I’m using these cute little stamps from the Sweet Stamp Shop again. I love this little set!

hawkins_jill_spandex_00_wm

I thought this would be fun for Father’s Day… to give to my husband. πŸ™‚ I used my Kuretake watercolors for a quick coloring, and then did all the die cutting.hawkins_jill_spandex_wm

So enjoy the little funny and punny stamps from Sweet Stamp Shop! πŸ™‚ You can check out my card I made previously with this set HERE.

The dies I used are all from My Favorite Things. πŸ™‚

My Favorite Things: Sketch #253

photoMFT Sketch Challenge #253 is jumpin‘ on the My Favorite Things Challenge & InspirationΒ Blog!

This week’s sketch:

MFT_WSC_253Here is my take this week:

hawkins_jill_smore fun_00_wmEEEEEEEEEE!! S’mores! So tasty and super fun to die cut for cards.hawkins_jill_smore fun_wmI stamped up a second card for this Sketch because I had to use this little doggy. I initially wanted this Top Dog set specifically for this dog. Too cute:

hawkins_jill_it's been_wmI colored this pup with Copics, straight up. No shading, no nothing. I don’t know that I have ever done that before and I’m not quite sure why? LOL. πŸ™‚ It’s weird how this card photo shows variation in the brown, because in person, it’s a solid, even brown. Wacky. My best skill is not card photography, but I have been working on it little by little. πŸ™‚

My Favorite Things: Sketch #252

photoMFT Sketch Challenge #252 begins rockin’ on the My Favorite Things Challenge & InspirationΒ Blog!

This week’s sketch:

MFT_WSC_252Here is my take this week:

hawkins_jill_you are cool_wmYum! I am a big fan of all Laina Lamb’s designs each month. They are always delicious aren’t they!? I may need to make a card with all of them on it! Hmm and mmmm! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_you are cool_00_wmI pieced together different strips of card stock and then die cut it all with the Snow Drifts Cover-up. Another one I can’t stop using! πŸ™‚

I squeezed in a second card this week because: Halloween!!!

hawkins_jill_trick or treat_00_wm I went a little STAR crazy on this one. If I had more time to redo, I’d have omitted the stars from the Trick or Treat die cut. But, alas, had to catch the daylight to photograph. πŸ˜‰hawkins_jill_trick or treat_wmHappy Halloween! Trick or Treat’ers, Enjoy!! πŸ™‚

MFT Sketch #250 AND Holiday Tag!

photoMFT Sketch Challenge #250 begins on the My Favorite Things Challenge & InspirationΒ Blog today!

This week’s sketch:

MFT_WSC_250Here is my take this week:

hawkins_jill_elfie_wmI sort of stretched the center panels wider and shifted the feature element (in this case, the Elf’s selfie) to the side. I then used the letters for the banner element. Just a little creative interpretation right? πŸ™‚

*elfie! I still giggle.

hawkins_jill_elfie_00_wmThis week is also an exciting, fun-filled Handmade Holiday celebration on the MFT Blog!

PrintBe sure to hop over there and catch up! Today, there are Tags-O-Plenty from several members of the Design Teams. I love tags! Here is my contribution:

hawkins_jill_joy tag_reWMOh my word–How much do I love the way the Four Way Chevron die cut with the Snow Drifts Cover Up and then with the Stitched Tag. I pulled it out of my machine after all the cutting, and just sort of gasped! LOL πŸ™‚ Be sure to go join in the fun!

MFT Sketch #244

photoHey hey! MFT Sketch Challenge #244 is on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog today!

This week’s sketch:MFT_WSC_244My card for this week:

hawkins_jill_dew_WMSoda POP! And DEW!? Dewey love? Yes we Dew! πŸ™‚ haaaaa! Laina rocks great designs. I also completely enjoy this stencil and cover up. Ahhh September new releases! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_dew_00_WM

I have a second card to share using this sketch. It is quite a loose take. I used the building as the “tag” and went from there. I usually look at a sketch to start and don’t look at it again. That’s how things get a little wacky, often. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_you're sweet friend_wmI decided I had *medium* control issues after making this. The watercolors want to flow, not be controlled. πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_you're sweet friend_00_wmSuch a fun set nonetheless. And I’ll keep practicing. πŸ™‚

MFT Color Challenge #28

MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_28It’s the 2nd Thursday of the month and off we go! Color Challenge #28 is on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog! Be sure to hop there as the other girls CERTAINLY rocked this! πŸ™‚

My go at it: I am so digging Tropical Teal right now! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_M_wmI know, I used the Four Way Chevron Cover-up again…but I had to! It’s awesome!! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_M_00_wmIn my continuing effort to make quicker cards now-and-again (ha!), I made this one below with remnants and pieces made previously for other cards. That sure makes it quicker!! LOL πŸ˜‰hawkins_jill_good things_wmThen, I accidentally starting stitching in the wrong place. Soooo, that placement was decided. Nuts. I’m not sure I’m loving it overall, but there are some takeaways for sure πŸ˜‰hawkins_jill_good things_00_wm

MFT Sketch #242

photoMFT Sketch Challenge #242 on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration begins today!

Here is this week’s sketch:MFT_WSC_242My card for the week: hawkins_jill_hi_wmI am obviously completely enjoying this new Four Way Chevron Cover-Up from the August release. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_hi_00_wmI die cut the Four Way Chevron many times and pieced it together. Then I die cut that whole thing with the Stripes Cover-up and pieced those in. And then die cut that whole thing with the Rectangle STAX. Dang–so so fun! πŸ™‚

Check out the card I made for the final session of MFT Summer School HERE. Other pieces. Two cards. Dynamite.

SSS Challenge #282

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!! #282! This one is crazy versatile for your imagination! πŸ™‚

Here’s this week’s sketch:

My card for the week: hawkins_jill_ms c_wmGetting ready for Back-to-School…and EARLY no less!! Wahhhoooooo!

The card base was stamped with Grout Gray polka dots, but overnight, I think the card stock absorbed the ink more than I anticipated. ha! πŸ™‚ You can just barely make them out.

hawkins_jill_ms c_00_wmFor this panel’s background, I actually *stamped* the Abstract Stencil with the Field Day die ink on a card stock panel. The panel had been laying around my desk for a while and I finally used it! Double whahoo! πŸ˜›

My card was made with supplies from My Favorite Things: (background stamps rock!)

MFT_SummerSchool3_MFTTVMy Favorite Things: Summer School Session Three rolls on! The final hoorah.
PrintColor Temperatures – Color hues to create a mood. Neutral (black, white, brown, gray), Cool (blues, purples, greens), and Warm (reds, yellows, oranges).

You want to pop over to the MFT Blog and read this lesson, along with the whole week if you missed those. Good stuff. You will be happy.

Here’s my take on the lesson: Neutral.hawkins_jill_sorry crash_wmThese little Bionic Bots are oh so fun. I thought this would make a good card for someone not feeling well or for someone needing a little pick-me-up. πŸ™‚
