Hello Color!

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #286. My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!photoI made a horizontal card which, feels a little foreign to me nowadays. 🙂

hawkins_jill_hello2_wmI used this MFT diagonal coverup, so the sketch took an angle by default. 😉

hawkins_jill_hello2_00_wmI die cut everything and then did some stitching. Finally, I added glossy accents to all the letters. I was on the fence about doing that, but it always adds a little pop of fun, I think. If only I didn’t get hand cramps from squeezing my Glossy Accents bottle. Haaaa! 🙂

Bonus! I used the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge this week–#398! When I saw that awesome combo this week, I was hoping to get in on it 🙂 Success! So summery and spunky! Check out their Color Challenge this (and every) week HERE.

My card is made with supplies at My Favorite Things. Die-namics: Stitched Cover Up Companion Diagonal, and the Highrise Lower Case Alphabet. Card stock: Smooth White, Black Licorice, Limelight, Lemon Drop, Razzle berry, and Cherry Crisp.

My Beaker Bubbles; MFT Sketch #263

photoAnother week, another MFT Sketch Challenge. Sketch #263 on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog. Yana’s guest projects over there this month are fun!! 🙂

Here’s my take: Love. This. Chemistry. ❤
hawkins_jill_my beaker1_wm
I stamped gray on gray here, but the ink really soaked into the card stock overnight. Wacky.

Also, I believe this is a flask, not a beaker. But I color owls blue. So, you know. All is fair in creative endeavors, right? 😉

hawkins_jill_my beaker_00_wmLaina’s newly released sets for January make me so very happy! The minute I saw it, I knew there was Undeniable Chemistry! 🙂

My card is made with the following supplies at My Favorite Things: Die-namics: LLD Chemistry Set, Basic Edges, File Folder Edges, Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX (LOVE!), Stitched Fishtail Banners. Stamps: Undeniable Chemistry. Card stock and Inks.

MFT Sketch #250 AND Holiday Tag!

photoMFT Sketch Challenge #250 begins on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog today!

This week’s sketch:

MFT_WSC_250Here is my take this week:

hawkins_jill_elfie_wmI sort of stretched the center panels wider and shifted the feature element (in this case, the Elf’s selfie) to the side. I then used the letters for the banner element. Just a little creative interpretation right? 🙂

*elfie! I still giggle.

hawkins_jill_elfie_00_wmThis week is also an exciting, fun-filled Handmade Holiday celebration on the MFT Blog!

PrintBe sure to hop over there and catch up! Today, there are Tags-O-Plenty from several members of the Design Teams. I love tags! Here is my contribution:

hawkins_jill_joy tag_reWMOh my word–How much do I love the way the Four Way Chevron die cut with the Snow Drifts Cover Up and then with the Stitched Tag. I pulled it out of my machine after all the cutting, and just sort of gasped! LOL 🙂 Be sure to go join in the fun!

MFT Sketch #246

photo

MFT Sketch Challenge #246 is starting on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog today!

This week’s sketch:  My card for the week:  I always enjoy the Abstract cover-up. In all white, it is stellar too. Thought it made for a fun backdrop on this shaped shaker card. 😉 And, this is quite close to the sketch! Whoooohoo!

MFT Sketch #243

photoBuckle up, MFT Sketch Challenge #243 is on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration posts up today!!

This week’s sketch:MFT_WSC_243My card for the week:

hawkins_jill_make happy_00_wmThis one is a doozy to write instructions for, that don’t sound wack…die cut the die cut and then die cut that die cut…etc. Several die cutting and inlay steps…but such cool results! That checkerboard! Weeeeee!

hawkins_jill_make happy_wmI made another card previously (for MFT Summer School) using this same method. You can see it HERE. I still want to do a myriad of colors with this checkerboard. That’s on my list for September/October 😉

I squeaked in a second card last night for this awesomely versatile sketch:

hawkins_jill_bear hug_wmI could use several of this card to send out. ❤

hawkins_jill_bear hug_00_wmI used foam tape to pop the frame up. Adds a little something 😉

My first card is made with the following supplies at My Favorite Things:

SSS Challenge #282

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!! #282! This one is crazy versatile for your imagination! 🙂

Here’s this week’s sketch:

My card for the week: hawkins_jill_ms c_wmGetting ready for Back-to-School…and EARLY no less!! Wahhhoooooo!

The card base was stamped with Grout Gray polka dots, but overnight, I think the card stock absorbed the ink more than I anticipated. ha! 🙂 You can just barely make them out.

hawkins_jill_ms c_00_wmFor this panel’s background, I actually *stamped* the Abstract Stencil with the Field Day die ink on a card stock panel. The panel had been laying around my desk for a while and I finally used it! Double whahoo! 😛

My card was made with supplies from My Favorite Things: (background stamps rock!)
