MFT Sketch #244

photoHey hey! MFT Sketch Challenge #244 is on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog today!

This week’s sketch:MFT_WSC_244My card for this week:

hawkins_jill_dew_WMSoda POP! And DEW!? Dewey love? Yes we Dew! πŸ™‚ haaaaa! Laina rocks great designs. I also completely enjoy this stencil and cover up. Ahhh September new releases! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_dew_00_WM

I have a second card to share using this sketch. It is quite a loose take. I used the building as the “tag” and went from there. I usually look at a sketch to start and don’t look at it again. That’s how things get a little wacky, often. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_you're sweet friend_wmI decided I had *medium* control issues after making this. The watercolors want to flow, not be controlled. πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_you're sweet friend_00_wmSuch a fun set nonetheless. And I’ll keep practicing. πŸ™‚

Here’s the sketch for this week:

Here is my card for the week:

hawkins_jill_you're like_0_wmI’m unsure as to who made this!? Between the color combo and flowers (yes, again!), I need to check my temperature. Haaaaa! I try to stretch out of my comfort zone now and again, and let me tell you, this one is a huge stretch for me. πŸ˜‰ Should hold me over for awhile.

hawkins_jill_you're like_wmI had to splatter the inside of the card to balance myself out a bit. LOL.

hawkins_jill_you're like_00_wmOh, and be sure to stretch your dies! I did so a few times on this one with both the Blueprints 23 and the Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX. You can get a bigger bang from your supplies. πŸ™‚

It’s a Sweet Sunday Sketch: #267

Today: Sweet Sunday for the Sketch Challenge!! #267!! Go see what everyone made this week! Here’s my card:

hawkins_jill_You Are My Fav_wmI believe I recently entered a *pink* phase. Ha! For the background on this one, I used Versamark to smoosh on the stencil, letting it shift around some to give that look. It’s definitely one of those things that is more visible in person vs. the photograph. The technique gave sort of a shadowy arrow look. πŸ™‚

Gonna shake…

PrintToday on the My Favorite Things Blog is Day 2 of SHAKER CARDS!! Whoot! Love me a good shaker! Yesterday’s MFT blog post was fun, and I can’t wait to hop around today.
Here’s my take on a “flat” type shaker card. Right up my alley with my trusty sewing machine. I couldn’t get the Donut idea out of my head, so I just went for it. Sort of a simple card, but that little detail adds a fun touch I think. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_donut know shake_00_wmThis is also a great way to show how the MFT dye inks can do second generation stamping to get a whole different gradient! I only used two gray ink pads. Hooray!
