Happy Trails

Happy Tuesday! Today I am sharing a card that I fought to finish! LOL!Β  I kept having mishaps/mistakes, but in the end, I prevailed and finished it! (I won’t tell you how long that took!)

I was all done with the Copic coloring and dropped water on the camper while making the background with Distress Inks. Hence, making the decision where the sentiment would go! Haaaaa! Usually I’m super careful, but….. well, you should see my desk this week. Yikes. *rolls eyes*

I’ll spare you all the other flubs, but man, sometimes projects test you, don’t they?Β  And the debate about using the grill or not using the grill went on for several minutes. In the end, I decided these campers were hungry. πŸ˜‰

For this card, I used the fabulously fun Avery Elle set Glamper Campers! Oh my word, this set! ❀ (That flamingo alone! I want to make a card with just that little fella!) I have been pining for it, and finally used a friend’s set back in April. I stamped and die cut a bunch of images then. Now I am ready to make more. Saves a lot of time later! Except when you keep making a mess! LOL. πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Trails!

Ice Cream fun!

Happy Summer! Just popping in with a couple quicker cards I made last week. It was a crazy week, but I did sneak these in and felt better! πŸ™‚

I used my Zig Clean Color pens to watercolor these in. (Then I photographed them with Copic markers, and I think that is just funny! Shows how time crunched things got.) I finished them with some stitching and some Wink of Stella sparkle.

I can’t wait to use more of these stamps soon! SO fun! πŸ™‚ I used Avery Elle’s The Scoop. I think this set is delightful, and would also pair awesome with their newer ice cream treat stamp set. I don’t own that one yet, but the treats smile, so I really must some day πŸ˜‰ .

Yum! Happy Summer!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Friday!

Cornucopia of projects! :)

Happy Wednesday!
I’m usually pretty good about posting all my projects on my blog, but this last month + has been a little crazier than normal. I always try to figure out if it’s just the new normal, or if it is just busier that usual. I’m hoping for the later this time! πŸ™‚
Anywho–here is a few cards/projects I have made recently that haven’t made it here yet. πŸ™‚
First up, this fun card using Paper Smooches Huge Hugs and dies AND Huge Hugs 2! This was for my son’s last day of school this year. πŸ™‚
I actually used my Scor-Tape as a stencil. It was sitting on my desk, so it worked out well! I just brushed some Distress Ink in there and then gave it a little water spritz for some texture. Fun!
The whale and fish are covered in Glossy Accents! Love that little addition. I think I may go through a whole bottle this month. LOL. πŸ™‚
Here are projects I created for teachers and staff at school this Spring:
Love how fun these are! I used Paper Smooches FruitasticΒ and the Thanks So Much Die. For the tags below, I used the Paper Smooches Pencil Dies and the Lovely Thoughts stamp set for the sentiment.
Here is a quick pick of some tags I stamped up for some crafty friends. Love this little bunny from Paper Smooches Pineapple Crush! (I didn’t think to take a more finessed photo, but I thought they are too cute not to share!)
These next cards use a combination of Paper Smooches Pineapple Crush stamps and Ellen Hutson’s Wonky Backdrops. Such fun!! πŸ™‚ (I also used the retired a Paper Smooches set for the sentiment, but this one is an excellent sub in, Many Thanks.)
This next card uses Winnie and Walter’sΒ  Framed and Our Town. Love how this turned out. I made it at a crafty retreat and I used someone’s stencil for the background too. But I didn’t write down the name of it. πŸ™‚
Next up, is this card I made using WPlus9 Feathers and Florals and Avery Elle’s Many Thanks. This floral set was sent to me from some crafty friends, and I’m so glad to have inked it up!! πŸ™‚ I’ve been using a lot of flowers lately!? Must be the season πŸ˜‰ .
And last but not least, here are some teacher cards I made last fall. These great teacher stamps are all from Lil’ Inker Designs. LOVE these so very much! πŸ™‚ Again, I borrowed these great products from some crafty friends. I only wished they all lived closer to create together more often. ❀
Alrighty! I hope you have enjoyed this mixed bag of projects I had yet to blog! I like to keep my blog up to date. It’s a great way to track my projects if I ever want to look back . πŸ™‚
Thank you for stopping by again today! πŸ™‚
Take care- Jill πŸ™‚

If you follow me on Instagram, you have likely seen these projects already πŸ˜‰ : jilldhawkins

You are Sunshine!

I am popping in today, to share a card I made for Ellen Hutson’s Mix It Up Challenge! I am so glad I snuck this in! I enjoy combining products I like so much!

For this card, I used Ellen Hutson’s All Inside and Avery Elle’s Hello Stamp. I’d venture to guess, this AE set is long retired (?), but it is a fave of mine still! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_sunshine_00_wm

I stamped and used my Zig pens to watercolor in an ombrΓ© sunshiney look! It’s not quite as smooth as I’d have liked, but I decided if I messed with it anymore, I’d have watercolor outside the lines! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_sunshine_wm

I scored the panel, and stitched it on a card base with a paper clip. That was about it! Lots of simple sunshine to mail!

I’m entering this in the Ellen Hutson January Mix It Up Challenge: Avery Elle. It’s about over, but if you run, you can sneak one in too! πŸ˜‰

Thanks for stopping by!

Love Puffin

When I saw this Love Puffin from Avery Elle, i just knew I wanted to stamp them! πŸ™‚ So stinkin’ cute! I am going to share three different cards I made over the course of *two many* days… πŸ™‚ Watercolor drying is painful sometimes.

hawkins_jill_puffy-heart_1wmI think this one above might be my favorite? I puffy heart you. I just ❀ that! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_love-puffin_wmThis one above, I did not get a stellar photo. It had to get to its destination STAT! hawkins_jill_puffyheart2_wmAnd this one was kind of a happy accident, even though I’m not 100% sure I like it yet… πŸ™‚

Please excuse my inked and crazy hands in the pics! Overcast days are sometimes awesome for photos and sometimes not. Yesterday, was a not.

Thanks for dropping in!

Happy Halloween!

Popping in quick, to say Happy Halloween!!

hawkins_jill_happy-halloween_wmThese Monster stamps and dies are all from Avery Elle! Soooooo fun! I have been pining to get my hands on them, and I took the opportunity to borrow a friend’s at our recent crafty retreat! Love these little guys! πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_happy-halloween_00_wmI colored them with Copic Markers, die cut, and then pieced it all together. This AE Burst die though! πŸ™‚ Top of my AE wishlist. I used it at least 10 times while there. Fantastic!

Ok…gotta blaze the day! Have a fun Halloween! πŸ™‚ ❀

Six! 6! Seis!

Geesh! I have not made a card in many days! I don’t know how long it has been, but awhile. Mid-August to Mid/Late September is action packed around here! It’s been fun/busy/crazy for certain, but I am looking forward to regularly scheduled programming again. Or Christmas break, whichever gets here first! πŸ™‚

Anyway, a quick share today to freshen’ things up around here!

hawkins_jill_6_00_wmI made some little gift cards for my son’s friends a while back. Well, he wanted a fish birthday card too! So voila! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_6_wmI used Avery Elle’s super fun fish: That Bites. Of course, searching for this stamp set link, I see there are many new Avery Elle stamps that I will be adding to my wishlist! Dang. Love that peeps keep making the Awesome! πŸ™‚

Oh, also, I used Avery Elle’s Numbered Balloons.

Here’s the fun cards I made prior (in progress, that is.):

hawkins_jill_fish_wmI did actually remember to take a pic after I finished them, but no time to hunt it down now! πŸ™‚

Ok…gotta run! Happy Birthday to my favorite little man! I love him so. ❀
