Rockin’ along with MFT Sketch Challenge #270! (My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog.)This may be my most literal take on any sketch ever. LOL. 🙂
For this card, I was inspired by the one and only, my friend, Susan R. Opel. Susan literally writes the blog on inspiration, so I find it fitting. ♥ SRO has an eye for fashion (and other fun) inspired card creations. Check out these examples of Susan’s awesome inspirations: HERE, HERE, and HERE. I mean, Yo! That’s fun. 🙂
Way back in October (?), I was flipping through TV channels late one night, and saw Julianna Margulies on Stephen Colbert. Checkout her spectacular Chevron dress!! 🙂 It stuck in my head, and I told Susan I would just have to make something inspired by it. 😉

MFT Sketch Challenge #259 starts on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog today! Take a break from the holiday craze and join us! Only a couple left after this one for 2015!
This week’s sketch:Here is my take this week:
Poof! I find this a refreshing take on the Christmas cards. Do you? When I finished this card, I thought, Dang, I think Erin has rubbed off on me! Something about its overall feel reminds me of Erin’s fabulously bold style. 🙂
I originally had the three leafy greens exactly like the sketch has them. It looked awkward, so I took those three sketch elements and bundled them. I love to see when people follow Sketches tightly. (Check out Miriam‘s because she’s really good like that). I sometimes (ok, often) end up tweeking a few things on my cards. 😉
I didn’t get to making another Sketch card, but I did make this fun guy:
I tried soooooooooo long to resist ordering this set, because I felt pretty good about my collection of Christmas stamps. But, I’m weak. This one particular Santa made me order it. Plus, I did not have any Santa stamps. So obviously, it’s justifiable. 😉 😉I clear embossed his outline and then used watercolors to give him color! Too fun! 🙂

This week’s sketch:
Here is my take this week:
I thought this was a fun and WAY different color combo for me. I flipped the sketch, swapped the rectangle for a circle, and put it all together! 🙂I didn’t get around to making a second Sketch card this week. I’ve been trying to get a little ahead and also making MANY cards for friends and family that have been kind enough to help me on my fundraising efforts. I’m so grateful. 🙂
I originally made a card almost identical to these for Sketch #245. 🙂 I’ve made and completed just these cards, so far. They look awesome together! This is typically not my thing, to make many of the same card. But for the right cause(s), I did it! I think the best part is designing the cards and picking the products, so I rarely make doubles+ etc. 😉

You can participate in these challenges as well. There are most certainly not limited to papercrafters, just your imagination. 🙂
This was the image she selected to inspire…and boy does it ever! Colors, pencils, rainbow…ahhhh! 🙂 I just had to make something.
I don’t do many pastel-ish colors, but I just am enamored with how this turned out…so maybe I should!? Hooray for Sherbet colors! 🙂 Enjoyable.

Here is my card for the week:
I’m unsure as to who made this!? Between the color combo and flowers (yes, again!), I need to check my temperature. Haaaaa! I try to stretch out of my comfort zone now and again, and let me tell you, this one is a huge stretch for me. 😉 Should hold me over for awhile.
I had to splatter the inside of the card to balance myself out a bit. LOL.
Oh, and be sure to stretch your dies! I did so a few times on this one with both the Blueprints 23 and the Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX. You can get a bigger bang from your supplies. 🙂
Be sure to check out the Sweet Sunday Sketch Blog for all the different takes! 🙂

Today is Inspirational Day two on the MFT Blog…Go check it out!
I enjoy this quote by Dr. Suess. It is so simple, but if you stop and think, it makes you wonder. 🙂 It is so fitting for kids and for myself. Plus, I think it’s a great motto to be sure and do both. I find myself doing this every time I sit down to make a project. Thinking about what I want to make and then wonder how I can use this or that. It’s both deep and simply practical right? 🙂 Plus I freaking love this graphic Laina made. Ahhhh…. 🙂
Here’s a card I was inspired to make:
I thought this would be a super cute card for a kiddo! That lil’ squeal! 🙂
Cross stitched dies: Thud.
Hope you’ll hop over and read more this week on the MFT Blog! It’s sure to get your mind turning! 🙂 Oh, and I believe I heard the word prizes!!

Some super fun stuff to see!! 😉

I had literally had 30 minutes to put something together. Fortunately, I had a semi-plan already in my head. I find this makes me work faster. Though
sometimes often that doesn’t quite come out like you picture in your head! Lol. Anyway, I thought this was fun to use the remainder of my cover-up. I have about 1/8″ strip left. I used it ALL 😉
This project was made with the following supplies by My Favorite Things: Polka Dot Cover-up, Die-Namics Stitched Circle STAX, Blueprints #23 (dies), Totally Happy, BG Diagonal stripes (stamps), (card stock) 😉
