More Fun with Ellen Hutson’s Winter Release!

In case you missed it, Ellen Hutson has a new Winter Release available now and its packed with holiday and winter goodness! So fun! Hopefully you have seen some projects out and about on the interwebs.

Today, I’m sharing a card using the new Sending Holiday Cheer  set by Julie Ebersole and Holly Jolly Christmas by Julie, as well as the previously released A2 Piercing Plate 2. The Fa La La & Tree are from the Holly Jolly set–stamp and Holly Jolly Die.

How FUNNY is THIS? The snarky sentiment is from Sending Holiday Cheer— I kinda wanted to cross out the “Just Kidding” to make it even more snarky, but I refrained. 😂

I used the A2 Piercing Plate 2 to create the background about the scored lines, giving it some subtle texture. Then I stamped the stars with Golden Glitz Delicata. To finish it off, I added some zig zag stitching.

I’m looking forward to making more with the new Winter Release from Ellen Hutson!  I’ve been under the weather here myself, but look forward to getting back to all the things ASAP!

*Please note that the gift is automatically added to qualifying orders/while supplies last.

If you missed my previous post from last week, check that out HERE because it is another funny sweet card there.

Handmade for the Holidays from Taylored Expressions!

Today, there is a fun NEW Handmade for the Holidays release that is all about Gift Giving — Ornament making Kit, tags and lots of other fun goodies available over at  Taylored Expressions!

Let’s get to it shall we?

These first ones, Accordion Trees, are fun to make and I have plans to make them in bulk. I want to make a rainbow of trees, so I’m going to need to order more stumps! haaa! And fortunately, we can!

These trees take up a very small footprint of cardstock, which is awesome because one strip will do it. I added background stamps to the trees. I used the Berries & Boughs Background, Diagonal Diamonds Background and the Ticks & Tack Background. I went with tone on tone, so Granny Smith, Guava and Pineapple. You simply cut out the tree three times and fold on the impressed crease, glue together and done. You could even fancy these up by trimming the trees. Fun!

The little star comes with the die, so I just die cut those out and added them to the top. The Fast Grab Glue works great for these and dries quick and clear. I might have taken my photos too soon…shhh. But I promise, the glue is clear now.

I actually cut out tags to add to these, because I thought it would be fun to add them to the holiday table as place settings. But then I left them on my desk vs. adding them. 😂 But the Itty Bitty Tags are perfect for this.

Next up, is a very fun and FAST little new release item: Simple Tags Holiday. These Simple Tags come in preprinted toner cards on Sugar Cube and Toffee. The amazing part: The die cuts alllllll the tags at once. Boom. Done!

So first you select your cardstock. I did both. Then, if you want, you can run it through your Minc with foil. I used Silver Foil. HOWEVER, you do NOT have to foil them. You can also just use them as pre stamped messages. You could stamp with background stamps or ink blend them or whatever you want.

I then used the Simple Tags Holiday Layering Stencils to add on the Happy Medium-Glitter. I used both Gold and Red. The trick for doing this is to not be in a hurry. You have to layer one paste, let it dry and then layer the other paste. The result is worth it!

So fun to have the dimension of the paste sparkle in person. The Nuvo Media Spatula makes this quick work.

I then saved the foil I used on the tags and put that on another tag, getting the reverse of the foil. In other words, the whole tag is silver and the words, where the toner previously grabbed the foil, are not. Hopefully the picture below explains this better than I just did. ha!

And lastly, there is a fun new ornament kit: Deck the Halls Ornament Kit! My son and I had fun making these!

We learned very quickly that you need VERY little paint and want to use very little paint with the stencils on the wood slices. Here is my son doing the the painting. 🙂

Pro tip: Pixie Spray makes the stencils stick to the wood slices! It’s awesome how they stick! The best part about this kit is EVERYTHING you need is included in it–The wood slices, the string, the stencils, the paint, the daubers… You just grab and go! Perfect if you are visiting kids and you want a sweet little craft to grab and go. The only other thing I would grab is the Pixie Spray. 😉

Here are a few close ups of our ornaments:

Too fun…I love when something ALL comes together and you just grab it and make! We kept ours pretty simple, because that’s how he does things. My son told me we need to order more wood slices, ASAP! 🙂

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions. Hooray!

Ellen Hutson’s Winter Release!

Today the Winter Release from Ellen Hutson is available and it is SNOW much fun! There is a little something for everyone to create with in this one, for sure! 🙂 And there is a FREE GIFT with qualifying purchases–see the end of my post for details.

Naturally, the first set I had to use was Julie Ebersole’s new Sweet Surprises set  and (Sweet Surprises Dies). Because: Bear. I stamped and die cut a bunch of these sweet surprises out to color with Copic Markers. I then die cut them all with the Sweet Surprises Dies.

Of course, once I saw this sentiment in the Sending Holiday Cheer by Julie Ebersole (Julie: Again!! 🤍)  stamp set, well, that was that. Haaaaa! The little bear was going in upside down! Poor guy 😊–But this is my current mood too, so it’s perfect! Double ha!! It’s fine. We’re Fine. Everything is fine. 😂

(This little bear is the teeny tiny version of my little buddy from one of my all time faves: All Inside (All Inside Dies).)

I created the tone on tone snowflake background with the new die set called Snowflake Die set (go figure 😊) I have found that I am a bit of a snowflake snob over the years… that one is too pointy, that one is too intricate, etc. etc…. BUT THESE– ❤❤❤!! I love their simplistic shapes and that they are all the same. Which I know is counterintuitive to the nature of a snowflake and all, but there is something about having them all be the same and available in different sizes that is VERY appealing. Plus, I like their rounded tips. 😉

I added some stitching to those and wammo! All set!

I am definitely enjoying this whole new Winter Release from Ellen Hutson and I hope you are too! I will be back this weekend with more to share! 🙂 I can’t wait! I need a week off to create with these fun goodies. 🙂

*Please note that the gift is automatically added to qualifying orders/while supplies last.

Gel Printing from Taylored Expressions!

Today, there is a NEW Kit available over at  Taylored Expressions! The Gel Printing kit is AWESOME and really, really fun! If you have never tired Gel Press (like me) before, you’re going to become quickly addicted. I couldn’t stop making prints!

For all my cards, I only used the paint in the kits. You can achieve a WIDE variety of colors from just these tubes of pain, as you can see below.

This was so fun how it turned out. Be sure you relax and enjoy the process on the Gel Press. Many of us struggle with control while creating (me!) and this is not the place to worry. 🙂

Stencils ahoy! This one below is the new Willow Stencil and the one above is the new Trendy Triangles stencil.

I finished this one off the the Petite Rectangle Stacklet and some black bits.

Lastly, I used the Dizzy Daisy Stencil to really go off the rails for another fun one! It’s great to try all the things when gel pressing!

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions. Hooray!

Here’s the TE scoop:

If you love the idea of printing your own patterns in a variety of colors and designs then you’re going to love what you can accomplish with our Gel Printing Kit! Gel press printing is a technique that uses a gel printing plate (a soft and sticky plate made out of a polymer material) and a medium, like acrylic paint or dye-based inks, to create artistic prints and patterns. Everything in this project kit was hand-selected by Gel Press expert Lydia Fiedler to get you started creating unique gel press backgrounds for your cards!

The Gel Printing Kit retails for $69 and includes:

  • One 5″ x 7″ Gel Press Plate
  • Five 4 oz tubes of acrylic paint (blue, magenta, yellow, pearl metallic white and titanium white)
  • 20 sheets of Gel Press Paper (5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″)
  • One 4″ Soft Rubber Speedball Brayer
  • One 2 oz bottle of gel hand sanitizer (for removing paint residue from the plate)
  • A hinged Gel Press Storage Tin (7 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ x 1″)

Once you complete your kit purchase, you will receive an email (separate from your order confirmation email) with a link to the exclusive class video on YouTube. Watch it as often as you like and learn some great gel press printing tips and tricks while discovering inspiration for more designs!

In addition to the Gel Printing Kit, we are offering a new background stamp, several new stencil designs, and packages of Gel Press Paper! You can use the new stamp and stencils with your gel press or for other paper crafting projects.

I’ll be back to update all my supply lists later! 🙂

Stamp Joy Exclusives now available!

Taylored Expressions has a New Release today!  It has the products from the Spring Virtual Stamp Joy event! And they are good ones, for sure!

There is a bunch of new rainbow goodness in this release that I cannot wait to use myself! But let’s get started with what I did use today, shall we?!

First up, I have the Kaleidoscope Cutting Plate which was super fun to make. I was inspired by… can you guess? Good n Plenty candy! 🙂

I also used two sentiments from the A Few Phrases set, which is a small little set that packs a punch with a bunch of well used sentiments.

This took a wee bit to piece all the Good n Plenties in 😉 , but I think in the end it was SO worth it! I love to do this while watching TV because you don’t have think–you just need to match up the puzzle pieces and be sure to NOT lose them! I finished this off with some stitching and some Cosmic Bits. 🙂

Also, in case you missed it–there is a NEW gift with purchase over at TE this October month–it is called Winter Village. You can check out all the cards I made with this stamp on my post from Tuesday: HERE.

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions. See my links below  🙂

Hanukkah Release from Taylored Expressions!

Taylored Expressions has a New Release today !!  It has a handful of goodies to celebrate Hanukkah! What a wonderful release to add to your collection to celebrate Hanukkah.

Today, I used the new Get the Word Out- Happy and Get the Word Out – Happy Shadow along with a few previously released products. Funny enough, even though this is a Hanukkah release, as discussed above, I ended up making more of a Holiday Season card.

To create the background I used one of my SUPER faves, the Modern Holly Layering Stencils with greens and Guava. I then die cut the Diagonal Stitched Rectangle Stacklets with that. To finish it off, I die cut the ombre Happy along with the On the Repeat-Holiday and popped those in the Frame in Frame 2 die.

I just love the way the greens come out on this stencil and I just have so much fun layering these stencils. I finished this with some stitching and some Clear Drip Drops… which reminds me that I need to purchase some more of those, since I am running low! ahhhh!

Also, one more thing while I have you–there is a NEW gift with purchase over at TE this October month–it is called Winter Village and it is a good one! I haven’t seen a free gift that I haven’t like yet! Anyway, I wanted to share a few cards I had made with it here:

I thought this one worked wonderfully to just sent a Season’s Greetings type card. The new Arch Stacklets frame a scene perfectly!

This next card is sort of any time kind of card–Welcome to the Neighborhood! I kept this one pretty simple too. (This sentiment is from the OH MY WORD – HELLO set.

The tag is from the Pierced Tag Stacklets–a long time FAVE! 🙂

Lastly, more of a Christmas card, if you will, but using alternate color scheme that I think I would normally reach for with Christmas cards?

Oh how I loved how soft and sweet this one turned out!

Here’s the scoop from TE:

Right now through Sunday, October 10th you can get all of the new Hanukkah products in one click! The ‘I Want it All Bundle’ retails for $82.50 and includes:

  • Foil It – Hanukkah
  • Bright Hanukkah
  • Bright Hanukkah Dies
  • Simple Strips – Hanukkah
  • Get the Word Out – Happy
  • Get the Word Out – Happy Shadow
  • On Repeat – Hanukkah
  • Exclusive Glitter Cardstock Pack (4 sheets each of Dark Blue, Light Blue and Silver)

Offer valid from 9am (CT) on Oct 5 through 11:59 pm on Oct 10 (or while supplies last)

Another WCMD card using the new Ellen Hutson set!

I hope you didn’t miss World Card Making Day this past Saturday! I Ellen Hutson has this   super new  set  called Bear Ware Grand Tour and  more! This card of course uses the new Bear Ware Grand Tour set (and coordinating dies). And I also used the new Planet Surface dies to create the little world he is sitting on.

Ciao bella! This time, he is in Italy, or just come from there, maybe more likely. 🙂 So fun! 🙂 He brought his pasta along too… teehee!

Once again, I colored everything with Copic Markers and die cut them all out. This time he had to hold the Leaning Tower of Pisa and his little camera! 🙂 I die cut the Planet Surface and then used the A2 Piercing Plate 2 to give it some extra texture. I created the background using the previously released Nordic Cross Cover and added some stitching to finish off the fun! Ciao ciao ciao! ❤

You can find the new World Card Making Day release HERE with the Bear Ware Grand Tour and Planet Surface dies available.

If you missed my post on Saturday, please find that one HERE!  Too cute! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

Take care–Jill 🙂

Celebrating WCMD with Ellen Hutson today!

Today is World Card Making Day! I don’t know about you, but this is a fun day! I seem to always be busy doing something that doesn’t involve cardmaking, but I’m hoping 2021 is my year to celebrate in true form! And let me tell you, Ellen Hutson has just the set to enjoy a smile today! I ADORE this set! 🙂And on with my card! 🙂

This is the new set released today for WCMD: Bear Ware Grand Tour set (and coordinating dies). Gahhhhhh! I squealed when I opened my mailbox and then yelped when I opened the envelope. It is TOO MUCH! 🤍🤍🤍 I was so excited. First up, a little buddy for All Inside (and All Inside Dies) and then he (and really THEY) have all these new things to use and hold. I love!

I colored everything with Copic Markers and die cut them all out. I love to have a little pile of fun to choose from in order to create. I kept everything else very simple blending on a faint background after masking and then added a few splats. I mean, he is holding the London Tower and the Eifel Tower, like stuffies. TOO cute and fun! 🙂

I’ll be back again in a couple days with another card featuring this new Bear Ware Grand Tour set AND other new set Planet Surface and the previously released Nordic Cross Cover and A2 Piercing Plate 2. If I’m super lucky, I’ll be back again before that with another card I made today! 🙂 Let’s hope the day is a fun one to create for everyone. ❤

You can find the new World Card Making Day release HERE with the Bear Ware Grand Tour and Planet Surface dies available. I’m off to the shop the 20% off sale at Ellen Hutson myself HERE!

Thanks again for stopping by! Have a great day making!

Take care–Jill 🙂
