Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge

Today I have the awesome opportunity to join in the Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge fun! How excited am I? πŸ™‚

The Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights challenge is a monthly inspirational challenge based on a Pinterest Inspired photo that is located on the CLASSroom blog. A random challenge participant will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson store!!Β  To be eligible, you MUST use Essentials by Ellen products and the photo badge as inspiration. There will be an inlinkz on the challenge post where you can submit, HERE.

Here is the Pinterest inspiration photo: Pretty, right?

And here is my inspired card:

Gah! I had sooo much fun making this card! I rearranged these pieces dozens of times until I finally settled on this little number. πŸ™‚

I first used all the inspirational colors, and that was too much. Then I dialed it down to just a few of the colors: The navy, the off-white and the pinkish hue.

I freaking LOVE the Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Silver Linings by Julie Ebersole. I mean, how cool are these dies? I really enjoy how they are held together just slightly, which is great for holding the piece together and/or makes them really easy to separate. I separated the pieces, and pieced the colors easily after doing that.

I then used the Essentials By Ellen Designer Dies, Hinged Thanks By Julie Ebersole. Another fun die! I went back and forth about putting a different color cardstock underneath to peek through. Yes? No? Yes?Β  In the end, I always settle on the simpler look. πŸ˜‰

Can you tell I am a big fan of Julie Ebersole’s designs? I am! That Julie is a troublemaker for my wallet. πŸ˜‰ Such fun!

I added some stitching and finished everything off with these Pretty Pink Posh Sequins, Sparkling Clear Mix (4mm, 6mm, 8mm &10mm ).

A BIG thanks to Laurel for helping me gather all the details for this great challenge! A HUGE thank you to Ellen Hutson, for having me along this month, and for always being so awesomely supportive of me, and all those in our fun crafty community! ❀ ! It has truly been a pleasure to participate this month! Keep the good stuff coming! πŸ™‚

Thank YOU for stopping by today! I hope you participate in this month’s challenge! πŸ™‚

Love you Deerly

Happy Saturday! Last night I stayed up and made this colorful card to join in the Ellen Hutson April Pin-Sights Challenge! I think I’ve missed the last couple challenges over there, and I was so happy to sit and make a card for this one.

I made a purple deer! πŸ™‚ I can’t wait to get this in the mail today. ❀

For this card, I blended on some Distress Inks, and then stamped over them with white ink. I stamped and die cut all these pieces, added a few spatters and stitching, and voila! I’m still impressed I voluntarily used purple. Sometimes purple needs some love too. πŸ˜‰

For this card, I used Ellen Hutson’s Oh Deer stamps and dies AND one of my new favorites: Wonky Backdrops! I always enjoy Julie Ebersole’s designs. Gah!

Check out the challenge HERE and join in! You can see I was inspired by the soft colors πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by! Have a fantastic weekend!!

Hello Sunshine! Stay Cooool

When I saw Ellen Hutson’s Mix It Up Challenge this month was with Paper Smooches, well, I had to jump in! I was so excited to mix it up with some super faves πŸ™‚ . I’m hoping I can sneak in another soon, since I have many things splayed across my desk already. Haaaa! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_sunshine-smooches

Oh my word!! I cannot handle how cute this little bear is with these giant PS glasses! πŸ™‚ I think he might be struggling a bit, since his treat is upside down. πŸ˜‰hawkins_jill_sunshine-smooches_00

I clear heat embossed this little guy. I colored in the Sunshine with both Copic markers and colored pencils. I could not decide how I wanted it to look! πŸ™‚ I admittedly snickered when I finished this last night. Such fun! πŸ™‚

For this card, I used Ellen Hutson’s All Inside (and dies),Β  Bear Ware (and dies), and Warm Fuzzies. From Paper Smooches, I used the Rainbow Die and Glasses dies. SOOOO fun! πŸ™‚

I’m entering this in the Ellen Hutson March Mix It Up Challenge: Paper Smooches…I’m actually early this time, so be sure you check it out too!! πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by! Have an AWESOME sunshiney weekend!!

Oh, Deer

I was excited to ink up these new little cutie deer from the new Ellen Hutson Oh Deer set last night. I was anxiously awaiting Julie Ebersole’s new sets, and of course, she did not disappoint. πŸ™‚

I say “oh dear” a lot, and I thought it would be punny to make a little *party animal* scene. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill-oh-deer I used a silver ink to stamp the background “confetti”, but when it was all said and done, it doesn’t have the sparkle I was hoping for. That’s ok, it’s still festive looking! Especially because she has lost control of her party hat. Haaaa! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill-oh-deer_00

I also used Ellen Hutson’s Bear Ware and dies for the fun party hats and cupcake! I clear heat embossed and colored on Bristol paper with my Zig markers, before die cutting everything out. I then used some Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink for the aqua background.

Perfect Right Now

I think this little bunny is so stinkin’ cute with his floppiness <3. I’ve been wanting to use him in bulk. πŸ™‚

When I saw the current Ellen Hutson’s January Pin Sight Challenge, I thought now is the time! The photo inspiration directly and indirectly refers to COZY! ❀ Perfect! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_cuddle-bunny_00

I used Ellen Hutson’s All Inside, Bear Ware and Warm Fuzzies! I colored these cuties all with Copic Markers, and die cut them out. I then used some Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink to add a little watercolor to the panel. I heat embossed the sentiment and stitched it right on. To finish, I matted the panel and put it all together. This took a little bit of time overall, but in the end, the cute result was worth it! πŸ™‚

You are Sunshine!

I am popping in today, to share a card I made for Ellen Hutson’s Mix It Up Challenge! I am so glad I snuck this in! I enjoy combining products I like so much!

For this card, I used Ellen Hutson’s All Inside and Avery Elle’s Hello Stamp. I’d venture to guess, this AE set is long retired (?), but it is a fave of mine still! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_sunshine_00_wm

I stamped and used my Zig pens to watercolor in an ombrΓ© sunshiney look! It’s not quite as smooth as I’d have liked, but I decided if I messed with it anymore, I’d have watercolor outside the lines! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_sunshine_wm

I scored the panel, and stitched it on a card base with a paper clip. That was about it! Lots of simple sunshine to mail!

I’m entering this in the Ellen Hutson January Mix It Up Challenge: Avery Elle. It’s about over, but if you run, you can sneak one in too! πŸ˜‰

Thanks for stopping by!

feel better soon

I needed a little love to send in the mail today. I was inspired by all the lovely RED and white in the current Ellen Hutson’s Pin-Sights Challenge, so I ran with that. I love white with some deep, dark red! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_feelbetter I white heat embossed the sentiments on the background repeatedly. It’s such a subtle and delightful detail to add.hawkins_jill_feelbetter_00I then die cut some hearts from Ellen Hutson’s All Inside dies and stamped a sentiment from Warm Fuzzies! The background was stamped & heat embossed with the stamps from All Inside. πŸ™‚

I’m entering this in the current Essentials by Ellen December Pin-Sights Challenge.
