You Deserve…

Happy Weekend! Just popping in with a fun card to share. I stamped these little coffee cups from Ellen Hutson’s Everyday Doodles by Julie Ebersole in a few colors on some other panels. They make QUICK cards and I just love the coffee cup best in this set! πŸ™‚ I love to offset the stamps slightly. Sometimes maybe more than I intended. shhhhh! πŸ˜‰

A friend of mine had a light bulb moment, when she said, make the coffee cups GREEN! Yes!! It’s such a fun nod to the whole Starbucks scene….green, stars, and obviously coffee! πŸ™‚

For this card, I used Ellen Hutson’s Everyday Doodles by Julie Ebersole (and the coordinating dies HERE) with the sentiment from Voices In My Head by Julie Ebersole. oh Julie–you are trouble! πŸ™‚

I made a handful of other cards with the Every Day Doodles set, so we’ll see if I can get around to sharing those sometime this calendar year too!Β  πŸ™‚

Have a great weekend!! πŸ™‚

Toucan Paradise | Concord & 9th Fun!

Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing my second post as a Concord & 9th Guest Designer for July and their Feature Friday series! Be sure to check out their projects on the Concord & 9th Blog HERE too! πŸ™‚

Both cards today feature the new Toucan Paradise Bundle. It is such a perfect set for my current vibe: Summer, Tropical, Hot. πŸ™‚

This toucan is so fun and I love that he can be stamped in pieces to change up the colors. I masked off a section and then stamped all the elements within that section with bright and cheerful colors.

I stamped the toucan and die cut him out with a branch, adhering him with foam tape. I added some reverse scored lines on the opposite side for added texture. I really enjoy how simple and crisp this one turned out in the end.

My second card is a little wild! πŸ™‚ It too features the Toucan Paradise Bundle, just keeping it simple with a background and sentiment.

I stamped the sentiment with VersamarkΒ  on vellum and used sparkly embossing powder. It looks awesome in when it catches the light. ❀ I stitched it all down on top of the centered stamped elements. I only wish I had stamped a few of these background all at the same time, because I love the look of these stamps all together. πŸ™‚

You can find the whole lot of new Concord & 9th products HERE. And if you’re a bundle person, get it all HERE.

I hope you have been inspired to try something BRIGHT and tropical! Please be sure to check out the post on Concord & 9th’s Blog today to see both Carrie and Karen’s projects too! SURE to be fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you missed my post last week, you can check that one out HERE.

Have a GREAT weekend!

Concord & 9th

Today is an exciting day, as I’m joining Concord & 9th as a Guest Designer for July and their Feature Friday series—-I could NOT be more excited!! πŸ™‚ I have always enjoyed seeing this feature and I am delighted to participate this month! Many thanks to Concord & 9th for having me <3….I have been having a grand ol’ time, that’s for sure! Also designing this month are Carrie Rhoades and Karen Reategui! Be sure to check out their projects on the Concord & 9th Blog HERE too! πŸ™‚

On with the cards– That’s why we are all here, right?Β  πŸ™‚

This first card features the new Sew Pretty Dies, Joyful Tiles Turnabout Stencil Pack, and Tropical Vibes Dies. If you haven’t hand stitched a card, I highly recommend giving a go. It creates a lovely added element to each card–and these dies make it quick work. I stitch while watching TV–because I can rarely just sit. πŸ™‚

This “hello” sentiment is perfect for many occasions–I stitched it in dark (navy) blue.Β  I thought it would be fun to stencil the base first, before stitching. Have you used a Turnabout Stencil? It functions just like a Turnabout Stamp. I use my Misti for corner to hold the stencil in place and get the tight fit. πŸ™‚

I thought the flowers, scoring and stitching added the perfect finishing touch! πŸ™‚

Next up, I used the Sew Pretty Bundle and the new Tropical Vibes Turnabout stamp for the sentiment.

I thought it would be fun to stitch up the diamond a little different, and it turned out pretty cool! The trick for this specific look, is to have two colors going at the same time, so you can stitch them alternating, as you go. You can do one color at a time, it just creates a more layered look vs. integrated. Both are fun! πŸ™‚

Next up, I have a sweet stamped little number… This card features the Sew Pretty Stamp set.

I stamped the Hello with a dark blue and then magically found the matching Copic to fill in the outlined Hello. (Insider tidbit: This was completely a strike of luck to find the right color straightaway. Haaa! This will likely never occur again.) I simply adore the “from all of us” sentiment. Just delightful!

For the background, I masked off some stripes with Post it tape and blended on some ink. I stitched the panel on to complete the card.

…So I might have made a few cards because I could not stop! πŸ™‚

This next card features the Sew Pretty Bundle. There are so many possibilities with the stamp and die combos, especially because you can leave the diamond open or complete it, adding a little extra die piece to pierce the holes. This is likely my most straight forward card, if you will.Β  A lovely little number to give to the Bride & Groom!

It’s also delightful that in the bundle, you receive the floss and needles to stitch with. So when you receive your goodies, you are ready to rock! πŸ™‚ The floss colors are all fabulous and go together swimmingly.

I added the simple stitched line and score lines to finish it all off.

And last but not least, is the first card I made! This card again features the Sew Pretty Bundle.

I stamped the diamonds to overlap each other. I originally had three colors of ink to use, and grabbed the wrong one to lay down the last diamonds. But don’t tell anyone. *winkΒ  So if I made this one again, I’m not sure if I’d use two inks or three, as was originally intended…?

This green floss might be my favorite in the bundle. πŸ™‚ Its lovely. Perfect to say hello!
Well, I find my bucket of photos is now empty! πŸ™‚ As you can see, I really enjoyed exploring lots of possibilities with these new stamps and dies. And I still want to try a few other things. I’m hoping to get those done sometime in the next weeks–there should be some new seasons to binge watch soon!?Β  πŸ˜‰

You can find the whole lot of new Concord & 9th products HERE. And if you’re a bundle person, get it all HERE.

I hope you have been inspired to try your hand at making something fun and possibly explore trying something a little “different” with them too! Please be sure to check out the post on Concord & 9th’s Blog today to see ALLLLLLL the fun!

Happy stitching–thanks so much for stopping by!

Just Keep Swimming!

Happy Fourth of July! I thought I’d share a fun little summer holiday card today! This one goes in the mail tomorrow! ❀

For this card, I used Ellen Hutson’s Beach Lady (and the coordinating dies HERE), Pattern Play, and the sentiment from Mermaid’s Tail.

I colored the crabs blue with Copic Markers and stamped the little pattern with a bit of an ombre-like look. I think this card screams summer! So fun! πŸ™‚

Have a great and safe holiday!! πŸ™‚

Hola! Thought I’d pop in quick to share a fun little card using Ellen Hutson’s So Matcha (and the coordinating dies are HERE). My friend and I still laugh at saying Matcha, so I had to make and send her a card. ❀

I colored everything with Copic Markers and because I don’t have the dies, I just trimmed her outΒ  using good old fashioned fussy cutting! πŸ™‚

The background I blended on some ink to a Neat & Tangled Geometric Blooms stencil. This isn’t the same one, but it is in the same vein called Hexastar.

I was excited to send this–because real mail is THE best! ❀

Also–exciting news today as the latest addition of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine just came out! It’s the Summer Issue and it is seriously DELIGHTFUL!!!! I have three fun cards in this issue! Two all about rainbow action and third involves Vanilla Ice! Yup! Eeeep! If you don’t already know, the designers are amazing and the writing and the way this magazine is put together is just so fantastic!! It’s incredible to be included…truly! ❀

You can always get the printed issues that can be mailed to you with a subscription or you can find them at Barnes and Noble too! You can follow the SCT Blog HERE and check out this latest issue HERE as well!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope your Summer has kicked off to an amazing start! Happy Summer! πŸ™‚

You + Me + Coffee

Today, I’m here to share a fun little card using Ellen Hutson’s Bear Ware 3 (and coordinating dies HERE) and of course, the original, All Inside with dies HERE! I mean, I’m pretty sure he’s my favorite bear of all and he needs to hold ALL. THE. THINGS. πŸ˜‰

I colored everything with Copics. The background I stamped a little ombre with a stamp from Pattern Play.

I think this turned out pretty darn cute (because how could this cutie not be?) and I can’t wait to send it to a friend! ❀

Thanks for stopping by!

Some fun with Avery Elle!

Hello! Popping in today to share a couple cards I made using some fun new Avery Elle products!

This first one features theΒ  Peek-A-Boo Car with the coordinating die. When I saw this car, I just knew it had to drive over to my house! I mean–eeep!! My son is going to love this car and put everyone in it! ha!!

This cutie driver and passenger is from the AE set Peek-A-Boo Pets and coordinating dies. I mean, that cow and chicken! ha! Too cute!!

For this card, I masked off a piece of Bristol paper and blended on some Distress Oxide and Distress Inks. I think splattered on some water and black paint to give it a little texture. I colored the car and critters with Copic Markers on X-press It Blending Card. So fun!!

(A quick note that X-press It Blending Card is 50% off through tonight, June 9 11:59 PST! Use code blending50 to take advantage! Such a great deal. I’m trying not to buy them out myself! Click HEREΒ for the big pack or for the smaller pack HERE. πŸ™‚ If you’ve never tried this blending card, I cannot recommend it more. I use only two cardstocks to color with Copics, and this is one. It blends like butta! ❀ )

Next up, I switched to watercolor. Watercolor always seems like my go-to for underwater things…Logical, right? πŸ˜‰ This card uses the new Avery Elle set CelebRAYtion! Our son is super in Manta Rays right now, and I knew he’d love this fun set!

I used Distress Inks for the watercolored background on this one after white heat embossing the sentiment and images. I kept it fairly simple from there though. πŸ™‚

Looking forward to giving these fun cards and making more! I also can’t wait to get my hands on a few more things Avery Elle recently released….and let’s be honest, things that were released a couple months back too. Trouble! πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your Sunday!

Take care– Jill πŸ™‚
