I wasn’t sure how this would be with the plaid patterned paper….but sure enough, I find it delightful! The pens in the pocket slay me! 🙂

This sentiment is from the new stamp set called Daddy Yo 2–How fun is “Mantastic? ❤

Paper Smooches: Dress Shirt Dies, Daddy Yo 2, Power Rays Die.

The Cutest Video Hop Ever!

Helllllllooooo and welcome to our stop on The Cutest Video Hop Ever!  My son and I are VERY excited and grateful to be joining Emily Leiphart for this fun hop, inspiring the next generation of crafters!  We hope you have as much fun watching us craft with our kids–or in my case, watching my son craft! Ha!

Thanks so much to our very generous sponsors who have donated over 30 prizes for this hop. Sit back and enjoy!

My only contribution to his card was stamping and diecutting all the critters for him. You’ll be able to tell, he handled all the rest (and then some) himself. He REALLY likes to chat and has SO MUCH to say. Believe it or not, I actually trimmed this WAY down. Unfortunately or fortunately, you will miss out on all the banter about restaurants, allergies, Minecraft, 2nd Grade, etc. But you will learn about Spring, Dog Man, half birthdays, bees, snails, extra teeth and so much other goodness. I do love him so! ❤

Please note: I do not make videos. For those who do, I always admire you because it take a great deal of time to do an amateur version, I can’t imagine completing a finessed version! 🙂

Here is our video ❤ :

Be sure to check out Emily’s YouTube ChannelThanks again, Emily! ❤ It takes an amazing amount of time and effort and it is so worth it to see the kids create! 🙂

Paradise Found Release Blog Hop, Day 2!

Hello! Welcome to my stop on this fun Blog Hop to celebrate Catherine Pooler’s new Spa Ink Release and Paradise Found products!!

I could not enjoy the new inks more! My favorite might be the Green Tea! And I did NOT see that coming! Haaaa! 🙂

How about some cards? Yes- Onward!

I stamped the new Plaid Background with the Sauna Ink and then added some black lines with a fine black pen. I like how it pulled some of the black into the background. I then cut the scalloped panel (gulp!) and stitched it on to my card base before adhering the white embossed sentiment. I die cut the Best die a couple of times and layered that up, adhering that along with a tiny heart for the Tags, etc. Dies (Counting Blessing SOA Collection).

This is one of those cards that grew on me over time. At first I almost binned it, but I’m glad it stuck it out because it is now a fave! 🙂

My next card uses the Birds of a Feather stamp set and the new Birds of a Feather Die.

How awesome are these new ink colors?! ❤ them! They are: Daydream, Mandarin Spice and Green Tea. (Watch out Tutti Frutti, there’s a new orange in town 🙂 )

For this, I inked up the large feather from the Birds of a Feather set, and stamped them all on white cardstock. I die cut them all out with the new die and gave them a slight score line to fold along before stitching and pinching them upward. I scored the card panel and adhered all to my card base. Fun!

This next card I’m sharing today, uses the new Winter Wonderland stamp set. The little critters on this set are very cute and there are lots of little detail stamps that help make a complete scene easily.

I stamped the trees in my new a fore mentioned fave, Green Tea. The red elements are stamped in Peppermint Scrub and the deer is stamped in Icing on the Cake. Oh, and the snowflakes are stamped in second generation of Black Jack. Catherine’s inks work awesome for that technique– which is fabulous if you’d like just a lighter version of a color.

It’s such a cozy little scene!

Next up, a card featuring the new Small Doily die and stamps from the Medallion Mix-Up Stamp set. Again, I used the new Green Tea color for tag. 🙂 The tag and the hearts are from the previous Counting Blessings SOA Collection–the Tags, etc. Dies.

This card was very tricky to photograph at a good angle. I also didn’t predict that challenge–ha! But in person, it looks very delicate and lovely cut from vellum and folded up to create a flower type element. This card is going to be for my Grandmother on her 94th Birthday next week!  ❤

I again scored the card panel and stitched everything on to the card base after adding some twine to the tag. This card turned out so lovely! I can’t wait to give it to my Grannie. 🙂

I hope you have enjoyed my stop along this hop! I ended up having several cards because once I started creating, they just kept coming! And I still have two more to share in the future!

Be sure to check out all the stops along today’s hop (and yesterday’s!) (and tomorrow’s!)!

Essentials by Ellen Blog Hop! :)

I am SO excited to share a couple of cards I made for the new Essentials by Ellen Release! What an awesomely fun opportunity to help celebrate another fabulous release! Hooray! Let’s check out some cards! 🙂

This first card is made with the new Abstract Paint Strokes by Julie Ebersole AND this new sentiment from Totally Random Sayings Vol. 1 by Julie Ebersole. That Julie!! Good gravy–always knocking it out of the park! 🙂

How fun is this?! I stamped the one dotty dash stamp repeatedly with a bunch of different inks.  This went remarkably quick, once I figured out what I wanted to do! 🙂 It almost looks like one full background stamp, doesn’t it? Love a rainbow! 🙂

To finish off this card, I just white heat embossed the sentiment, added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins, and a few stitched lines. 🙂

The second card I made to celebrate, uses the same Abstract Paint Strokes set. I thought it would be fun to make some mushrooms! That was the first thing I thought of when I saw these round stamps. 🙂

I finished this card off with some enamel dots and some stitches. I enjoy this card’s simplicity and pops of yellow. 🙂 If I made it again, I’d do some extra shadow stamping on the ‘shrooms to give them a little more gusto. Stamp and learn, huh? 😉

Here’s a better look at these sets. You can click on them to go directly to Ellen Hutson’s website.

Sending envelopes full of gratitude to everyone at Ellen Hutson for having me along again!! This is an awesome release with a crazy amount of possibilities! I sure love that, and have greatly enjoyed working with all these new goodies! 🙂

I posted a couple more New Release cards on my blog Sunday. You can find that post HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today and have fun hopping on to Ardyth’s stop next! Ardyth is sure to have some serious goodness to check out: Ardyth Percy-Robb  <—Hop hop! 🙂

Are you ready for my cards?! I am! I really enjoyed playing with this collection! 🙂

Oh my word! THIS LEAF! ❤ ! For this card, I used several of the products in the box. The tag and scalloped panel are from the Tag, Etc. Dies. I die cut the Thankful die a few times and layered it up for some pop! The leaf is cut using the Falling Leaf dies. (I adhered them, and then stitched them like crazy! 😉 ) I used the Marching Leaves stencil on the background. (This stencil is definitely one of my favorite things in this box– ❤ !!!!)

I love this color combo that shook out during the process! 😉

Next up, is a celebration card showing the versatility of this collection! I think this color combo is so festive! ALL Catherine Pooler’s bold color inks are a stamper’s dream! Very inky, but not TOO inky. You know what I mean? 😉 Those can be found HERE.

For this card, I used the following products from this collection: The Tags, Etc. Dies, Good Things stamp set, and the Leaf Motifs stamp set.

I used my favorite CP color, Tutti Frutti, on many of my SOA projects this month! I can’t stop. 🙂  For this card, I also used the new gray Black Jack, Party Dress, Tiara and Fiesta Blue!

This collection is FULL of possibilities! I myself, am super loving all the graphic elements in it!

Stamp of Approval Blog Hop!

Happy Monday!! Today I have the fun opportunity to participate along with The Stamp of Approval Naturally Inspired Collection Blog Hop! What fun I’ve had working with this party in a box, delivered to my door! The Stamp of Approval Collection is an exclusive collection. These individual products were designed just for this collection box. Each product is a brand new design, and will not be available again from Catherine Pooler Designs for many months. Make sure you subscribe to the wait list to get first notice of the sales link…these collections sell out quickly! You can get on the waitlist here: WWW.CPSTAMPOFAPPROVAL.COM

The question for this hop is: What keeps you naturally inspired? My answer is pretty simple: COLOR! I love to mix up different and random color combinations. I find combinations of color randomly in catalogs, stores, advertisements, fashion, home decor, paper goods, in my scrap discard pile (most used source), etc. I  find that the most unexpected color combinations are often the ones I like best. Of course, I also always trust a good rainbow color combo too, as I did below today! 🙂 The rainbow will never fail us! 🙂

On with the party! I mean, cards! 😉

For these cards, I used the following from this collection: Wild Garden Stamp Set, Simply the Best Stamp Set, and the Best die. I also used all Catherine Pooler bold color inks. Those can be found HERE.

How festive is this Wild Garden stamp set?! It has Spring and Summer written all over it! I shocked and amazed myself that I had the forethought to create two of these cards (altering the sentiment) at the same time! I think that is a huge perk of this collection: The sentiments can be changed up so easily to make dozens of sayings! 🙂

You’re the Best! I really ❤ the font style of this *best* die. It’s pretty awesome.

I die cut the word a few times and layered them up for pow! I then adhered the other heat embossed sentiments with foam adhesive.

I love all these ink colors together! ❤  The Catherine Pooler inks are all juicy and stamp well, with very little little effort. A huge win in my book. My favorite color is Tutti Frutti. It’s an awesome orange-red and it’s called Tutti Frutti for cryin’ out. 🙂

I thought I’d share another rainbow inspired card, this time with more of a graphic take:

These sentiment stamps ROCK! Sending You Laughter! Perfect! 🙂 And I know exactly who I am sending this one too! I used the same Catherine Pooler bold ink colors.

For this card, I again used the Simply the Best Stamp Set as well as the Birds of a Feather Stamp Set. This crosshatch stamp is great for stamp kissing techniques too!

Be sure to leave comments along the way for the BLOG HOP PRIZE!

One winner will be chosen at random from each day’s comments and announced on June 9 on Catherine Pooler’s blog. The winners will win their box and if they already bought it, they will be issued a Gift Certificate worth $100 towards a future purchase.

The Cutest Video Hop Ever!

logo_finalHappy ❤ Day, and welcome to The Cutest Video Hop Ever!  My son and I are VERY excited and grateful to be joining Emily Leiphart for this fun hop celebrating 5000 subscribers on her YouTube channel but, more importantly, inspiring the next generation of crafters!  We hope you have as much fun watching us craft with our kids, as much as we enjoyed creating these projects to share with you.  We are also proud to have two very inspiring young crafters joining us on their own YouTube channels.

I prepped everything, and my son colored all the critters. Afterwards, he excitedly shouted, in a *chop chop* fastion, “Ok, let’s make the video!” I started to explain what the overall plan was, and he said he wanted to do it all on his own, HIS way. Perfect! (But I wasn’t sure what to expect! haaa!) He started, finished twenty minutes later (including our glue mishaps), and that was that! 🙂  Bam! 🙂

Please note: I have NEVER crafted a video before, so be warned. From the filming, to editing, it is all new to me. My son however, seems to be a natural at the instruction. Who knew?!

Here is our video ❤ :

I think these are so stinkin’ cute! Our family and his friends are going to love them! 🙂
hawkins_ps-valentines

He put pom poms on that little Paper Smooches sheep! So cute! 🙂

I laugh because he colored this one Technique Tuesday fox fairly traditionally, and the other is a party! Also, one gets all the Tootsie Rolls? LOL. Love it! 🙂hawkins_tt-valentines

Here are a few cards I colored using Elena’s new Just Me Digital Stamps–so stinkin’ cute!! 🙂
hawkins_jill-valentine
I colored all these with Copic Markers. The images are so sweet, and it is easy to download and print them yourself! Another first for me on this hop: Digital Stamps! And…now I want them all! LOL 🙂hawkins_jill-smore2
These frame dies and the heart dies my son used, are all from My Favorite Things. hawkins_jill-smore_01
Oooops, a little stitching blooper on this one above! shhhh! 🙂
hawkins_jill_love_wm
This Technique Tuesday card is made with the Long Love die. It is super delicate, so I recommend using one of the sticky papers so you can die cut all at once to adhere. The hearts are from the Heart Strings die. Awwwww love. 🙂
jill_i-love-you-die_01

And, last, but not least, is this valentine using Paper Smooches I Love You die and the For You tag die. This one is for my hubby, so I thought the gray was perfect to “man” it up a bit. This is a fun die for many occasions! 🙂

I want to give a HUGE HUGE thanks out to Emily, for first, being crazy enough to ask my son and me to join this hop. And secondly, for her encouragement to make this video and edit it. I can’t say whether or not I’ll ever craft another video, but I will say it was a very good thing to try. (I embedded this video link above and felt so accomplished! LOL!!). My son will likely request to make another 🙂 . I always enjoy a challenge…Even if I did miss a typo in the video. Bwaaahaaaa! I did that on “purpose”… wink wink! Thanks again, Emily! 🙂

Thanks for joining us today…be sure you hop on to Laura Bassen (& leave comments too for a chance at the fantastic prizes!). Laura’s videos are inspiring and I always find myself laughing out loud! Her daughter is sure to add even more fun! 🙂

Signing off!
