April: Technique Tuesday!!

Happy April! It’s no joke that there are lots new stamps and dies from Technique Tuesday today! They can be found HERE!

This new Mother’s Day set, Flowers for Mom, is simple and fun to use! I love this flower! ❀ ! And I have a difficult time using flowers, so this is a big win for me!

I colored these with Prismacolor colored pencils after heat embossing the images.

Love the simplicity. There is also a great die, Flowers for Mom die (check it out HERE) that will be fun to use in conjunction with this set and several others. ❀

I made this next card with the new Memory Keeper’s stamp set, Priceless. It’s got lots of stampy goodness included.

For this card, I masked off the border and used Distress Inks to watercolor, Patiently waiting for it to dry is the hardest part. I want to keep messing with the colors and moving them around. But the trick is to stop and let it DRY! πŸ™‚ I used foam tape to pop up the middle of this sentiment banner, giving it a bowed look. I made this card to give for Mom’s day too. Moms are truly priceless. πŸ™‚

Be sure to check out the new stuff from Technique Tuesday HERE! I am looking forward to making a few more things to share later this month πŸ™‚

Wishing you a BRIGHT April!! Thanks for stopping by! ❀

Family Laughs

Happy (Technique) Tuesday! The new Technique Tuesday release can be found HERE!

I soooooo enjoy THIS new set from Technique Tuesday called Sassy Family. I think sometimes a sentiment is all you need for a card. With two of these cards below, I did just that:

I would never ignore a call. πŸ™‚

For this card, I stamped in orange and heat embossed it clear. Then I added some patterned papers and some stitching to keep it simple.

This sentiment, I find particularly hilarious and OH SO TRUE! πŸ™‚Β  I scored the paper on this card before adding watercolor with Distress Inks. I was hoping the ink would pool up in the creases, but no such luck. It’s always an experiment with watercolor!

And of course, this sentiment above about the bathroom and silence, is my FAVORITE of this set. I just think is so funny and SO TRUE!! πŸ™‚ I think I might have one last sentiment to ink from this set? Otherwise, I’ve used them all. Such fun!

Don’t forget to check out the new stuff from Technique Tuesday HERE! Happy March!

Grrrrr…Steamed Vegetables! :)

Puntastic! This card makes me laugh! Who doesn’t love and avoid “steamed veges”? Haaaaa! πŸ™‚

I used Lawn Fawn’s Rooting for You stamp set. πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_steamed2_wmI also used faces from the Milk and Cookies set and the Donut Worry set. I needed *steamed* faces. Haaaaa! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_steamed2_00_wmI actually thought to make TWO cards at once this time, hence, here is the second. The only difference is the stitching. I couldn’t decide. Not much of a difference, but since I was doing the photos, I took both. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_steamed1_wmI used Harold’s ABCs for the sentiment. I cannot tell you how long these cards took me to make! πŸ™‚ I’m not even sure why they took sooo long. *rolls eyes at self*. Still laughing though–SO worth it. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_steamed1_00_wmAlso, I used the arrow from the Wish You Were Here die set! Perfecto!

(The stitched Rectangle die is from My Favorite Things. Blueprints!! πŸ™‚ )

The current Lawnscaping Challenge is Punny!! I absolutely HAD to get in on that! πŸ™‚ So glad I made it! Punny gets me every time. πŸ™‚Β  Check out all the fun HERE!

Thanks for stopping by! πŸ˜‰

i like you. a lot.

I sat down and messed up a few things. Then, I saw this unfinished project on my desk from the #thedailymarker30day …whooot! I thought, perfecto! πŸ™‚ I’ll wrap this ditty up!

hawkins_jill_i like you_wmThis card looks so vibrant in person, yet I cannot capture it on camera. Why is it so hard? *Rolls eyes*. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_i like you_00_wmI used Distress Inks and blended them on. And then Lawn Fawn’s Quinn’s ABCs to emboss over top. (This set is WELL loved here.) I was pleasantly surprised how this turned out. Because, after all, I used some purple. Haaaa! πŸ™‚

The Stitched Rectangle die is from My Favorite Things. Blueprints!! πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by–and I always thank you for dropping comments. So many kind words left here, and I appreciate them all. πŸ™‚

Floral Goes

Are you sitting down? Because, here comes some flowers. From me. I’m pretty sure I do these Technique Tuesday stamps little justice, but I keep practicing! πŸ™‚ hawkins_jill_the best_wmThis is the Gallica Rose from the Greenhouse Society July release. I added some Wink of Stella pen to this, and while it does not photograph at all, it made this card quite pretty!

hawkins_jill_the best_00_wmIt is such a beautiful stamp. I need to practice more. πŸ™‚

I decided to take a different approach with the August Ritzy Mum stamp.

hawkins_jill_feel better_wmFor this one, I did a watercolor wash background, and let the flower stamp shine in black. There Greenhouse Society stamps are so detailed, that I quite enjoy them in just outline form.hawkins_jill_feel better_00_wmBe sure to hop over sometime and check out all the new Technique Tuesday releases. I cannot wait to get my hands on these NEW Planner Stamps HERE and HERE myself! πŸ™‚

Have a great week!

Here’s the Scoop!

For this cute card, I used my Day 15 from #thedailymarker30day and completed another sweet Lawn Fawn card. I wanted to celebrate National Ice Cream Day, albeit late. We should always celebrate Ice Cream, right? πŸ™‚

I used Lawn Fawn’s Here’s the Scoop set. πŸ˜‰hawkins_jill_scoop_wmI used Zig markers to loosely watercolor, added some Wink of Stella sparkle, and of course, added googley eyes! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_scoop_00_wmI did take a photo with less google eyes…and then, I decided life is more fun with google eyes! Haaaa!! Here’s the comparison: Still cute, those cones!! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_scoop_less_wmThe Wonky Rectangle die is from My Favorite Things. STAX!! πŸ™‚

The current Lawnscaping Challenge is RAINBOW!! Check out all the fun HERE!

Thanks for stopping by–have some ice cream!! πŸ˜‰

Get Well Soon!

For this cute card, I used my tag from Day 8 of #thedailymarker30day and completed this sweet Lawn Fawn card. It has already gone postal! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_get well soon_wmI used Lawn Fawn’s Get Well Soon cutie set. πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_get well soon_00_wmI loosely watercolored everything with Distress Inks. Finished it up with some Wink of Stella sparkle, googley eyes (googley eyese make everything better!), stitching, some patterned paper and Lawn Trimmings (that I re-purposed from a package Lawn Fawn sent awhile back.) πŸ™‚ The tag die is from My Favorite Things.

The current Lawnscaping Challenge is a Mood Board!! Check out all the fun HERE!
