I remember watching the MFT Superstar Design contest last year and thought how much fun it looked to participate. I was excited to see year two of the contest this year. As time goes, well, I’m barely sneaking one in, but here it is!
I do love a colorful card! 🙂
Some good ol’ die cutting of the die cut. Good times. 🙂For this, I first die cut the Four Way Chevron and inlaid that. Then I cut that panel with the Chunky Chevron Cover Up. I put down the Chunky Chevron panel and glued on all the Chevron bits in and removed it. The letters are the HIgh Rise Alphabet. (A long time fave!) I added a little stitching to finish it off, and whammo, done! 🙂
I admittedly almost binned this one, because it seemed too busy. But in the end, I kept going, and eventually warmed to it a bit. 🙂
I’m going to hop over there and check out some of the entries soon! I love a good contest–so much talent! 🙂 Check it all out HERE.
Thanks for stopping by!
Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #286. My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!I made a horizontal card which, feels a little foreign to me nowadays. 🙂
I used this MFT diagonal coverup, so the sketch took an angle by default. 😉
I die cut everything and then did some stitching. Finally, I added glossy accents to all the letters. I was on the fence about doing that, but it always adds a little pop of fun, I think. If only I didn’t get hand cramps from squeezing my Glossy Accents bottle. Haaaa! 🙂
Bonus! I used the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge this week–#398! When I saw that awesome combo this week, I was hoping to get in on it 🙂 Success! So summery and spunky! Check out their Color Challenge this (and every) week HERE.
My card is made with supplies at My Favorite Things. Die-namics: Stitched Cover Up Companion Diagonal, and the Highrise Lower Case Alphabet. Card stock: Smooth White, Black Licorice, Limelight, Lemon Drop, Razzle berry, and Cherry Crisp.

Here is my take this week:
I sort of stretched the center panels wider and shifted the feature element (in this case, the Elf’s selfie) to the side. I then used the letters for the banner element. Just a little creative interpretation right? 🙂
*elfie! I still giggle.
This week is also an exciting, fun-filled Handmade Holiday celebration on the MFT Blog!
Be sure to hop over there and catch up! Today, there are Tags-O-Plenty from several members of the Design Teams. I love tags! Here is my contribution:
Oh my word–How much do I love the way the Four Way Chevron die cut with the Snow Drifts Cover Up and then with the Stitched Tag. I pulled it out of my machine after all the cutting, and just sort of gasped! LOL 🙂 Be sure to go join in the fun!

MFT Sketch Challenge #242 on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration begins today!
Here is this week’s sketch:My card for the week: I am obviously completely enjoying this new Four Way Chevron Cover-Up from the August release. 🙂 🙂
I die cut the Four Way Chevron many times and pieced it together. Then I die cut that whole thing with the Stripes Cover-up and pieced those in. And then die cut that whole thing with the Rectangle STAX. Dang–so so fun! 🙂
Check out the card I made for the final session of MFT Summer School HERE. Other pieces. Two cards. Dynamite.
