Concord & 9th

Today is an exciting day, as I’m joining Concord & 9th as a Guest Designer for July and their Feature Friday series—-I could NOT be more excited!! πŸ™‚ I have always enjoyed seeing this feature and I am delighted to participate this month! Many thanks to Concord & 9th for having me <3….I have been having a grand ol’ time, that’s for sure! Also designing this month are Carrie Rhoades and Karen Reategui! Be sure to check out their projects on the Concord & 9th Blog HERE too! πŸ™‚

On with the cards– That’s why we are all here, right?Β  πŸ™‚

This first card features the new Sew Pretty Dies, Joyful Tiles Turnabout Stencil Pack, and Tropical Vibes Dies. If you haven’t hand stitched a card, I highly recommend giving a go. It creates a lovely added element to each card–and these dies make it quick work. I stitch while watching TV–because I can rarely just sit. πŸ™‚

This “hello” sentiment is perfect for many occasions–I stitched it in dark (navy) blue.Β  I thought it would be fun to stencil the base first, before stitching. Have you used a Turnabout Stencil? It functions just like a Turnabout Stamp. I use my Misti for corner to hold the stencil in place and get the tight fit. πŸ™‚

I thought the flowers, scoring and stitching added the perfect finishing touch! πŸ™‚

Next up, I used the Sew Pretty Bundle and the new Tropical Vibes Turnabout stamp for the sentiment.

I thought it would be fun to stitch up the diamond a little different, and it turned out pretty cool! The trick for this specific look, is to have two colors going at the same time, so you can stitch them alternating, as you go. You can do one color at a time, it just creates a more layered look vs. integrated. Both are fun! πŸ™‚

Next up, I have a sweet stamped little number… This card features the Sew Pretty Stamp set.

I stamped the Hello with a dark blue and then magically found the matching Copic to fill in the outlined Hello. (Insider tidbit: This was completely a strike of luck to find the right color straightaway. Haaa! This will likely never occur again.) I simply adore the “from all of us” sentiment. Just delightful!

For the background, I masked off some stripes with Post it tape and blended on some ink. I stitched the panel on to complete the card.

…So I might have made a few cards because I could not stop! πŸ™‚

This next card features the Sew Pretty Bundle. There are so many possibilities with the stamp and die combos, especially because you can leave the diamond open or complete it, adding a little extra die piece to pierce the holes. This is likely my most straight forward card, if you will.Β  A lovely little number to give to the Bride & Groom!

It’s also delightful that in the bundle, you receive the floss and needles to stitch with. So when you receive your goodies, you are ready to rock! πŸ™‚ The floss colors are all fabulous and go together swimmingly.

I added the simple stitched line and score lines to finish it all off.

And last but not least, is the first card I made! This card again features the Sew Pretty Bundle.

I stamped the diamonds to overlap each other. I originally had three colors of ink to use, and grabbed the wrong one to lay down the last diamonds. But don’t tell anyone. *winkΒ  So if I made this one again, I’m not sure if I’d use two inks or three, as was originally intended…?

This green floss might be my favorite in the bundle. πŸ™‚ Its lovely. Perfect to say hello!
Well, I find my bucket of photos is now empty! πŸ™‚ As you can see, I really enjoyed exploring lots of possibilities with these new stamps and dies. And I still want to try a few other things. I’m hoping to get those done sometime in the next weeks–there should be some new seasons to binge watch soon!?Β  πŸ˜‰

You can find the whole lot of new Concord & 9th products HERE. And if you’re a bundle person, get it all HERE.

I hope you have been inspired to try your hand at making something fun and possibly explore trying something a little “different” with them too! Please be sure to check out the post on Concord & 9th’s Blog today to see ALLLLLLL the fun!

Happy stitching–thanks so much for stopping by!

If you’re on Instagram, follow me HERE. πŸ™‚ I’ll see you back here next Friday! Spoiler Alert: Next week’s cards are bright and uber fun! πŸ™‚

Take care– Jill πŸ™‚

Rest and Refresh! NEW Release from SSS!

There is a New Release available over at Simon Says Stamp HERE— It’s called Rest and Refresh! I has the pleasure to use the sweet new Filigree Wreath.

I decided to make a “few” cards using this fun new wreath…figuring if I was going to die cut all these pieces, I might as well! I love to die cut inlay and I decided I need to watch some TV and zone out, so the combo worked out well. It’s like putting together a puzzle. The key is not lose any of the little bits–that is actually a bit tricky. πŸ™‚

All the little bits add such detail, I kept the rest of these cards pretty simple from there.

Here it is in all green!

I kinda really dig the one color! πŸ™‚

Here’s another very clean one. I’m not a big on adornments for Sympathy cards.

I was going to do all white, but decided to add this colored panel behind.

And lastly another colorful one:

I decided I’d make the dots black on this one, and I don’t think I used the correct pen unfortunately. I’m probably the only one who notices that though. πŸ˜‰

I thought the lot of these turned out lovely and they are great for mailing because they are flat. This new Filigree Wreath die has so much detail and sweetness, I felt I could keep the rest very clean. β™₯️

I used sentiments from the new Paper Smooches set Sunnyville and the previously released Sympathy Sampler. The “Be You” sentiment is from Concord & 9th’s Rainbow Wishes.

Thanks to Simon Says Stamp for having me along to celebrate this fun NEW release!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Friday!

Take care–Jill

Rainbow Wishes

Hope your week is going well! Mine has been jam-packed, but last night, I just had to stamp some color! πŸ™‚ So I made these:

Be You. Be Happy. ❀

I figured, if you are stamping rainbows, STAMP some RAINBOWS in bulk . πŸ˜‰ I stitched each one a little different to mix things up. Loving this stamp set and especially ❀ the sentiments and the font they are in. Gah! πŸ™‚

For all these cards, I used Concord & 9th’s Rainbow Wishes . Ahhhh rainbows. ❀

I added a few scoring lines to the top of this. These were an experiment, and I decided I do not like this broken up look in scoring. But now I know, and I certainly was not going to bin these just because of that little detail. Not tragic. πŸ˜‰

I also stamped envelopes with Concord & 9th’s little stamp set. πŸ™‚

Well, that is all for now! πŸ™‚

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope wherever you live, you are experiencing a nicer Spring season. Haaaa! We are not having typical weather, but rather a continuing winter. Ugh.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Take care– Jill πŸ™‚

More Thanks

The weekend is here! Yay! This past week was jam-packed and I’m ready for a day off!

Today, I’m sharing a bunch of Thank You cards I have made. The rainbow ones I made back in January and never shared. The blue ones I made recently for our PTO at school to give. I tried to use the school colors and keep them manly, because they are all for men!Β  πŸ˜‰

For all these first Thank You cards, I used Concord & 9th’s Many Thanks die and for some I used their Many Thanks Turnabout Stamp. Love that stamp! It makes you want all the turnabouts, right? I quite enjoy the way the peeps at Concord & 9th think–quite inventive!

I scored all these card panels & stitched on the speech bubbles, but neither shows up fantastically in these photos. Hooray for Rainbows 🌈! πŸ™‚

I usedΒ Copic Markers to color these for bulk purposes. Generally speaking, I like to use colored cardstock to cut the letters instead. I’m a purest, I guess. πŸ˜‚! However, sometimes you just need to get some cards made! So I took the quick route on these above.

This next set below, are the “manly” ones for school.

These used both white and a dark blue colored cardstock. As you can see, it worked out one-for-one! So I had nothing leftover. Whoohooo!

Sometimes I used the outline of the speech bubble, sometimes not. Also a fun thing to be about to add or take away. πŸ™‚

This ombre paper above is by Lil’ Inker and I am LOVING it big time! It was gifted to us at our recent retreat. Now I fear I will not use it because I ❀ it so! Ha! It is THIS Ombre Stripes Lil’ Inker pad. Thank you so much, Lil’ Inker! ❀

This patterned paper below was just found in my stash. πŸ™‚ It worked out pretty well too. But it’s no ombre stripe! πŸ˜‰

This two below I used the turnabout stamp to create the background. I used the same gray colored ink pads on both, but to me they look slightly different. Weird. :).

Of course, all my cards were polished off with a little stitching in end.

I’m so glad these all came together. I will definitely be using all these Concord & 9th products regularly around here. I am a sucker for simple fonts and speech bubbles though, so that’s a given! Ha! If I could just work and design faster, they’d be quick work! But I’m not a bulk producer, so I’m ok with the slower pace. πŸ™‚

You can see a “Fall” themed Thank you card I made with these products HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy your weekend! πŸ™‚

Thank You Notes

Happy Almost Christmas! Just popping in to share a couple *Thank You* notes. One I made back in the fall and forgot to share, and this holiday one I made last night. Because: Crafty therapy! πŸ™‚

Eeeeep is this the cutest little sleigh full or what? πŸ™‚ I used Avery Elle’s Sledding Critters and the coordinating die HERE. For the background I blended on Cracked Pistachio Oxide ink. ❀

I usedΒ Copic Markers to color these cuties and added Glossy Accents, Wink of Stella, and some Nuvo drops. So fun! I ❀ THIS stamp from Avery Elle, so naturally this is the winter counterpart πŸ˜‰ . (Check out a card I made with the Birthday Bus stamp/die HERE!)

Next up, I made the Thank You card below using THIS unique stamp from Concord & 9th. They always have some clever goods over there! πŸ™‚ Many Thanks Turnabout Stamp! Hooray!

<<
you can tell by the pumpkin in the pic, I made this back in the Fall, so it has more of an autumn feel.

<<
lso used Concord &Β  9th’s Many Thanks dies to create the focal point speech bubble. I have always been a HUGE fan of speech bubbles, and this one is large and FUN! πŸ™‚

Ok, that is all from me today! I had a busy day of laundry, baking and family fun! More to do on all that tomorrow too!! πŸ™‚

Have a Happy Christmas All!Β  Jill πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_just because_00_wm I used the die from Bags & Tags that is ideal for a bag edge. But you know, I was thinking RAINBOW! I am clearly in a rainbow phase! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_just because_wmThis stamp set from Concord & 9th is, Lots of Blots. And the die set is Bags & Tags Dies. πŸ˜‰

Enjoy! Concord & 9th!

Over the crazy holiday months, I had the good fortune to win some awesome Concord & 9th goodies via Instagram. I was VERY excited! I mean, who wouldn’t be?! πŸ˜‰

I’ve been tinkering with some of my new goodies here and there, and I’m looking forward to making more. Their products are fresh, innovative, and spark so many possibilities. If you haven’t gushed yet, I encourage you to check them out HERE. Fantabulous! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_enjoy_00_wmI stamped the ‘Enjoy’ in navy ink, to mix it up a bit. I like how it plays off the Distress colors I used. I can never decide when I should stop messing with the watercolors. Then, I accidentally splattered the panel, so hence, the whole thing was splattered in the end! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_enjoy_wmThis set from Concord & 9th is called: Lots of Blots. πŸ˜‰

The Wonky Stitched Rectangles are from My Favorite Things.

And if you Instagram it up: jilldhawkins

Thanks for poppin’ by! Keep rockin’ your week, friends!
