Freshly Made Sketches Guest! :)

Happy Wednesday! Today, I have the fun opportunity to be the Guest Designer for the Freshly Made Sketches crew! Thank you to my crafty friend Jennifer Timko,  for inviting me to join in this month! You can check out their inspiring challenge blog HERE!

And here is this week’s sketch:

And here is my take! 🙂 I thought this Avery Elle  Critter Crew stamp was perfect for celebrating a new home! 🙂 My friend and her family just moved into a new house yesterday, and there are five of them–too fitting! 🙂

I colored these AE cuties with C opic Markers and added them to an MFT Balloon diecut from the Balloons STAX.

This sentiment is from Avery Elle’s Home Sweet Home, which I believe is retired? The patterned paper is Lawn Fawn’s Gotta Have Gingham Paper Pad ( ❤ ). I am so excited about welcoming them all home. ❤

Thanks so much for stopping by! And thanks so much to the Freshly Made Sketches team for having me along this month! 🙂

Take care– Jill 🙂

hawkins_jill_dream big_00_wmI feel like I have too many neutrals on this card, but I’m going to run with it anyway. Mind the tidbit of orange too. 😉

MFT Color Challenge #22!

MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_22Today starts Color Challenge #22 on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog. Head on over there and see what our wickedly talented team busted out this week!

MFTC&I Blog–sure to be FABulous!

Here’s my card for the week:

hawkins_jill_hello_cc_00_wmI double die cut the Jumbo Dot Cover Up after inlaying the first set of circles. When you do this, you can’t exactly tell where you are cutting because the die is solid, but it worked out. 🙂hawkins_jill_hello_cc_wmPolka dots… love ’em! 🙂

I made a second card with some left over dots. It’s been a week of “hmmm, that’s not quite what I was thinking it would look like…”. Too funny. It’s still fun to send a shaker, right?

hawkins_jill_happy cc_00_wmI popped up the black front panel in hopes that Sour Apple would show through the window a bit, but…not so much. Ha!! 😉hawkins_jill_happy cc_wmIt’s already growing on me more though. 🙂

Oh oh–Aaaaaannnnd, this month, we’ve had the fabulously talented Lorena Cantó join us! How rockin’ is that!? 🙂

Here’s this week’s sketch:

MFT_WSC_230 Poof! Here’s my take:hawkins_jill_yr pretty darn awesome_00_wmThis is a project that looked one way in my head, and came out another. Meh, that’s ok 🙂hawkins_jill_yr pretty darn awesome_wmI made a second card based on this MFT Sketch #230. This is an even looser take, but the sketch still comes through. 😉

hawkins_jill_celebrate_wmFor this card, I challenged myself to get it made and be in bed before midnight. I succeeded :). (‘Fastest Turtle’ for a reason: I’m slow. But let’s call me, ummm…”deliberate”, OK? 😉 ) It helps that I save 98% of my scraps. I used some from THIS card. Hooray for being frugal! Ha! 🙂hawkins_jill_celebrate_00_wmI thank one of my (many) enablers, Erin, for the sweet hook up on this Balloon STAX set. She’s a stinker like that. 🙂
