Christmas In July from Scrapbook.com!

Happy Weekend to everyone! Hope you are enjoying some time to relax and maybe make something this weekend? I have been busy celebrating Christmas in July with some fun goodies from Scrapbook.com! I am always happy to have things done and ready and ahead of time and Holiday cards ready to go in July–the best! There is a BIG Christmas In July sale HERE! Be sure to hop over there ASAP so you don’t miss it!

I worked with lots of fun products and new to me products from Scrapbook.com and I’m here today to share the scoop. Let’s get to some cards, shall we? For these first two cards, I used the Slimline Christmas Foliage and Merry Sentiments. I also had fun using the Pops of Color to create the dimensional dots.

This Slimline Christmas Foliage stamp is FULL Slimline Size, but I thought it would be fun to stretch it, literally, and instead get two 4 bar cards out of it. ๐Ÿ™‚

First, I stamped the using different ink colors and after I used the Pops of Color, letting them dry before moving forward.

I stamped the Merry Sentiments and added them to another backer piece before stitching them together.

These were fun to make!

Next up, I wanted to use the Fa La La in the Slimline Christmas Foliage stamp set and I thought a little rainbow action for the holidays would be fun.

I inked these up using different colors to create an ombre rainbow look.

I also used the Mint Tape here. This tape is intended as a tool for project making, as it is a low tack tape that won’t stick when you don’t want it to. However, I โค the color, so I used it on this card! Shhhhhh don’t tell anyone. ๐Ÿ™‚

I finished them both off with a little scoring and stitching. These are perfect for mailing because they are flat and easy to create in multiples.

Last up, I thought it would be cool to make a Christmas card that we all know is only for this season–dating it with the current year! So easy to do. This would be even better if you added a cutie pic of your kid(s) or family.

For this card, I used the Snowflakes Stencil andย Classic Type: Numbers and Characters. I die cut these from the Christmas Smooth Cardstock Paper and layered them on with foam tape.

To ink on the Snowflakes Stencil, I used the Ink Blending Tool with Domed Foam. This is my new favorite little tool–love the dome shape! I added some white dots with a white gel pen for extra fun before stitching it all together to finish it off. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh and the Merry Christmas is from the Merry Sentiments. I got a lot of use out of this small set!

I love having a stack of cards ready to go! Hopefully you are inspired to get your holiday cards started too and take advantage of the great sale at Scrapbook.com NOW!

Summer of Stamping from Ellen Hutson

I’m popping in today to share another card using the new Summer of Stamping set It’s a Jungle ย  from Ellen Hutson. I always enjoy the EH Summer of Stamping, and this year is no exception. You can find all the New Ellen Hutson Summer of Stamping Release HERE.

My card here today uses the new It’s a Jungle and It’s a Jungle dies to create this card. I really wanted to use the sentiment in the set that says “The Tribe Has Spoken”, so I’m going to need to do that one soon too. ๐Ÿ™‚

For this card, I masked off this area and blended on Distress Oxide inks. I love how smooth those backgrounds always turn out! I stamped and colored a bunch of the different elements in this set and then just tinkered around layouts using different ones. The perk of this is that I still have pieces to use that are already colored. ๐Ÿ™‚

Tropic it like it’s hot–Too funny! I finished this card off with a few splatters of paint and some simple stitching and voila! This is a fun one to pop in the mail to a friend.

**If you missed my post earlier this week, be sure to click HERE and pop over to see THOSE cards. Lots more to see there too! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s the link to the full New Ellen Hutson Release for the Summer of Stamping HERE. Quick recap of the goodies I used this week–all with direct links below to find with ease:

Merry Blooms Kit from Taylored Expressions–Merry Merry!

Today, there is a NEW Kit available over atย  Taylored Expressions and it is VERY Merry! And very Bloomy. Is that a word? It is now. ๐Ÿ˜„! This kit is the perfect scenario if you just want to create a good stack of cards and get ahead for your holiday card mailings. It’s all there for you, you just need ink! ๐Ÿ™‚

I decided to try out a couple different things with my cards here today.

First up, let’s talk about this card, because I think it might very well be my favorite! ๐Ÿ™‚ It is so different from anything I have made and honestly, I’m not entirely sure how it happened. ha!

For these flowers, I used the following ink colors, blended on with TE Blending Brushes: Sea Salt, Salt Water Taffy, Confetti Cake, Potato Chip and Mushroom. I started first with the Sea Salt adding that down to create kind of a base and a good white shadow, if you will. On top of that I went very lightly with the other colors. I have seen blue poinsettias, but I am not entirely sure about them, so I gave these a white with a tinge of blue hue.

I used the stamps in the Merry Blooms Clear Stamp set to add all the details to the individual pieces. For the leaves, I inked the background stamp with a bunch of different greens and even some yellow.

The sentiment is from the Clearly Crafty Joyful Season stamp set and then I used the coordinating dies (which need to be purchased separately from the kit) to die cut it out before adhering with a couple layers of cardstock underneath.

I added this vellum frame using the Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets and the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. I am digging how this turned out. It is not only full of holiday cheer, but it also says winter to me–cozy winter! The good kind of winter. ๐Ÿ™‚

I finish everything off with some stitching and Clear Drip Drops.

Next up, I made a few tags using the Pierced Tag Stacklets and added one to the TE Clear Treat Boxes. For these I went to more of a traditional holiday red, using lots of different TE Reds and pinks. I even used Mulled Wine, which I admittedly do not use too often, so that’s always fun for me!

I white heat embossed these little sentiments on some strips of Sweet Basil cardstock. Looking forward to using these tags at the holidays for sure!

On these tags and both of my cards, I also used the Spattered Background and white heat embossed that. I like how it gives it a snowy wintery look. I could use this background on most every card, I think. โค

Lastly, I have this card, using more of a Spearmint looking set of leaves. I also used Mint Julep. This green combo is delightful.

I added some Silver Glitter to the center of these Poinsettias. Again, I also used the Spatter Background with some Mushroom ink to add little extra bit of goodness. I used the Frame in Frame die to create this panel. I added a nest of silver thread behind the sentiment to tie into the silver glitter. So festive!

Of course, I love these envelope colors in this kit and the stickers. Always the stickers. But I’m going to need some more Dijon envelopes. How do I not have these already?

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions. Here’s the TE scoop:

Hereโ€™s everything included the Merry Blooms Kit โ€“ which is available for $69:

  • Merry Blooms Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set
  • Perfect Poinsettia die collection

Summer of Stamping: Ellen Hutson New Release!

Exciting day today over at Ellen Hutson–It’s a new week in the Summer of Stamping! Just fun summery goodness available now! And I made a few cards to kick things off.ย  You can find all the new (and goodies released last week!) in the New Ellen Hutson Summer of Stamping Release HERE.

Let’s get to some projects, shall we?! First, let’s start with this fun little number made with the new Aloha set (and Aloha dies) and the new Tilt ‘N Rock dieย interactive die set, all of course by the talented Julie Ebersole. Julie strikes again! ๐Ÿ™‚

I toyed around with using all the of the fun little scenic pieces in this set and then ended up with this simple design to keep the focus on her little sashaying moves! ha! ๐Ÿ™‚ Here’s a little video of her shaking her grass skirt on my Instagram post: jilldhawkins .

I created the background using different Distress Oxide inks after masking off a rectangle to work within using Post It notes.

Here’s two little snap shots of how she looks in motion with the Tilt ‘N Rock die.

So fun and SUPER easy to make. You just need a penny along with the Tilt ‘N Rock die.ย ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up, I used the New Mondo Anthurium set (and Mondo Anthurium die) to create a few cards. I actually made five of them, but I figured you all are picking up what I’m putting down with seeing three of them. ๐Ÿ™‚

First I cut strips of brightly colored cardstock and pieced those all together. I was going to just mix up the order of the rows all different, but I decided to keep them all the same to ease our eyes when they are together. ๐Ÿ™‚

This first one, I stamped the Mondo Anthuriumย and white heat embossed with before die cutting it out. I added some stitching to the base panel and then lined up the Mondo Anthuriumย to match an adhered it with foam tape. I finished it all off with some clear bits from my stash and a simple Mahalo!

This one might be my favorite!

Next, I kept things a little more simple adding in the Hero Arts Infinity Nesting Postage Stamp dies to create panels.

I added some embossed lines to the card base and some stitching to the panels and done! ๐Ÿ™‚

Such fun and these cards make me feel like I am vacationing amongst the tropical leaves of Hawaii! If only. โค
