MFT Sketch #275

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #275! (My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog.)photoAlmost a literal take…almost πŸ™‚ hawkins_jill_even though_wmI stamped the flowers with watered down Distress Inks. Kind of a fun-little-something-different. Then I watercolored the background by mixing distress colors. I must get my hands on that Twisted Citron Distress Pad. πŸ˜‰

Sweet Sunday: #286

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #286 rolls out today!  πŸ™‚

Here’s this week’s sketch:

Here is my card for the week: I sort of twisted up the elements a week bit, but they are there! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_I don't know_00_wmThis card was one of those accidents. I was watercoloring this Concentric Circle stencil for a different idea and then, I lifted it off and thought: Hmmmmmmm? So I stamped it :). I couldn’t decide if I should add more to it or not? I feel if that debate goes on for several minutes, the answer is: No. Stop. LOL. πŸ™‚ hawkins_jill_I don't know_wm

I wanted the sentiment to bleed out a bit…so I stamped with Grout Gray Hybrid a couple of times, then I stamped it with the Steel Blue dye ink, giving it this slight bleed.

Other than that, I kept it super simple in the end. The die cut panel and matte helps give it a finished look.

My card was made with supplies from My Favorite Things:

MFT Sketch #239

photoMFT Sketch Challenge #239 on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration is starting TODAY!

Here is this week’s sketch:MFT_WSC_239This is my card for the week:

hawkins_jill_hope your day_00_wmI so enjoy this little sunny dude! πŸ™‚ The Abstract stencil and background…well, I’ve mentioned my adoration of these many-a-times too! I stamped and embossed the Build-able Blooms for the sun. It ended up a little more subtle than intended, but, alas πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_hope your day_wmI squeaked in a second card. This one was made in probably five different sit-downs, so it feels a bit disjointed. But, meh, I think it’s kinda fun still πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_don't know_wm…and I think my stitching went a bit awry πŸ™‚

MFT Color Challenge #25!

MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_25It’s the 2nd Thursday of the month and in walks Color Challenge #25 on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog.

Here’s my card for the Challenge:

hawkins_jill_you make_D_wmThis Color Challenge was definitely a challenge, in a couple ways! πŸ™‚ In the end, it came together, with the Kraft holding it all together. Literally πŸ™‚

Never to give up easy, I figured I’d give it another go. In 20 minutes or less. Start to finish, including photos. Ya. Figured that would never happen. I can’t even decide what to use in 20 minutes or less sometimes! LOL πŸ™‚ But I went with these colorful strips, and bam! Voila! Here it is:

hawkins_jill_bestest wishes_wmThe glitter was not dry when I photographed this. Too funny. I quite enjoy that it is a shaped banner card though. Maybe I should adopt this 20 minute rule always? Not likely. πŸ™‚ But I quite like this Birthday Wishes & Balloons set. Fabulous! “Bestest Wishes” just makes me happy πŸ™‚

I twisted the sketch a bit, die cut the background pattern, inked it, and tried to piece it all back in the same way. Tricky πŸ˜‰ .

MFT Sketch #227

photoSketch Challenge #227 on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog is kicking off today! It’s possible there could be many new MFT products used by the dynamite team…just sayin’. πŸ™‚

Here’s my card for the week. I may or may not have a slight obsession with the MFT Blueprints. πŸ˜‰ LOL! This is a lot of the new one: Blueprints #25!hawkins_jill_You're Darn Great_00_wmI don’t have the Fishtail Flags STAX, so I just had to elongate the Die-namics Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX with a little die cutting magic. Works fabulously. Literally stretching your dies! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_You're Darn Great_wmHere’s the sketch πŸ™‚MFT_WSC_227I made a second card based on this Sketch #227:

hawkins_jill_hello blooms_00_wmI don’t typically excel at using flower anything, but I have to say I was sooooo absolutely thrilled when I received these! THESE Build-able Blooms are SO up my alley–builder flowers that are on the potentially whimsical/funky side–I can’t wait to use them more! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_hello blooms_wmMy first card is made with the following supplies at My Favorite Things:

Here’s a peek at my card this week: (hint: I love to die cut the die cut then die cut that die cut… )
hawkins_jill_sketch #213_00_WMHere’s the sketch πŸ™‚MFT_WSC_213Below is the extra card I made. It’s definitely one of those that looks better in person, but it’s still fun to share. I embossed the tag with the Arrows Abound stencil, and embossed the Poloroid cut out, but I didn’t capture it too well on camera. Meh, that’s ok. It’s a good card to give my hubbyΒ  πŸ˜‰hawkins_jill_sketch #213_2_WMHope you’ve found some inspiration to give the MFT Sketch Challenge a whirl this week!
