National Craft Month Hop :)

Happy National Craft Month to all my fellow crafties out there! I am excited to be joining the Blog Hop for Right at Home to celebrate this crafty month of ours, and this SUPER FUN new set of theirs: Make Something Beautiful! πŸ™‚ There is a whole month to celebrate Crafts!

I truly love this sentiment because it is sooooo true! I end most days at my desk to make something. It is definitely my destressification. (Yup, that’s a word. πŸ˜‰ )

I white heat embossed these crafty scissors and then used Distress Inks for the happy watercolors. I cannot avoid a rainbow!  πŸ™‚

This is such a fantastic set to make fun things for other creative friends… or hey, make something for yourself and keep it! πŸ™‚ This card may need to stay with me? πŸ˜‰

Hop along further, with some of my crafty friends ❀️! Here is the full lineup below (and a giveaway chance!):

Destination Chicago

Happy Thursday! Thought I’d pop in quick with the finished card I started for The Daily Marker 30 Day challenge! πŸ™‚

This is a great woodblock stamp of Chicago by Hero Arts. πŸ™‚ It is called Destination Chicago.

I used Distress Inks for these colors. I think I’m trying to combat the winter blues with rainbows lately πŸ˜‰ . I like the way it turned out in the end. And as I’ve said many a times, you just NEVER know with watercolors! πŸ™‚

My Little Nut

I had to make this card for my little nut πŸ™‚ . He is going to think these little squirrels are so cute! ❀

hawkins_jill_lil-nutI watercolored a rainbow for the background. It went a little awry, but that is what happens with watercolor, right? hawkins_jill_lil-nut_

I’m joining in the Little Tangles Challenge: Rainbow! Love a rainbow!! I’d love to make another one.

ntI colored these little cuties for Kathy’s The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge. If you haven’t joined in, I recommend it! Kathy is a star for keeping it going and dropping smiles everywhere. You can find my attempts on Instagram here –> jilldhawkins . If you join in once or twice, it’s all good! I’m wondering if I’ll complete another full 30 days myself?! Here’s hoping! πŸ™‚

This stamp set is Neat & Tangled’s My Favorite Nut.

Have a great week!! πŸ™‚

Hello Sunshine! Stay Cooool

When I saw Ellen Hutson’s Mix It Up Challenge this month was with Paper Smooches, well, I had to jump in! I was so excited to mix it up with some super faves πŸ™‚ . I’m hoping I can sneak in another soon, since I have many things splayed across my desk already. Haaaa! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_sunshine-smooches

Oh my word!! I cannot handle how cute this little bear is with these giant PS glasses! πŸ™‚ I think he might be struggling a bit, since his treat is upside down. πŸ˜‰hawkins_jill_sunshine-smooches_00

I clear heat embossed this little guy. I colored in the Sunshine with both Copic markers and colored pencils. I could not decide how I wanted it to look! πŸ™‚ I admittedly snickered when I finished this last night. Such fun! πŸ™‚

For this card, I used Ellen Hutson’s All Inside (and dies),Β  Bear Ware (and dies), and Warm Fuzzies. From Paper Smooches, I used the Rainbow Die and Glasses dies. SOOOO fun! πŸ™‚

I’m entering this in the Ellen Hutson March Mix It Up Challenge: Paper Smooches…I’m actually early this time, so be sure you check it out too!! πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by! Have an AWESOME sunshiney weekend!!

Oh, Deer

I was excited to ink up these new little cutie deer from the new Ellen Hutson Oh Deer set last night. I was anxiously awaiting Julie Ebersole’s new sets, and of course, she did not disappoint. πŸ™‚

I say “oh dear” a lot, and I thought it would be punny to make a little *party animal* scene. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill-oh-deer I used a silver ink to stamp the background “confetti”, but when it was all said and done, it doesn’t have the sparkle I was hoping for. That’s ok, it’s still festive looking! Especially because she has lost control of her party hat. Haaaa! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill-oh-deer_00

I also used Ellen Hutson’s Bear Ware and dies for the fun party hats and cupcake! I clear heat embossed and colored on Bristol paper with my Zig markers, before die cutting everything out. I then used some Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink for the aqua background.

I’m entering this in the Essentials by Ellen February Pin-Sights Challenge. Check it out. I always love the jump start of inspiration!

Just Awesome

I could spend an entire day usingΒ  Neat & Tangled’s Hexastar Cover Plate! I always think I will trim it up and use it differently. And eventually I will, but I love to inlay it! So that’s what happens when I sit down to use it πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill-awesome

I also used their awesome Awesome die. πŸ™‚ Can you use the same adjective to describe the noun? Haaaaa! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill-awesome_00

This is a dark navy color and a bright flamingo pink. Quite spring like, and fitting for the most bazarro warm weather we have been having here this February! πŸ˜‰

I’m joining in the Little Tangles Challenge by the skin of my teeth! Check it out HERE.

Also, my friend Miriam, who designed this Hexastar Cover plate I used above, designed more gems for Neat & Tangled that just released… THIS and THIS! So brilliant! Both are on my wish list, along with a dozen other things. Always, right?! πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

Perfect Right Now

I think this little bunny is so stinkin’ cute with his floppiness <3. I’ve been wanting to use him in bulk. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_cuddle-bunny

When I saw the current Ellen Hutson’s January Pin Sight Challenge, I thought now is the time! The photo inspiration directly and indirectly refers to COZY! ❀ Perfect! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_cuddle-bunny_00

I used Ellen Hutson’s All Inside, Bear Ware and Warm Fuzzies! I colored these cuties all with Copic Markers, and die cut them out. I then used some Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink to add a little watercolor to the panel. I heat embossed the sentiment and stitched it right on. To finish, I matted the panel and put it all together. This took a little bit of time overall, but in the end, the cute result was worth it! πŸ™‚

I’m entering this in the Essentials by Ellen January Pin-Sights Challenge. Check it out.
