps and dies. And I still want to try a few other things. I’m hoping to get those done sometime in the next weeks–there should be some new seasons to binge watch soon!? 😉
I hope you have been inspired to try your hand at making something fun and possibly explore trying something a little “different” with them too! Please be sure to check out the post on Concord & 9th’s Blog today to see ALLLLLLL the fun!
Happy stitching–thanks so much for stopping by!
