This is one of the Altenew stamp sets I wanted for quite some time. I am drawn to geometric images. I love lines, which is good because I drew thousands of them, with a pencil (!), in college/grad school!! 😉
I first embossed and painted in the fish from the Altenew Ori Kami stamp set. (This card I used Distress Inks to watercolor with.) They came out awesome. Then, I had to paint the water. Eeek! I didn’t want to botch it! There is a little overrun of the paint in places I didn’t want it, but hey, that’s watercolor and handmade, right?Watercolors always dry differently than they look initially. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. 🙂 Either way, fun to do!

The problem with cardmaking:There are so many fun products to use! 🙂 I have missed using one of my favorites, Lawn Fawn. So I got these little penguins out because I wanted to make a couple more cards for The Caring Hearts Card Drive. My crafty friend Vera Yates is embarking on her 6th year hosting this card drive. What an undertaking! Vera is surely brightening the holidays for many, many people. Be sure to check out the info and get your cards in the mail yesterday!! The deadline is this week! ❤
Here is one of my finished cards. I’m mailing all my cards tomorrow! 🙂
I usually go with gray penguins, but I thought I’d mix it up. They are also sparkly in person. 🙂 I am also happy because of the current Lawnscaping Challenge #118! Hooray! Be sure to check it out. 🙂 I enjoy a fun challenge! 🙂
Lawn Fawn supplies: Winter Penguin, Love ‘n Breakfast. 😉

Sometimes you look back at cards you’ve made and, let’s be honest, gag. Others you still enjoy! Even if now, you might do something a little different, perhaps. That’s the case with this card. But overall, I love the look of this layered stamping and pigment inks. Even if now, I see my stamping is a wee bit wonky. 🙂
