Taylored Expressions: Dad and More!

There is a new release over at  Taylored Expressions today to celebrate Dads and so much more! 🙂

On both my cards today, I used the new Argyle Stamp and Stencil Combo. Please note, I did not do it the traditional way of Argyle for these cards (as the set is built for) –I went rogue! BUT you should know that it is super quick and super easy to do it the traditional way. (Is that right? Or should I just say, make Argyle. Because Argyle is Argyle. ha!! 😂)

There are new Simple Strips in town too! These new ones are from the Man Myth Legend Simple Strips stamp. I love how this color combo came together and I actually enjoy the hodge podge of Argyle pattern here, but check out the TE Team’s projects because they all did it the “right way”.  😉

I also wanted to use the new Diamond Piercing Plate, so I add that goodness on here too! I used Blueberry, Dijon, and Confetti Cake for the color fills and Mushroom for the pattern.

Next up, I went even MORE rogue! I used practically every color in the Taylored Expressions palette–haaaa! Please see my links below to see what colors I used and try to pick out the ones I didn’t use! I’ll get you started… I did not use Toffee, but don’t tell Heather Nichols. 🙂

I just kept shifting the stencils and then doing a row at a time in each color. I’m still not entirely sure I love this card, but I also don’t hate it, so I guess that is something. 😉

I used the Framed Script-Hello die–I die cut it a few times to give it some oomph too and backed it with some Earl Grey cardstock to make it pop more.

I am looking forward to making Father’s Day cards using the Argyle in the traditional way, or the proper way, if you will. 🙂

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions.

And here’s the scoop:

Right now, through Sunday, May 16th (or while supplies last), You can get the Argyle Bundle for 15% off! The bundle includes the Argyle Stamp & Stencil Combo set and Diamonds Piercing Plate. The discounted bundle price is only available through Sunday, May 16th.

Happy Dad’s Day!

Hola! Today I am just popping in to share a couple of cards I made for Father’s Day. 🙂

First up, I have this one using fun Avery Elle goodies:

I have had the AE set The Man for what feels like forever, but I use it, so I keep it. 🙂 The others are the SEA-Prise and the Grand Photo Die (this one is on SALE HERE.).

I thought this one turned out fun with some blending and some foam tape and boom! 🙂 Mailed!

Next, I have this Plaidarific card I made using Taylored Expressions. I used Caps Lock Dad, Dadisms and the recently released Plaid Layering Stencil.

I do love the Plaid Layering Stencil. 🙂

That’s all from me today. Hope your weekend is a good one! 🙂

Take care 🙂  Jill

Taylored Expressions: Patriotic Release!

Happy non-official Summer! We are sneaking a new release  today for  Taylored Expressions! All the new products will be available over at Taylored Expressions tomorrow, June 2nd. This release is full of fun patriotic pride–but also can be used for everyday events too!

For my first card here today, I used the new Masking Star Stencils and the new Mini Strips- Patriotic! Yessss! New Mini Strips!

I also used the just previously released Plaid Layering Stencil over top the Masking Star Stencil. Double stencil action! This turned out so swimmingly! 🙂

Too keep the Masking Star Stencil train going, check out this alternate way of using it for everyday fun! I thought this was perfect to send a friend that just helped make me laugh along the crazy ride lately. 🙂

I also stamped the Fireworks Background-Stamp to help create a *twinkly* background–just the background stamp alone stamps awesome for backgrounds. I used two sets of Simple Strips for this card’s sentiment–Simple Strips- Friendship and Mini Strips-Life Saver. For this card, I also used the Masking Stencil-Rectangle & TE Blender Brushes to create a little color fade in the background before scoring around it to frame it further.

Alrighty–now…Let’s switch gears to that Fireworks Background-Stamp and Stencil–Just a warning–it’s super fun and very addictive. 🙂 I used this Stencil and Stamp combo to create a fun Birthday card! Who wouldn’t want a festive display of happy for their big day?

This combo in ingenious…. First, you stamp the Starry Background. After that, you take one of the Firework stencils and line it up with the stars. (It doesn’t matter which one you use first.) After that, you take the second stencil and repeat. The beauty is: You can create different color sprays for each firework. Sure did love that and had so much fun thinking of all the different things to make!

For this one, I added a little Nuvo sparkle action to create some more pizazz!

Next up, I’m back to the Patriotic vibe. This one uses the new Starry Background Stamp along with the Starry Stencil! Another great set to create a layered look. You can just stamp the Starry background and be done by coloring it or blending over it entirely or some many other things! OR you can use the Starry Stencil with the stamp, like I did to create a pattern…. or blend all the stars with the same color ink. So many possibilities, just to name a few!

Bonus–there is a die that cuts all the stars out! I didn’t use it here, but it’s pretty awesome for a 1-2-3!

I first stamped the Starry Background with Versamark and then added clear embossing powder over top. After that, I sprayed my stencil with Pixie Spray (Pixie Spray is clutch!) and blended on all the inks with the TE Blender Brushes. I just masked off the surrounding stars a bit to protect them from the other colors. Super easy to do! I finished it all off with some more sentiments from the forthcoming Mini Strips-Patriotic.

And I have one last card for you here today–this one again uses the Masking Stencils Stars and Mini Strips-Patriotic very simply.

I wanted to keep it simple because I thought if I had a design I liked that was fairly simple and flat for mailing, I might make a handful and actually get them out this summer! 🙂

I used the TE Blender Brushes again here and just simply covered up the stars I didn’t want to blend with some post it notes. Blend, blend and done! I also added a little Nuvo sparkle to this one to finish it off.

Taylored Expressions: Father’s Day and Pet Release!

Hello and happy day! We are sneaking a new release  today for  Taylored Expressions! All the new products will be available over at Taylored Expressions tomorrow, May 19th. This release is full of fun stamps for Dad and for your favorite little furry friends!

This first card is I used the new Gus and Gertie set. I cannot get enough of these little cuties! I stamped and colored them all–twice. 🙂

For the background I used the new Plaid Layering Stencil. I switched it up a bit and used in a different way that I thought would be a fun change. 🙂 I almost just kept it with the Blueberry stripes, because that alone was delightful! 🙂

Gah ❤ Gus and Gertie!!

Next up, I am sharing another little cutie pup card…. You’re Dog-Gone Amazing! 🙂 This one uses the new Simple Strips-Woof, Paw Prints and the cute pup from Swinging By!

Isn’t this new puppy cute too? He’s from the new set Swinging By. I colored him with Copic Markers. I went with Cool Greys for him, but I normally uses the Neutral Grays. I used the Heart Stacklets to cut out the heart after stamping it. It works swimmingly.

Next up, I used the new Brushstroke Basics, Building Blocks-Him and Inside Scoop-Him. I stamped the first sentiment on the tag and heat embossed it. Then I decided where I wanted the tag trimmed down to and ran it through the die cut machine again, cutting the tag a big shorter. It’s a quick trick to customize your tag sizes.

I thought these cute little hearts (Bit and Pieces: Have a Heart) were the perfect finishing touch before adding everything down with foam adhesive. For the background on this card, I used the new Plaid Layering Stencil and just sort of mixed it up to create a plaid background. I love this new stencil set! So may possibilities and super easy to use.

Also, apparently I really like using Blueberry ink for this stencil because I did it twice this month! ha! 🙂

Here’s the sweet staying on the inside of this card–the Inside Scoop-Him set. 🙂

Say it All!

Happy Friday! I’m here to share a new Paper Smooches card! Sometimes you want one card to say it all, and that’s exactly what I did here with the new Dude Sampler stamp set:

This font is so fun and bold and I am a super fan of the last two sentiments–especially because it says WE! Yay!! My son and I are going to give this to my hubby on Father’s Day.

I kept the card very simple, adding some scored lines and stitching. No Fuss. 🙂

Paper Smooches goodies: Dude Sampler.

Thanks so much for stopping by–have a wonderful weekend! Always check out the Paper Smooches Blog for all the latest!

Take care–Jill 🙂

No. 1 Fan!

Happy Tuesday! A perfect day to share a project I made using a stamp set from Technique Tuesday! It’s from a previous release, but a fave of mine!  Technique Tuesday’s Fan-tastic! (That Teri Anderson makes some GOOD GOOD stuff!) 😉

I used more of my patterned paper (FTW!) to create this card. After I was done fussy cutting all the layers out, the thought popped in my head to add the blowing “ribbons”.  I thought it turned out fun! This was a Father’s Day card for my hubby ❤ .

Be sure to hop over and check out the new stuff from Technique Tuesday HERE!  🙂

Quick and simple today! Have a great Tuesday!

Take care- Jill 🙂
