Taylored Expressions: Teacher and Grad Release!

One of the cards I make the most is Teacher cards and so for me, it’s a fun day atย  Taylored Expressions –there are lots of new goodies to celebrate all the Teachers and Grads in our lives! ๐Ÿ™‚

First up today, I am using the new Full Circle-School. I stamped it, heat embossed it and then I die cut it with one of my most used stacklets for such occasions: Apple Stacklets.

I decided this would be fun on a Mini Slim card and so I used both the Mini Slim Stitched Stacklets and the Mini Slim Petite Scallop Stacklets. I also stamped the Full Circle-School in tone-on-tone with Toffee ink on Toffee cardstock. I seem to use Toffee often on Teacher cards? I think that might be because I like it with the Red Pepper apple. ๐Ÿ™‚

I added a bit of twine to the stem after I blended on some green inks. I white heat embossed the sentiment on vellum and stitched that on the panel. Before I adhered everything to the card base, I decided to blend on some Sugar Cube ink to the Oreo top fold Mini Slim card. To finish it off, I used the new Cosmic Bits!

Next up, I thought I’d veer from a typical Teacher card color palette. I love how this turned out! I used the new I Pick You stamp and stencil.

I used Confetti Cake with the stencil and stamped the apples with Granny Smith, Cupcake and Toffee. I love these stamps that have the coordinating little dies for cutting out the little apples (or pumpkins, snowmen, etc. in the past). Pretty sure I definitely need to order another little apple die.

I thought this was a fun and a slightly different way to put on the sentiment. Of course, in true Jill style, I used the same sentiment on both cards today! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I don’t know how I do that, but I do it all the time. However, I promise there are lots of great sentiments in this set besides the one I used, twice! haaaa!

Oh and I stamped the Inside Scoop- Teacher on the inside and completely forgot to take a photo of that. Another thing I do all the time! ๐Ÿ™‚ Ack!

And BONUS TIME!! There is a NEW Big Grumpy Grad download to make some fun celebratory cards for Graduation and really, for anytime. There are a few sentiments that work for everyday congrats too, which I love!

I was laughing so heard when I read this one! ๐Ÿ™‚

I colored Big Grumpy-Bear with Copic Markers and then masked off this background area before using the Confetti Toss stencil and Stickles-Nebula paste. I love that Nebula paste because it has these cute little stars in it too! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up, I thought it would be fun to use this sentiment. Also usuable for so many occasions. ๐Ÿคฃ Congrats you took out the trash! Here’s a card! I kid, but you know what I’m saying. I love this little bit of snark for everyday or for those Grads with the same silly sense of humor too. ๐Ÿ™‚

I made this background with the Masking Stencils-Stars (I used it and shifted it around a bit to use it again) and the Diagonal Stitched Square Stacklets. So fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

This sentiment is a trip. And if you haven’t used these Free Big Grumpy sentiments before, it is very easy to do. Check out the information for printing and stamping them over on the TE Blog and website.

I colored Big Grumpy on both with Copic Markers.ย  These two are some of my all time faves of my TE stash.

TE Individual Kit Pieces!

Happy New Week! Anyone else sort of spinning in circles like me? Ha!

Well anyway, onto fun news instead–Today, ย Taylored Expressions is releasing products from a few kits. These products were previously only available in the kits, but now can be purchased individually at Taylored Expressions today! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m sharing two cards I made with individual kit pieces. First up, the Frayed Edge Masking stencil from the Field Notes kits–completely versatile for ANY project! I figured I need a few more of these cards, so I created a fun double stenciled background using the Frayed Edge Masking stencilย and the Criss Cross Stencil. Of course this partnered with Big Grumpy and the Farewell 2020 Download.

I cannot have enough of these before the end of the year! haaaaaaaaaaa! ๐Ÿ™‚

So true, so true. Sorry 2020.

Next up, I used the sentiment set called Good Vibes from the Hey There Kit. This sentiment set is a fave, especially these days. Need these sentiments so much right now! ๐Ÿ™‚

I decided to make a trio of cards in hopes I’d send them out in the mail this week…they are needed elsewhere, not in my stash! ๐Ÿ™‚

Pretty straightforward–I blocked out some strips of cardstock and then die cut them with the Mini Slim Trifold Template and the Stitched Mini Slim Stacklets. This is very clean look and easy to replicate in so many different options.ย

I added some scoring to the Toffee Card bases, some stitching and some Clear Drip Drops. I love having this stack to send out! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love making a stack at time, but I often don’t think ahead like that. I am getting better though! ๐Ÿ™‚

Did someone say…New Year?

Anyone else ready to celebrate a NEW YEAR like NEVER BEFORE? I am!! So let’s get the 2021 Party started early! We are doing just that over at Taylored Expressions today… These products are available today, November 3rd! ๐Ÿ™‚

First up, I have my main man Big Grumpy and he is SPOT on with this fun new sentiment which is a FREE Download! You must enjoy the sentiments in this set–so so funny! This one is just the truth. ๐Ÿ™‚

I colored him with Copic Markers and added the background using the Star Masking Stencils and the little stamps from the Tag Team Birthday set. I thought it turned out so festive, especially considering how grumpy he is! ha! I also added a little Stickles Gel to the part of the Stars to give it some shimmer! ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh, and his little hat is from the Big Grumpy-Birthday set.

Next up, is the new Party Popper Stencil. This one reminds me of popping one of those confetti things and watching it spray out! ๐Ÿ™‚ I used the recently released Pastel Blender Brushes. โค

And instead of being disgruntled about 2020, I went with a Hello New Year sentiment using the previously released Over the Rainbow Sentiment (for the “hello”) and the NEW On Repeat: New Year!ย  You get a hand full of New Year sentiments all in one swoop! Dig that a lot! ๐Ÿ™‚

I decided to make it into a shaker with the cutie’s from the set Life of the Party. This card ended up screaming Party! New Year! So fun! ๐Ÿ™‚ This would be great to receive to welcome in 2021! A party in the mail!

I have high high hopes for 2021, so here’s hoping! ๐Ÿ™‚

Taylored Expressions meets Laurie Willison!

Oh happiest of crafty days today to finally share this AWESOMENESS!!! My friend, Laurie Willison thought up this fantastic and oh so handy new set of stencils and they are available now from Taylored Expressions! I’ve waited so long to say this, so I will say it again: These stencils are available over at Taylored Expressions now! ๐Ÿ˜Š

My first card today uses one of the new circle stencils in a different way than I’ve mostly used them for. And let me tell you how quick this is! Imagine the possibilities! Gah!!

I recommend spraying the stencils with Thermoweb’s Pixie Spray for quick and easy up stick to your cardstock. (You can also simple secure with Purple Tape.) I then just wipe the stencil clean with a dry cloth between blending on colors and it goes really swiftly!

I love the simplicity of these stencils and the ease of them. Rainbow action for the win! ๐Ÿ™‚ I used a sentiment from the Handlettered Sentiments and coordinating dies. Those are a fave set!

Next up, an example of what I pretty muchย  use these awesome stencils for all the time–masking off a frame on my card fronts. I have always used a t-ruler, pencil and post-it tape/notes. Yes, this method is still just fine. But NOW, soooo quick and easy with these stencils. PLUS, I don’t have to erase pencil lines–and risk smearing inks. AND I don’t get pencil lines trapped under ink! Hooray!!

Of course, I had to use theย  Set the Scene Clouds with these stencils. For a full stencil, I put the stencil on the bottom and the masking stencil over top. But because these clouds are in strips and you have to move them, I did the masking stencil on the bottom and the clouds on top. Naturally, Big Grumpy had to make another appearance with his little sign of too peopley! Which just makes me laugh every time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love that you can create this layered look in one layer, if you wanted to! These stencils are an essential cardmaking staple in my mind! ๐Ÿ™‚ Way to go, LDubs!! โค I’m excited for Laurie and Taylored Expressions that this all came together! ๐Ÿ™‚

The stencils have etched lines to show where to put your card panel or card base. One outline is for a full A2 card and the other is for a “typical” card front panel (matte, if you will), 4 x 5.25.

Here’s a little tip: You can rub in a little acrylic paint into the grooves and it make the lines more evident without interfering with the use of the stencil in anyway. And the paint stays on there. I used white, but you could use any bright color you want to create contrast.

11 years and counting at Taylored Expressions!

Sinceย  Taylored Expressions is celebrating 11 years, let’s keep this party rolling! ๐Ÿ™‚

This first card features the new Birthday Background, Birthday Basics, Simple Strips โ€“ Birthday and the previously released Hip Hop Bunny. If you have followed my taste in humor, you know this card absolutely puts me in stitches!! I laugh all over when I see this again!ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

The Hip Hop Bunny alone, with his oh so pleased look–and then insult to injury, Another Year Closer to Velcro shoes–I cannot stop laughing!

The TE Blender Brushes made super quick work of this background of course, and I love that easy blend with the TE dye inks. His little hat all tipped completes his look of great *joy*! I threw some silver thread behind him and added some stitching, as always. I just think he’s a riot. Hot Stuff. I die.

Next up, I have a silly little number using the new Big Grumpy sentimentย and the previously released Little Monsters.

The weirdest thing about this card is how that blended background sort of glows in person. I don’t even know how I did it and I’ll likely never accomplish that again. ha!! This Here Comes the Sun stencil with the Taylored Expressions Blending Brushes and dye inks is delightful.

I have the perfect friend to send this one to! โค

Be sure to check out all the fun the Creative Team has made to celebrate TE’s 11 years!! ๐Ÿ™‚
