Thanks a Bunch!

I so enjoy making cards to send with Ellen Hutson’s All Inside stamp and die set. That cute little bear and the fonts are perfecto! Well, now this cutie has all sorts of things he can hold! If you saw my card HERE, you know I looooove this idea! 🙂

hawkins_jill_thnxabunch_00_wmOh my word! This just makes me smile!! 🙂

hawkins_jill_thnxabunch_wmI had the good fortune (and may have been a little excited!) to be randomly selected for the Ellen Hutson gift card last month, so I figured, it was a sign I should get the new Bear Ware and Warm Fuzzies! Right? Obviously. 😉

I blended Distress Inks onto this panel. If I recall, the inks I used were: Fired Brick, Abandoned Coral, Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, and a little Carved Pumpkin to round it all out. Then I stamped the sentiment strip, and stitched it on. I used my Zig pens and Kuretake watercolors to color the bear and his wares. 🙂

The colors I chose were inspired by the Pin Sights Challenge going on over at Ellen Hutson right now. As well as narrowing my choice to using the flowers first! See photo inspiration below. 🙂

I also used a My Favorite Things die: Blueprints #13.

I’m entering this in the Essentials by Ellen August Pin-Sights Challenge.Check it out.

MFT Color Challenge #51

Here’s my take on MFT Color Challenge #51! These challenges come from the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!

I thought I would use the Happy Birthday Centerpieces die cut, and change it up a smidgen. 🙂

hawkins_jill_HB_wmIt has a bit of an 80’s feel to it, doesn’t it? 🙂

hawkins_jill_HB_00_wmAnd now that I have these die cuts in all four colors, I am ready to make 3 more cards!! 🙂 Bonus! 🙂

More MFT Supplies: BG Grid Background and Blueprints 13. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

with LOVE

I needed to whip up some more love to send. I once again grabbed the Ellen Hutson’s All Inside stamp and die set. This time, I tried not to use the cutie bear. It’s so hard. He’s so sweet! 🙂  🙂

hawkins_jill_love love love__wmI was inspired by the Pin Sights Challenge going on over at Ellen Hutson currently, so I used that as a jumping point. Fun summer colors and lots of white!! Delightful! 🙂

hawkins_jill_love love love_00_wmI am always alarmed when I realize how many of one color stamp pad I have. I don’t know why, because I have been collecting them for years! So yeah, I have a few. 😉 This technique would also work famously if you just use one/couple colors and double stamp/stamp off once/twice.

I also used a My Favorite Things die: Blueprints #13.

I’m entering this in the Ellen Hutson July Pin-Sights Challenge.Check it out.

Sending Hugs | MFT Sketch 291

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #291. My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!photoI used the scene I made last night for #thedailymarker30day. I was all set to turn in early, so I was planning something simple and quick. But then, this happened! Haaa! So much masking and then I colored in with both my Zig markers and Distress Inks as watercolors. I kinda botched painting the Ferris Wheel back there, but it was too late to turn back. It isn’t tragic, right?  🙂 I finished the card with some stitching, and matted the whole panel.

hawkins_jill_sending hugs_wmI used the Sketch as a guide for this scene. Can you see the inspiration? It is definitely there! 🙂

These are a couple of my favorite MFT stamp sets: London Mouse and Label Maker Love by My Favorite Things. 🙂

Freaking Amazing. MFT Sketch 284

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #284. This challenge come from the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!photoI love to mix up colors, so I used Spearmint, Persimmon, Nightshift and Cement Gray. ahhhh 🙂

hawkins_jill_amazing_00_wmI die cut the chevron stripes and used the one in between as another strip. If you don’t snip them apart, you actually get three different chevron strips vs. two. Hopefully I can keep them together! I laid those up, then die cut them into the peek-a-boo circle. Inlaid that, die cut some lines, embossed on vellum, and stitched on the sentiment. LOVE the “You are Freaking Amazing” stamp. I always reach for it. 🙂

I took this photo both early this morning, and just this evening. Neither time grabbed the colors fantastically, but so it goes. A never-ending issue. 🙂hawkins_jill_amazing_wmMy card is made with supplies at My Favorite Things. Die-namics: Blueprints 13, Chevron Stripes, LJD Peek-a-boo Circle Windows, Basic Stitched Lines. Stamps: Amazing. Card stock: Spearmint, Persimmon, Cement Gray, Smooth White and Nightshift.

The Places You’ll Flamin-GO!

Still snickering about this fun little Lawn Fawn set, Flamingo Together! The light bulb went on when I realized this flamingo wanted to graduate! 🙂

hawkins_jill_flamin-go_wmToooo fun! I paired the Flamingo Together set with the new Lawn Fawn Smart Cookie set, and bam,  a graduate! 🙂

I colored the images with Copics, and then blended on some Distress Ink for the background, finishing it up with some Wink of Stella sparkle, and a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins. The die cut frames are all from My Favorite Things.

hawkins_jill_flamin-go_00_wmThe tricky part is always thinking backward on masking. It’s not hard, by any means, but when it’s late at night, well, things aren’t always so streamlined in the brain, are they? LOL 🙂 Fortunately, I did have the forethought of stamping out a few of these at the same time. So, now I just need to color them!

Exciting that the current Lawnscaping Challenge is Sparkle It Up!! Perfecto for my sparkly graduate! Check out all the fun HERE!

Sidenote: As I was sparkling up my Flamingo’s hat and whatnot, my Wink of Stella pen had a surge of fluid roll out. It was close to ruining my card in the final touch. Ack! *sweats! I’m wondering if this common?

Lastly, thought I’d just share a picture of all the fun Lawn Fawn little ditties I recently finished and cut out, READY for cards! Whoot! 🙂 Cuties!

hawkins_jill_lawnfawnThanks for stopping by–have a great week! 🙂

MFT Sketch #276

Challenge in the Challenge: 30 minutes or less, start to finish.

Behold, the 25 minute card! 🙂 Phew!

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #276! (My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog.)photoThis is one of the fastest cards I have ever completed. LOL. If I wasn’t in such a hurry, I would have stamped the sentiments one at a time to get them snug together, but alas.

hawkins_jill_wishing you_wmThe one card I never have ready to go is a flat-out Birthday card! And being a card maker, why would I have those done and ready on time? 😉

I used a dark gray ink to stamp the sentiment. I didn’t want it to be solid and dark. It worked out well. The part that took the longest was drying the ink and then the watercolor. Impatience. Geesh.

hawkins_jill_wishing you_00_wmDo I love this card? Well, it’s better than I thought it would be, for sure! However, I have spent hours on a card and not liked it in the end, so in that case, I LOVE this card!! 🙂

My card is made with supplies at My Favorite Things. Die-namics: Blueprints 13, Stitched Basic Lines. Stamps: London Mouse and Label Maker Sentiments.

MFT Color Challenge #35

Today, Color Challenge #35 is on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog! I hope you can hop on over to see what the rest of the Design Team made. Each person really brings their own unique style to their projects. I eagerly wait to read the posts myself! 🙂MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_35Here is my card for this Color Challenge:

hawkins_jill_remember that_wmThe Amazing stamp set is a staple sentiment set. It’s font is simple (my fave!), and therefore can fit gracefully into any card type. And the Stitched Stars STAX is another staple. Products like these, are crafty money well spent in my book because of their versatility. Dig that. 🙂 hawkins_jill_remember that_00_wmI have another Color Challenge card waiting to be photographed. So I’ll post that one very soon too. I just can’t get a decent photo without the daylight. And well, it’s 10pm. Haaaa!! See you back for that card soon!
