It’s the 2nd Thursday of the month and off we go! Color Challenge #28 is on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog! Be sure to hop there as the other girls CERTAINLY rocked this! 🙂
My go at it: I am so digging Tropical Teal right now! 🙂
I know, I used the Four Way Chevron Cover-up again…but I had to! It’s awesome!! 🙂
In my continuing effort to make quicker cards now-and-again (ha!), I made this one below with remnants and pieces made previously for other cards. That sure makes it quicker!! LOL 😉Then, I accidentally starting stitching in the wrong place. Soooo, that placement was decided. Nuts. I’m not sure I’m loving it overall, but there are some takeaways for sure 😉

Today’s Lesson: Hard vs. soft – For every hard line or edge you place on a card, the design is balanced by some softness, whether it be from a texture (like a ribbon) or a shape (like a circle); too much hard or soft might not work.
Here’s my take on this lesson:
It is definitely a literal take on this lesson, being that I used soft felt and all 😉 But my thinking was the angles added an edge.If you missed my cards from earlier lessons this week, you can click on these links: Monday & Tuesday. Find me on Instagram here: jilldhawkins

Symmetry balanced proportions and Asymmetry The placement of non-identical forms to either side of a balancing point in a way that the two sides seem to be of the same visual weight but aren’t.
You want to pop over to the MFT Blog to be schooled. These lessons are well put together by Susan. 🙂
Here’s my take on the lesson: Asymmetry.
I’m all about symmetry in architecture. But there’s something about card making that makes it fun to rebel. 🙂
Hope you can check out all the fun on the My Favorite Things blog this week. The design teams have surely made plenty of cards to see and link to! A plethora of Inspiration!

MFT Sketch Challenge #240 on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration begins rockin’ today!
Here is this week’s sketch:This is my card for the week: One of my favorite Sketch cards to date. LOVE these dies.
I used a Fuse Green card base and stamped the new Wonky Chevron background on the inside. Adds a little fun for the recipient 🙂 “You Got This” = Awesomesauce.
I really enjoyed this week’s sketch, so I made another card. Then I had ideas for at least three more, but, it was almost midnight. 😉 Some other day…
Those little flags use the new August released Fringe die! Oh goodness, that’s a fun one too! 🙂 The Primitive White base gives a nice warmth to the card.
This one is being mailed to a friend…and it is WAY overdue. 😦
