Otterly Great

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #315 and MFT Color Challenge #61!photoI have surprised myself by getting in another Challenge entry! I had to use these otters though! Because: Cutie otters and puns! 🙂

hawkins_jill_otter-bday_00_wm

I masked and stamped this cutie, colored with Copic markers, and then fussy cut the edge, so he would hang off a little bit. I adhered the colors of the challenge, and did a little fussy/trickery die cutting to pull the whole thing together. 😉hawkins_jill_otter-bday_wm

Just a little something different to try. 🙂

Supplies from My Favorite Things, including the new BB Otterly Love You. So stinkin’ cute!

Have a great week!

Hello, Sunshine | MFT Sketch 294

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #294! My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog! It’s so worth hopping over there to read Susan’s posts! You will not be disappointed. Ever. 🙂photoGeesh, I almost missed this week’s sketch. I thought about it a few times and then bam, it’s Monday night! Phew. Squeaking in with this little number.

hawkins_jill_hello sunshine_wmI stamped and embossed some of the stamping. Then I watercolored in the image and background with my Zig markers, via an acrylic block. Sometimes, that just works better for me, depending on the look I’m going for.

hawkins_jill_hello sunshine_00_wmI mixed up the elements of the sketch a bit, since the chameleon had to be on the right, for tail purposes. 🙂

Supplies from My Favorite Things: Die-namics Blueprints 24 and BB Polynesian Paradise.

Peeps!

This week is MFT Sketch Challenge #272! (My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog.)photoI have a weakness for iconic Peeps! Not so much eating them, but their sweetness! 😉

hawkins_jill_my favorite peep_wmPeep! 🙂

Totally random note, as I was making this, I just grabbed ink pads, not sure how many peeps it would take to complete the circle. And I just noticed they are ROYGBIV! Totally not intentional, and I love that Rainbow just happens. Haaaa! 🙂

Inspired by SRO! :)

Rockin’ along with MFT Sketch Challenge #270! (My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog.)photoThis may be my most literal take on any sketch ever. LOL. 🙂

For this card, I was inspired by the one and only, my friend, Susan R. Opel. Susan literally writes the blog on inspiration, so I find it fitting. ♥ SRO has an eye for fashion (and other fun) inspired card creations. Check out these examples of Susan’s awesome inspirations: HERE, HERE, and HERE. I mean, Yo! That’s fun. 🙂

Way back in October (?), I was flipping through TV channels late one night, and saw Julianna Margulies on Stephen Colbert. Checkout her spectacular Chevron dress!! 🙂 It stuck in my head, and I told Susan I would just have to make something inspired by it. 😉

Merry and Bright

As mentioned previously, I give myself the pass on making our family Christmas cards. As much as I enjoy it, I sort of lose my mind somewhere along the production line. 🙂

Of course, time is even tighter in December, but I kept these very simple and managed them in one sitting. I mailed them out before Christmas, to my teammates! Whoot! 🙂 It’s the little victories!

hawkins_jill_merry&bright_06_wmI was also in a race with the mailman, so I snapped just a few quick photos. 🙂  hawkins_jill_merry&bright_wmWhile these cards are very similar, they are all slightly different. 🙂

hawkins_jill_merry&bright_00_wmFun with non-holiday supplies! Always fun to stretch what you have in different ways. 🙂

Don’t forget, there is a little time left to participate in Sketch Challenge #260 and over a week left for joining Color Challenge #36 on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog!
