Peace & Love

Hooray for Friday! I find it a little odd to be posting this on Friday the 13th (ha!), but so it goes! πŸ™‚

Today, I’m I’m sharing my Paper Smooches card using the new Mini Cross die and the the Boxed Greetings, along with their coordinating dies HERE.

I created this background using the two Distress Oxides Blues–Broken China and Faded Blue Jeans. I added some flicks of water and white, a few embossed stars to polish that off. I partially diecut both the Mini Cross and the Boxed Greetings. I added some quick stitching and done! πŸ™‚

Check out all the NEW Paper Smooches OCTOBER 2017 release HERE! Lots of holiday fun!!

Eeeeps! Cutie little birds! I created a quick and simple Distress Ink watercolor back drop and when that dried, I stamped the birds in Versafine Black. I added some wonky stitches under their feet and sewed the watercolor panel onto the card front. πŸ™‚

I love the simple typed font with the curly script words! Delightful! πŸ™‚

This little bird I stamped on three same size pieces of cardstock and pieced them together. I added  a couple black strips and some stitching and Voila! πŸ™‚ SMILE! I love these kind of cards and I love to mail them!

These little birdies have coordinating dies, and those can be found HERE. I don’t have them, but I think they would be fun to use to layer up these little birds in flocks! πŸ™‚

While I have you, I thought it would be fun to share a couple coffee cards I made with TT’s new October goodies!

I just love how simple this first card is and how it turned out! I wish I have made a few more at the time.  πŸ™‚ I just used Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment ink on black paper to stamp this awesome coffee cup from the NEW Perk Up Stamp set.

This sentiment is from the Sassy Coffee set! Oh my word–these Sassy sets that Teri Anderson creates keep me cracking up time after time. I just think they are all a riot and can be found HERE.

This next card uses the same Sassy Coffee set, but over and over. Because I feel like that just needs repeating. πŸ™‚

I stamped the cute smiley coffee cup from the same set. You know I love any inanimate object that smiles. πŸ™‚ Haaaa!

I hope you are able to carve some time out today and create. I’m likely to do mine late tonight when our son goes to bed. But that’s normal. πŸ™‚ Have a great weekend and be sure to check out the new stuff from Technique Tuesday HERE!  πŸ™‚ Including this new Chickadees 2.0 WCMD set!

Take care- Jill πŸ™‚

Merry Christmas…and scene! :)

Happy ALMOST weekend!

Today, I’m popping in with a sweet little Christmas number using the New Paper Smooches Merry Christmas dieΒ and the previously released, Promenade (and coordinating dies). The little snowflake balls are from the new going-to-be-used-a-lot-set, Boxed Greetings. Good gravy, do I enjoy Kim’s handwriting, and this die is dynamite for the holiday season!

One of my favorite combos of all time is kraft, red, and white. Well, to be 100% truthful, kraft is one of my favorite colors of all time on its own! πŸ™‚

I white heat embossed this scene on the kraft panel, and then added a smidge of Versamark pen to darken some areas. I also added a few bits with Prismacolor colored pencils for the berries and glowing light. I die cut the Merry Christmas die from a couple of layers of red cardstock and one or two white for some POP! πŸ™‚

I love all the little parts in the Promenade set and the fact that you can die cut them out, is the icing on the cake. Those wreaths alone are a card waiting to happen. πŸ™‚

Check out all the NEWΒ Paper SmoochesΒ OCTOBER 2017 release HERE!

Have a fantastic Friday friends! and Go CUBS!! πŸ™‚

Take care- Jill πŸ™‚

Mail It Monday!

Happy Mail It Monday everyone! Today, I thought I’d make a quick post to share the movement of mailing cards! By movement, I mean literally moving them from your desk to a loved one’s mailbox. ;). My crafty (and WAY talented) friend Kimberly Crawford started the fun on Instagram (find her HERE), and asked me to share a little tidbit about the bags I use to store/mail/etc. So, here I am! Kimberly is also having a GIVEAWAY!! Details below!: )

My favorite bags are these from the Container Store and are reasonably priced. They sell a few different sizes, so I’d recommend deciding what works best for YOU! I have a few of the medium ones and a couple larger ones. I use the larger ones for various things at home too. Big fan! They are really durable and I like that protect things from sprinkling rain or spilled water. (Ask me how I know… 😐 )

Here is a link to them below. I have never ordered online, but I imagine it’s a breeze. The Container Store is dangerously close to where I live. I try very hard to avoid it. πŸ™‚ It MIGHT be my favorite store. πŸ˜‰

Container Store Aqua Vinyl Mesh Pouches

I have purchased similar ones on Amazon before also and they have been great too. I think the blue one (below) is from Amazon? It’s been a long time…. I also believe I used to get them at the art supply store Utrecht and possibly Dick Blick, but don’t quote me on that. πŸ™‚ Like I said, I use a lot of them so I’ve acquired them from different places over the years. πŸ™‚

So what do I use them for right? Well, admittedly I love to send cards. However, let’s face it, life can be really cookoo busy. Often. I mostly send cards on the go! It is WAY more realistic for me to write one or three out while on the train, in waiting rooms, waiting in the car line, waiting at practice, etc.. You peeps know the drill. You wait. A lot. However, I almost look forward to it when I have my bag o’ cards and supplies ready to go. And it is always ready to go…sometimes more well stocked than other times, but ready nonetheless. πŸ™‚

This is a tote bag I’ve had for years, and has just happened to become my “card mailing bag”. Everything fits in there, including the extra envelopes I just threw in to reload my other pouch. πŸ˜‰

In one of the zipper pouches, I have all my postage stamps (I just restocked!), including international stamps. If the card is not addressed, stamped, and sealed before I leave wherever I am, it will not get mailed for days. I know that sounds pathetic, but I’m keeping it real. I just forget once I get home! ;(

Also, I have pens for addressing (Silver, White, and Sharpie) and pens for writing (one would suffice, but I have a pen “thing”. LOL!). I also have return address labels and washi for sealing the envelopes. Lately, I have been carrying these white cardstock panels. I often find I need a little “cushion” for mailing cards with bulk or embellies, and these work great for that. I sometimes write out a message on these panels and adhere inside a card later. Double duty! If I want to send a certain card to someone, I’ll write my message on this white panel and adhere it inside the card later! This has made those cards chances of mailing better too! (Note: I trim those panels about a quarter-inch in each dimension for ease!)

I generally have enough envelopes with me to mail each card twice. Haaaaa! I just never know what color I’ll want! And you know, just like patterned paper, you never have just the right one! LOL!

(Most of my envelopes have been acquired from Paper Source. They are headquartered in Chicago, so I always like to support them. And support them I do!  Haaaa! Plus, I have always loved their envelopes! And their cardstock, and their patterned papers, ….the list goes on and on! πŸ˜‰ )

I use *Hello* labels and name badges for addressing packages/envelopes sometimes. It makes quick work of it…and it’s fun!

And, of course, my bag of cards! No matter how many cards I have mailed, there are always more to send! πŸ˜‰

I hope sharing what I’ve learned gives you an idea or two! This on-the-go method has definitely made mailing manageable and enjoyable! πŸ™‚

Be sure to follow Kimberly on Instagram HERE and use the hashtag #mailitmonday to spread the word! Also, Kimberly’s Blog HERE! πŸ™‚ Kimberly will be having a GIVEAWAY for a few bags, so be sure to check it out on IG!! You can also follow me on Instagram HERE. πŸ™‚

Spread some love! Even a scribbled note or quick doodle is fun to send and receive. πŸ™‚ There are few simpler ways of brightening someone’s day than REAL mail from far and near! πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by today! It turned into a crazy long post! BIG crafty Hugs to my friend Kimberly ❀  for including me in her fun! πŸ™‚

Drop some mail in the post, friends!

Take care- Jill πŸ™‚

Our designers received Xyron adhesives to use on their October projects and Xyron’s design team were given Paper Smooches stamps to create with.  They are sharing their Paper Smooches cards on the their blogs this week. You can find them all HERE

For my project today, I used the super fun and festive new Paper Smooches Santa Card dies! Eeeeeeeeep! How cute is he?! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Bonus that we received Xyron adhesives to use on our projects this month! The Xyron sticker maker makes this Santa a breeze to piece together. I am always amazed when I peel up that plastic topper and BOOM: Sticker! Love. It. You can check out the Xyron Sticker Maker HERE. It’s a staple for a crafty stash. πŸ˜‰

For Santa’s face, I decided it would be fun to use the Flower Frames dies. These Santa Card dies cut a larger beard to fill a card front, but I trimmed mine down to work on the Flower Frame. I added a little Liquid Applique to his hat brim and a huge pom-pom! πŸ™‚ Oh what fun it is!

His cheeks are rosy!! πŸ™‚ For the background, I used Paper Smooches Graffiti alpha set to create the repeated HO HO HO! Don’t you just love his bushy eyebrows?! ❀

I also used the Xyron Mega Tape Runner to adhere the larger elements and the panel to the card base. I am a fan of this tape runner because I don’t have to refill it nearly as often as I do some of my smaller runners. Big fan of that! Thank you for sharing your awesome stickiness with us this month Xyron! πŸ˜‰

Next stop on our Paper Smooches Pep Rally Hop:  Karin Akesdotter! πŸ™‚ Karin wow’s me constantly! Geesh! ❀

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to hop and leave comments for a chance to win some Paper Smooches goodness! Merry Christmas! Errr, I mean, Happy Fall! πŸ˜‰

Take care- Jill πŸ™‚

STAMPtember: Technique Tuesday set!

Happy [Technique] Tuesday! Exciting news about a new Simon Says Stamp/Technique Tuesday STAMPtember Set in the house! You can check out the new set, Sassy You’re Not Normal (haaaa!) HERE! It is SUPER funny!

I thought I’d share some cards I made with this new set. I had the foresight to think ahead and make a few at once. There were originally 6, but I was having some trouble stamping that night, (LOL!!) so only three made it to the finish line! Haaaaa! πŸ™‚

For these cards, I also used the delightful Enjoyed Layered Flower Stamp set. Isn’t that Sunflower fun!?

These new sentiments on this SS/TT set are so freaking awesome and CRACK ME UP!! πŸ™‚

How funny about the dryer!? So true! I stamped the dryer repeatedly in orange and gray inks. πŸ™‚

And to finish off, I had to also use this sentiment, so I colored for Kathy’s Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge with it! πŸ™‚ Have you joined in The Daily Marker 30 Day? There’s still time! It’s quite fun and great practice! I have no idea how Kathy keeps up with all?!! Amazing! You can check out all my misgivings and successes HERE on Instagram!

Be sure to hop over and check out the new STAMPtember Goodies from Simon Says Stamp HERE and everything new from Technique Tuesday HERE!Β  πŸ™‚ Lots of fun stuff to add to your wish list!
