The Creatures, the Myths, the Legends….

Welcome to a super fun Leap Day Release for Taylored Expressions ! Be sure to check out all the fun over at Taylored Expressions now!

All my cards today feature the oh so cute, and OH so funny, Mythical Grumplings. This set is a kick, if you ask me. ❀

First I start out with the Yeti!

Haaaa! He’s so funny! But so sweet, yes? πŸ˜‰

These new bits are THE BEST! If they are up your alley, I recommend maybe getting an extra pack “for a friend”..wink wink. πŸ™‚ I also used the Neighborhood Border as I thought this would be fun little scene for the Yeti and his sentiment.

Next up, I had to use that cutie dragon too. He looks so happy. Haaaa!! I blended on some inks with the TE Blender Brushes and stenciled over the the Scattered Stars stencil. This one is simple and super fun in my book–my fave. That sentiment is everything–Β  haaa! ❀

And this card has another of the newer bits too. πŸ™‚ Lots of fun Copic coloring.

Lastly, here is my son’s favorite–as he says, “the angry unicorn”! haaaa!!

I cannot read this sentiment without laughing every single time. It’s so cheeky and oh so funny. πŸ™‚ I also thought it would be fun to repurpose the Gatefold Reveal 2 to make a shaker card. Perfect fit! πŸ™‚

You can find all my supplies and links to the Taylored Expressions Shop below.

Spellbinders Embossing Folders: February!

Hope you are having a great week! Today I am sharing a couple cards I made with SpellbindersΒ Embossing Folders for February! This was my first opportunity to use these embossing folders and what a treat it was!

You can hop over to the Spellbinders website to check out all the information on SpellbindersΒ Embossing Folders for February. I used both theΒ Delhi Cut and Emboss Folder and theΒ Lahaina Cut and Emboss Folder.

This card is the Β Lahaina Cut and Emboss Folder. So tropically delightful!!

The embossed panel and intricate die cutting makes it so you don’t have to add much more to the card, if you ask me! It does all the work! πŸ™‚

Next up is the Delhi Cut and Emboss Folder.

I thought this would be delightful in blues and I think it turned out lovely!!

I wanted the two to coordinate, so I used the same technique of cardstock strips and Thicker Letters. πŸ™‚

I hope you have been inspired to try one of these embossing folders–so fun and so different from anything I have used before! πŸ™‚

While I have you, don’t forget there is also Spellbinders Small Die ofΒ the Month Club HERE and Large Die of the Month Club HERE!Β

If you’re interested in following me along on Instagram I’m here @jilldhawkins and of course, on my blog here at FastestTurtle.wordpress.com!

Thanks to Spellbinders for having me share the fun this month!

Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

Make Today Great!

Happy Friday!! Make Today Great! And I am with a little help fromΒ Paper Smooches β™₯️!!

For this card, I used Paper Smooches Caffeinated, Caffeinated icon dies, Sunnyville (sentiment), Hearts dies, Half Moon Paper, and Rainbow Sherbet paper. I pieced it all together, scored the card panel and added some stitching to pull it all together. ❀

I can’t remember the last time I did too much paper piecing like this and I so enjoy how it turned out. Such fun to make and I can’t wait to pop it in the mail! πŸ™‚ I just ❀ this little PS Coffee Cup!!

Be sure to check out the new FebruaryΒ Paper Smooches release! The Paper Smooches Design Team will be sharing the March Release next week!! I can’t wait to share the fun with you all!

Hope your day and weekend is GREAT!

A handful of cards today!

Happy Sunday! Today I’m just here to share a smattering of cards I’ve made recently. I thought I’d just share them all here at once. Many of these products are still available over at Ellen Hutson , but some were either a promotion or they are retired. I always think you can likely find a substitute if you’re interested in using an idea here as a launching pad. πŸ™‚

First up, I have a couple Avery Elle cards! πŸ™‚

This first one is ready for Father’s Day this year–perfect for my hubby! So shhhhh don’t show him yet. πŸ™‚ It uses the following from Avery Elle:Β Avery Elle Swell Stamp, Burst Elle-Ments, Avery Elle Sea-Prise! Stamps, Avery Elle Celebraytion Stamps (this one for the second card).

(The Happy Father’s Day is from well loved, but much older AE set.)

I colored everything with Copic Markers. The background I stamped with two different inks and pieced it allllll together. So fun how it turned out.

Next up, I created this one with the Burst Elle-Ments from Avery Elle… a long time FAVORITE die! (I used this same die to create the “porthole” above.)

I used pretty much the same Avery Elle goodies here, mixing it up a bit to create a card for our son. This sentiment below is from Avery Elle’s Celebraytion Stamps.

Next up, I have a couple cards using goodies from the Stamp Market: Hello Stencil, Leaves Stencil.

For both of these, I blended on background colors over these fun stencils and then added the Hi and Hellos on top. πŸ™‚

I like this repeating hello in just black and white, but I think coloring it could be super fun too!

Next up, I created a couple Spring Hi Cards. πŸ™‚ These are perfect to pop in the mail!

I always like the yellow and green blend…it never fails me. πŸ™‚

I used some Distress InksΒ and some Distress Oxide Inks.

I had a lot of fun making these cards and I hope you too have some time to create soon!

So fun!Β Here are all the products that are available now and links again:

Avery Elle: Swell Stamp, Burst Elle-Ments, Β Sea-Prise! Stamps, Celebraytion Stamps.

The Stamp Market: Hello Stencil, Leaves Stencil.

That’s all I have for today! Now I am heading outside as we have unusually and VERY unseasonable warm weather here today….before three days of snow. Yikes! πŸ™‚

Thank You!

Happy Saturday! Today I am here to share a little Thank You card using Honey Bee Stamps. I always need these for school, so here’s another one! πŸ™‚

The winter light is so not fun for photography, so please excuse the winter blah. I had to forgo my usual set up because the at the time I took this, there was no sun. None. haaaa!Β  πŸ™‚

This card features the Β Brilliant DayΒ and the coordinating dies HERE. I also used the Scallop A2 because I pretty much always do, don’t I? ha!! πŸ™‚

This card also had the Stained Glass Coverplate, but you can’t really see it because I layered some vellum over top….so I figured the close up would help show the detail. πŸ™‚

Here are links to all the Honey Bee products I used:

Hola!

Happy Friday!! Hola from me and a littleΒ Paper Smooches β™₯️!!

For this card, I used Paper Smooches new Happy Hellos Stamps. I sure do love this little Hola avacado! πŸ™‚ I colored this Copic Markers and used the Fab Frames dies to frame it. I also used the Half Moon papers.

I’m hoping to make a card set with this little stamp for my son’s teacher this Spring. πŸ™‚

Be sure to check out the new FebruaryΒ Paper Smooches release!

Hope your day and weekend is filled with smiles!

Taylored Expressions: February Release!

Welcome to our last day to formally celebrate Release Week for Taylored Expressions February Release! All the new products are available over at Taylored Expressions now!

My first card today is a sweet little card that I used Lavender on!! Hark!! AND…I LOVE IT!! This new layering stencil called Spring Fling Layered Stencil is soooo lovely and reminiscent of the one that TE release for the holiday. I absolutely adore these stencil layering sets. They are like magic to use! I used Granny Smith first for the leaves and then added a little brush or two of Cilantro for added pop.Β  πŸ™‚

I don’t know if I have ever loved lavender more! Who am I? ha!!Β  This lovely little lantern (All is Bright) was released previously with all the winter goodies, but is now getting a spring lift! What is better about using the stamps you already have and adding on?! The new set is called: All is Bright Additions Stamp & Die Combo.

I was so excited about how this turned out and the new sentiments in the set are delightful! So sweet! ❀

Next up, I have a card using the new Handlettered Hymns sentiment set and for the background, I used the previously released Modern Holly Layering Stencil…. which, you may recall was in the Holiday release, but as you can see, it works for lots of different things! πŸ™‚

I stamped on the vellum and cut out a frame using the Inside Bracket Stacklets. This is all in Raspberry Sorbet. So simple and yet so lovely!

Taylored Expressions Release Week: Day 3

Welcome to Day Three of Taylored Expressions February Release Week! If you missed my other two posts earlier this week,Β  I’ll link you up down below. πŸ™‚

Today, I am sharing the new Big Grumpy Easter. And you know, I could not love this more if I tried! How funny (and oh so very happy) does he look? The little bunny ears?! It just completely makes me smile!Β  πŸ™‚

He plopped the chocolate bunny head first into the basket. Too much!Β  πŸ˜‰

I colored everything with Copic makers and adhered using TE Foam tape onto the Embossing Folder: Cloudy Days background. This card also has the new Drip Drop bits that are so awesome to add a little somethin somethin. πŸ˜‰

I could make these all day! Too funny! πŸ™‚

Next up, I have a card I made with the new Eggceptional Background and the previously released Hip Hop Bunny because he wanted in on the Easter action too! πŸ™‚ This egg background colors in lickety split with the coordinating stencil. 1-2-3 with TE Blender Brushes and done! πŸ™‚

This sentiment is from the Big Grumpy Easter set as well. Doesn’t he too look super happy!? haaahahaaa!!

I colored this silly bunny with Copic markers and added to the background with some vellum to add a little interest. πŸ™‚

Taylored Expressions February Release: Day 2

Welcome back to Day Two of Taylored Expressions February Release Week! If you missed my post yesterday sharing day one, I’ll link you up down below. πŸ™‚

This first card features a new stamp: In the Meadow. This lovely floral stamp can be used for so many occasions and so many different ways. I can think of so many ways to stamp it already! I paired it with the Handlettered Sympathy sentiments. These stamped sentiments make these difficult cards say the heartfelt things we feel. (There is also a coordinating die to die cut these Handlettered Sympathy sentiments out.)

I stamped this with Blue Corn ink to create the silhouette flower part and sentiment and then blended on lots of TE inks with the TE Blender Brushes. It’s so lovely how they always blend out so quickly and smoothly! πŸ™‚

Next up, I have another card using Handlettered Sympathy and the new Botanical Beauty Background. Another floral stamp that is so easy to use for so many occasions and quickly or you can color it all in. The TE Creative Team made AMAZING cards coloring this lovely stamp in. You must check them out over at Taylored Expressions–jaw dropping gorgeous work! I’m telling you!

Because my Copic coloring skills are not as amazing πŸ˜‰ , I thought to try this one embossed with some TE Watercolor. I love how it turned out and these colors blended beautifully together in watercolor as well. πŸ™‚

You can find all my supplies and links to the Taylored Expressions Shop below.

It’s time to start sharing the NEW RELEASE for Taylored Expressions! And this one will have you longing for Spring! πŸ™‚

This first card features the new 3/4″ Stripe Stencil Set and the forthcoming Eggceptional Background and Coordinating Cover Plate. I couldn’t resist just going RAINBOW all over this one! I am a complete sucker for stripes, so this stencil is right up my alley! And guess what? There are different sizes!!! Just sayin’. πŸ™‚

I blended on all these inks and then stamped the Eggceptional Stamp over top. It looks like patterned paper doesn’t it!? ❀ OH….and new Mini Strips – Easter sentiments!! GAH–so fun!!

After that, I held my breath and die cut the eggs all out using the new coordinating Eggceptional Cover Plate! I added them all back on using TE’s Foam Dots–perfect!

Next up, there is a oh so cute new bunny stamp and die!! It’s called Hop to It Cling & Clear Combo and there is a little Hop to It Die that cuts out the cute little bunnies! πŸ™‚
