Create in Quads from Taylored Expressions!

Taylored Expressions has a New Release today! It is the Create in Quads: Snowflake Stencils! I am sooooooooo excited about these! The stenciling is super fast and then boom, four cards! These are even easier using the Create-in-Quads Paper Packs. (Not essential for creating, but just helps streamline your Quad stenciling. 😉)

For these cards on toffee, I used Poblano Pepper, Sugar Cube, Mushroom, Earl Grey and Fruit Punch inks.

The sentiments are from the new Winter Blessings sentiment set and there are coordinating dies too.

I also had to use a little Gus & Gertie: Holiday Adventures. They are OH too cute!

I die cut the Open Scallop Circle out of TE Vellum to create a subtle backdrop for the sentiments.

They all turned out so wintery and delightful. This is a GREAT way to make a card set for gifting!

I finished them all off with some stitching and some  Clear Drip Drops.

Next up, I used the Sugar Cube Create-in-Quads Paper Packs to create a set in Sugar Cube. I wanted to see if I could keep this set REALLY simple, so I eliminated the stitching. I don’t think I will do that again because they truly feel incomplete to me–ha! Creature of habit.

Initially,  I set out to make a set of Rainbow Snowflake cards but I got sidetracked mid stenciling and forgot my plan! Ha! Anyone else ever do this? 😋 So anywho, I ended up with this funky pastel set…

But I do enjoy how they turned out, so it’s all good! 🙂

I used the Frame in Frame 2 die set, along with the Petite Scallop Rectangular Stacklets. I created a simple way to add a little something without going crazy. 🙂

This set of cards is made with the Get Cozy set. I love the font in this set along with the simple block layout. Right up my alley. 😉

I decided use Strawberry Milkshake for the card bases. I added some embossed lines on some for a little extra.

I added a little simple silver thread to this card. I broke my SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE rule just this once for this card. 🙂

If you missed the first set of Create in Quads Stencils created, those are called Create-in-Quads – Mistletoe Layering Stencil. This is the newest set, and I’m guessing FAR from the last! Such a cool and brilliant idea.

By the way, there is a NEW gift with purchase over at TE this month month–it is called Anytime Expressions and it is a great set of sentiments for any time of year:

This is also using the Best Buds Layering Stencil Set and the Like Gnome Other stamps and dies.

Stamp Joy Exclusives now available!

Taylored Expressions has a New Release today!  It has the products from the Spring Virtual Stamp Joy event! And they are good ones, for sure!

There is a bunch of new rainbow goodness in this release that I cannot wait to use myself! But let’s get started with what I did use today, shall we?!

First up, I have the Kaleidoscope Cutting Plate which was super fun to make. I was inspired by… can you guess? Good n Plenty candy! 🙂

I also used two sentiments from the A Few Phrases set, which is a small little set that packs a punch with a bunch of well used sentiments.

This took a wee bit to piece all the Good n Plenties in 😉 , but I think in the end it was SO worth it! I love to do this while watching TV because you don’t have think–you just need to match up the puzzle pieces and be sure to NOT lose them! I finished this off with some stitching and some Cosmic Bits. 🙂

Also, in case you missed it–there is a NEW gift with purchase over at TE this October month–it is called Winter Village. You can check out all the cards I made with this stamp on my post from Tuesday: HERE.

Hanukkah Release from Taylored Expressions!

Taylored Expressions has a New Release today !!  It has a handful of goodies to celebrate Hanukkah! What a wonderful release to add to your collection to celebrate Hanukkah.

Today, I used the new Get the Word Out- Happy and Get the Word Out – Happy Shadow along with a few previously released products. Funny enough, even though this is a Hanukkah release, as discussed above, I ended up making more of a Holiday Season card.

To create the background I used one of my SUPER faves, the Modern Holly Layering Stencils with greens and Guava. I then die cut the Diagonal Stitched Rectangle Stacklets with that. To finish it off, I die cut the ombre Happy along with the On the Repeat-Holiday and popped those in the Frame in Frame 2 die.

I just love the way the greens come out on this stencil and I just have so much fun layering these stencils. I finished this with some stitching and some Clear Drip Drops… which reminds me that I need to purchase some more of those, since I am running low! ahhhh!

Also, one more thing while I have you–there is a NEW gift with purchase over at TE this October month–it is called Winter Village and it is a good one! I haven’t seen a free gift that I haven’t like yet! Anyway, I wanted to share a few cards I had made with it here:

I thought this one worked wonderfully to just sent a Season’s Greetings type card. The new Arch Stacklets frame a scene perfectly!

This next card is sort of any time kind of card–Welcome to the Neighborhood! I kept this one pretty simple too. (This sentiment is from the OH MY WORD – HELLO set.

The tag is from the Pierced Tag Stacklets–a long time FAVE! 🙂

Lastly, more of a Christmas card, if you will, but using alternate color scheme that I think I would normally reach for with Christmas cards?

Oh how I loved how soft and sweet this one turned out!

Here’s the scoop from TE:

Right now through Sunday, October 10th you can get all of the new Hanukkah products in one click! The ‘I Want it All Bundle’ retails for $82.50 and includes:

TE Exclusives–Now available…

The exclusives that Taylored Expressions offered with purchase of $100 or more are all NOW available for purchase! I always love this release because there are such fun things that I have been wanting and didn’t snag in time. 🙂

These are the following items released:

  • January: Hi Hey Hello Background
  • February: Bursting Blooms Stamp Set
  • March: Itty Bitty Sentiments
  • April: Mixed Blooms Layering Stencil
  • May: Gathered Stars Die
  • June: Summer Vibes Background

And the background in this list above are amongst my faves from the freebies offered at Taylored Expressions these last months!

On with my cards, shall we! For these the main fun is die cut using the Off the Hook die! Gah this is so much fun.

For all my cards, I used Lollipop, Cookie Monster and Lemon Meringue cardstock–I had to laugh because when I shared these, I couldn’t help thinking 80’s! The 80’s called and I answered!

I stamped the Hey Hey Hello background on Sugar Cube cardstock with Earl Grey ink and pieced that on all three cards, about half way. I then added stitching to each with my machine.

The sentiments on all of these come from the Simple Strips: Snarky. Of course. Because that is one of my favorites for a laugh! 🙂

This Off the Hook die cut is super easy to use and I’m all about that. Complicated die cuts are awesome but I know myself and if it is too much, I tend to not use them as much. But this one came together 1-2-3!

I used the Diagonal Stitched Rectangles on all of these to pull the other thing together, also while framing the main event.

I have to share this quick little story, speaking of phones:

I had a little girl come into my work office the other day and ask what the phone was. I had to laugh because of course she may have never seen a phone before. I’m sure her parents have cell phones and that’s that. The things you never think about. 🙂

I’m Done with People. These sentiments cracks me up and I have friends that I know fully appreciate the snarky humor as well. ❤

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions.

Here’s the scoop from TE:

Now, through Sunday, August 29th, save 30% on our select summer favorites! If you have had your eye on some of these stamp sets, die, and stencils, now is the time to add them to your collection and save at the same time!

Taylored Expressions: Mom Release!

We are celebrating all the Moms over at  Taylored Expressions today. It’s a lovely release that can be used for many occasions AND people, even other than Mom. ❤

First up today, I am using the new Dear Mom and new Gathered Greenery.  The boldness of this font and the size of this sentiment lends itself to a lot of different techniques! For this card, I kept it pretty simple stamping the background, color blending, and then embossing the sentiment over it.

I did use sort of an ombre inking technique on the Gathered Greenery background while stamping it. I used all the colors on the stamp, as I learned that would give me the look I wanted vs. stamping it all in one color. It just takes a little more patience and you want to be sure to put your yellow ink on first etc.

I thought this turned out quite happy! And the funny part is inside…

bwwwwwaaahahahahaa!!

Next up, we have Pretty Posies. I actually used this flower upside down and made it into a cone flower vs. a posie! ha! How’s that for stretching your supplies?

For the background, I used the Mini Slim Cable Knit stencil, blending on Lemon Meringue, Pineapple, Grannie Smith and a touch of Cilantro!

Lastly, I wanted to try the kissing technique with the bold font of the Dear Mom, in combination with the new Gathered Greenery. It worked out so well!

First I stamped the Dear Mom in all the different colored inks in a solid. Then, once again, I inked the Gathered Greenery with multiple inks to create a rainbow sherbet background.

The last color I used was Honey and I didn’t blend it super well, but I went with it all anyway. 🙂

The Perfect Parent sentiments are too funny for the inside (or outside) of the cards!

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions.

Masking Stencil Essentials Release from TE

This is another great release over  at Taylored Expressions today! 🙂 It’s one of those releases which is awesome because it contains a lot of the essentail things we need for cardmaking all the things! These are all available at  Taylored Expressions today!

First up, we have the Scalloped Circles Masking Stencils! I love all the scallops, in case you haven’t noticed. 😉

I actually used double stencils on this. First I used the new Scalloped Circle Masking Stencil and then after I laid down a basic level of ink, I overlapped the Hot Spots stencil. I kept the Hot Spots in place using a piece of tape, like a book flap just to make it easier and create a cohesive background that I didn’t need to shift twice, like I did with the Scalloped Circle. I’m sure that makes zero sense, but if you were to try this, you’ll probably figure it out. 🙂

This little Gus is from the Gus and Gertie set (+ coordinating Gus & Gertie dies)  and the sentiments are from the Building Blocks: Be Bright set. I love how this fun card turned out! 🙂 Gus is one of my faves.

Next up, this optical illusion card. If it wasn’t a sentiment strip, this would be a one layer card! And I keep thinking it isn’t. ha!  But it is!  For this, I used the new Rectangle Scalloped Frame Masking Stencil and it made this awesome dimensional look with just the stencil.

I used two of the Petite Scallop Rectangle stencils together, blending in some Toffee ink. After that, leaving the “frame” I created with the two stencils, I stamped the Wood Plank Background stamp with Chocolate Truffle and Mocha over top. After that was all set, I left the stencil on and blended in the background with the different colors before stamping the Spring Stems. I wish I had added a little darker ink around the top and sides to create that same dimensional look that is created at the bottom, but live and learn. 🙂

I have to remember this technique, especially for cards that need to be mailed. It creates dimension without adding bulk. The Simple Strip sentiment is from the Simple Strips-Sympathy set.

Next up, there is a new die set which adds a great detail to your cards. These are the Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets and come in different shapes. For all these cards below, I used the Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets. But there are also Diagonal Stitch Square Stacklets in this release!

For this card, I also used an all time fave, the Over the Rainbow die in conjunction with the Rainbow Cloud Duo dies. I love the simple and subtle detail these  Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets add so easily.

I also needed a handful of Thank You cards this month, so I created all of these with the previously released Modern  Mosaic Stencil (using Pineapple, Lemon and Earl Gray on one and Mint Julep, Pea Pod and Cilantro on the other.)

These came together pretty quick overall and I have already used most of them. 🙂

Of course, the Simple Strips-Thank You set is the perfect fit along with the Big Thanks set.

I thought I had a favorite combo, but in the end, I like both of these scenarios equally. 🙂

I only wish I had doubled my batch. 🙂 Thank You cards are the cards I send most and I love having them ready to go so I can be more timely. I don’t always succeed, but I try! 🙂

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions.
