Essentials by Ellen NEW RELEASE!

I am SO excited to share a couple of cards I made for the new Essentials by Ellen Release! I could not be more thrilled to help celebrate the fun! Especially because when I hear a whiff of a new EH release, I wait with crafty excitement!

Ok–on with the cards already! πŸ™‚

For this first card, I used Brandi Kincaid’s new set, Crafty Lady and coordinating dies. Too fun!

How stinkin’ cute is this little tote stamp AND all these fun sayings?! I knew I had to use them all, and I finally figured out how. LOL. Totes people! πŸ˜‰

For these, I stamped them with Versafine Black ink and used Zig Clean Color markers to watercolor an ombrΓ© look in. For stamping the background, I used the Essentials by Ellen Wonky Backdrops set. (I use this set A LOT.) πŸ™‚

Here’s a better look at the whole set:

Soooooooooo fun! I love the handwriting “font”!

I have made a handful of cards thus far, using the new release. I thought I’d share one more today and then be back with more soon!

This is made with the new set, Crafty Ladies Say set. I just love the impact of these stamps!

For this, I made a watercolored panel using Distress Inks. When that dried (patience, grasshopper, patience), I heat embossed this sentiment right on top. For the stars, I again used the Essentials by Ellen Wonky Backdrops set. πŸ™‚

Here is a look at this whole set:

Head over and check out all the new release! I think it might be one of my favorites yet! I’ll be back soon, sharing a little mermaid action. That’s right, Mermaids. ❀

Thank you so much to everyone at Ellen Hutson for having me along to celebrate this new awesomeness! Special thanks to Carly for being so organized and super kind! What a fun experience it has all been!

See you all back here with a couple more cards SOON!

Happy Trails

Happy Tuesday! Today I am sharing a card that I fought to finish! LOL!Β  I kept having mishaps/mistakes, but in the end, I prevailed and finished it! (I won’t tell you how long that took!)

I was all done with the Copic coloring and dropped water on the camper while making the background with Distress Inks. Hence, making the decision where the sentiment would go! Haaaaa! Usually I’m super careful, but….. well, you should see my desk this week. Yikes. *rolls eyes*

I’ll spare you all the other flubs, but man, sometimes projects test you, don’t they?Β  And the debate about using the grill or not using the grill went on for several minutes. In the end, I decided these campers were hungry. πŸ˜‰

For this card, I used the fabulously fun Avery Elle set Glamper Campers! Oh my word, this set! ❀ (That flamingo alone! I want to make a card with just that little fella!) I have been pining for it, and finally used a friend’s set back in April. I stamped and die cut a bunch of images then. Now I am ready to make more. Saves a lot of time later! Except when you keep making a mess! LOL. πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Trails!

Live it up!

Hey hey, Happy Friday!! I thought I’d pop in and share some fun! πŸ™‚

This little bunny is just too sweet! This little guy and the pineapples are part of the new Paper Smooches stamp set, Pineapple Crush stamps and dies. The sentiment is from the new Pineapple Crush 2. Oh my word, I ❀ them both!

I blended distress inks on the background here and then flicked some water on. I colored the cute bunny with Copic markers and added a pom-pom tail. πŸ™‚

I finished off the card with a few sequins and some stitching. The debate I have over using sequins or no sequins is ongoing. πŸ˜›

The pineapples can be stamped in dozens of different ways, as there are lots of little stamp parts that you can use here and there.

That wraps it for now. Another busy weekend ahead here! I think this is just the beginning of a busy season, so I better begin to accept it! Ha! πŸ™‚

Take care- Jill πŸ™‚

Whale, Hello :)

I quite enjoy this happy little whale from Paper Smooches new Huge Hugs stamps and dies! This card was so fun to make and I really enjoy how it turned out. It makes me smile! πŸ™‚
Β
This whale stamps awesome. I did use my MISTI to double up stamping, making it a deeper black (is that possible?). But it stamps solid straightaway. Always a bonus for us stampers. I used Distress Inks and blended them on this panel. Once in a *whAle*, I get a blend that makes me ooooh and ahhh! ❀
Plus, I ALWAYS enjoy Paper Smooches punny sentiments <3. They are THE best!! πŸ™‚

You will find all the new Paper Smooches productsΒ HERE. Next week we hop to share April’s release! It’s filled with smiles!

Thanks for stopping by today–have a great FRIDAY!

Take care- Jill πŸ™‚

More PS September! :)

I thought I’d share a couple more Star Cards I made with Paper Smooches September release! I feel like I have barely cracked the surface of possibilities yet! You can find my previous celebratory Paper Smooches post HERE. I also used the cute new Feathered Friends set HERE.

These cards are made with the new die set, Super Star dies! ❀

hawkins_jill_miss your face_00_WmEeeeep I love the stars with the City Super 2 dies! I watercolored the background with distress inks for this one.

hawkins_jill_miss your face_WmAnd the sentiment is from Fun & Flirty! πŸ™‚

The next one is made with the same Super Star dies and sentiment set, Fun & Flirty! I’m telling you, that is a fantastic sentiment set! πŸ™‚

hawkins_heybeautiful_wmJust a touch of watercolor for an easy background. The hard part is letting it dry! πŸ˜‰

hawkins_heybeautiful_00_wmI thought it was fun to trim up with Star frame into strips and create this card.

Be sure to check out all the awesome new Paper Smooches goodies HERE! Such FUN!! πŸ™‚

Hey Beautiful

Happy Long Weekend, USA! I had some fun coloring and arranging the new Feathered Friends from Paper Smooches! You can check out another release post I did HERE. (I’ll have another coming soon!) πŸ™‚

Fantastically coincidentally, the September Paper Smooches Challenge is Anything Goes! Whoooot! Lots of time, and the sky is the limit on this one, crafty friends! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_hey B_00_wmAren’t these cute little birds so tweet?! What fun to color them! I love having the coordinating dies too. I often don’t, so it was fun to use them here, especially with those little birdie legs! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_hey B_wmFor coloring these cuties, I used my Zig watercolor pens. For the background, I blended on some Distress Inks in Twisted Citron and an Orange (I can’t recall which, LOL.). I purposely made them a bit splotchy to get a wee bit of texture. πŸ˜‰

Paper Smooches sentiment I used is from the Fun and Flirty set. ❀

Eleven!! | MFT Sketch 293

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #293! My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!photoI was sitting down last night to make my niece a birthday card, and then thought I’d try to rock the sketch too. Worked out well. 11 already though? Gulp. Happy Birthday, E! πŸ™‚ ❀

hawkins_jill_11_wmThese number dies just retired. 😦 I’ll still use them bunches though. πŸ™‚ I also laugh that I chose to stamp “You Are”….not sure why, but it makes me laugh. News flash: “You Are 11!”. LOL πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_11_00_wmI often neglect the few stencils I have, but gosh, such cool things you can do with them. I must try to use them more often! Those, and PP. πŸ™‚ Haaaa!

Supplies from My Favorite Things: Die-namics Big Numbers, File Folder Edges, Pierced Square Frame STAX. Stamps: LLD Stars and Wishes. Stencil: Chunky Herringbone.
