Make Merry from Simon Says Stamp!

I am joining the fun over at Simon Says Stamp for the new Make Merry release!! Happy Holiday season–let’s get the cardmaking started!

For this card, I’m using the NEW Slimline Christmas Wafer Die and it is delightful! It comes with the backer outline, so I was excited to use this cardstock strip technique! Whenever I get a good blocky font, I can’t resist! πŸ™‚

This clean and simple card is ready to mail! The trick on this long slim card is to keep the stitching straight, if that is the intention. Which it was on this card for me. πŸ™‚

I love a card with stripes of color and lots of white! Everytime! πŸ™‚

Here is the Simon Says Stamp product I used:

Thanks to Simon Says Stamp for having me along to join in Make Merry release! Be sure to check it all out >> HERE <<.Β

Happy Holiday Cardmaking season!! πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by!

Take care–Jill

The Cutest Video Hop EVER: 2020!

Hola and welcome to our stop on The Cutest Video Hop Ever for 2020!Β  My son and I are VERY excited to be joining Emily Leiphart for our third year on this fun YouTube Hop, inspiring the next generation of crafters!Β  We hope you have as much fun watching us craft with our kids–or in my case, watching my son craft! Ha!

Thanks so much to our very generous sponsors who have donated SO MANY PRIZES! πŸ™‚

My only contribution to his card was stamping and diecutting all the images (aka “beautiful photos of some cute little bears”) for him ahead of time. As you will notice, he is not short winded as this video started out at 20 minutes–ha! I edited it down to 10 minutes, so don’t panic! (yes, I know that is still tooooo long. πŸ™‚ ). You’ll be able to tell, he handled all the rest (and then some) himself. He likes to chat and has a lot to say–with bits of advice about crafting, but I think it applies to life too, often. πŸ™‚ . He is such a fun kid and quite the natural, which I’m thinking is completely opposite of me if I did videos? who knows! ha! ❀

Please note: I do not make videos. For those who do, bravo once again!Β  πŸ™‚

Here is our video ❀ :

Here is a photo of my son’s card:Β He used Lawn Fawn’s Snow Much Fun Stamp set HERE andΒ  Snow Much Fun dies HERE.

This turned out oh so sweet and I love all his thinking behind the colors and his descriptions about being patient, etc. ❀ He’s such a stitch!

Miss You!

Happy Weekend! Popping in super duper quick to share this fun card I made using the images from the Lawn Fawn/Ellen Hutson S’more the Merrier set that my friend Chari (Thank you, Chari! ❀ ) sent me to color for The Daily Marker 30 Day! We had a small gang of some coloring friends and we all stamped and swapped images to color throughout the month of July. I will have to post all the cards that came of the month on my blog sometime soon. It was so fun and a great way to stretch myself! πŸ™‚

Anyway…on with the card….

I blended on several different Distress Inks over the Taylored Expressions Circle Masking Stencil (HERE) and then added the images I fussy cut and colored with Copic Markers. I think it’s safe to say I never made a background like this and it was fun to make. Room to improve, but when isn’t there? πŸ™‚

Gah!! How cute are these little critters!? I used a much older sentiment set from Lawn Fawn for the speech bubble. You can find this cutie Lawn Fawn/Ellen Hutson S’more the Merrier set over at Ellen Hutson HERE. πŸ™‚

Thank you to my friends Alyssa, Caren, Chari, Jen, Latisha and Lori for a FUN month of virtual crafting—coloring together from afar! ❀

Take care– Jill πŸ™‚

Sending Happy Thoughts!

It is raining cats and dogs here for the next 24 hours at least, so I thought I’d pop in and share a few more rainbows using the new Rainbow Turnabout from Concord & 9th!

This rainbow stamp is called Rainbow Turnabout (you can find it HERE)! πŸ™‚ The sentiment is from the Tropical Vibes Turnabout stamp HERE.

I thought it would be fun to mix up the colors of inks this go round. I think they both turned out fun and just slightly different. πŸ™‚

A smidge of pastel/retro maybe? πŸ™‚

Once again, here is a Pro Tip from my friend Cheryl, that will change your world using this Rainbow Turnabout stamp:

Mount this stamp on a new cutting plate from your die cut machine or on the old Fiskars Stamp Press or the like. It works sooooo much easier than trying to use this turnabout on the Misti. My friends experienced many trials and errors with Misti and once we tried this plate thing: Ba Bam! So much easier! πŸ™‚ Genius, Cheryl!! ❀

I’m going to pop these in the mail ASAP! πŸ™‚

I used my favorite Hearts from Paper Smooches HERE. It’s in the die set called Hearts. πŸ™‚ ❀

The die around the outside that creates the lines is called Lawn Fawn: Just Stitching Double Rectangles Dies HERE.

Check out my previous Rainbow Turnabout stamp cards HERE and another C9 post HERE.

Supplies:

Thanks for stopping by today! I’m hoping to see a REAL rainbow after all this rain ends. Yikes!

Always a Rainbow!

Hello! Popping in today to share a card I made yesterday in a few moments of Mom time–DAY CRAFTING! What? I know. (Technically, it was early evening but daylight! ha!) I thought the same as I was making it.Β  Ha!

Love this little turtle from Lawn Fawn so very much and I had to use him!

Eeep –he’s the cutest! I used the sentiment from this set and another to say exactly what I wanted!

I love the addition of the felt hearts. Taylored Expressions felt is my super fave!

The current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge is Pet Love and I thought I’d join in the fun! I haven’t been able to play along in quite some time, so I seized the opportunity. My brother and I had a teeny pet turtle when we were kids. We ended up letting him go, but we really liked him while we had him briefly. Check it out HERE:

I had to make this one for a friend and get it in the mail–STAT! πŸ™‚

Lawn Fawn goodies: Get Well Before ‘nΒ  Afters (and dies HERE), Rain or Shine Before ‘n Afters, Really Rainbow Petite Paper ( ❀ ), and Valentine Borders.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks to Lawn Fawnatics for keeping the challenges coming! πŸ™‚

Take care– Jill πŸ™‚

Rainbows and Cuteness!

Happy Day to you! I just wanted to pop in and share a stash of cards I made a couple of weeks ago… they make me smile and I hope they brighten your day too!

Isn’t this little Lawn Fawn Rainbow just the sweetest little ditty?! It’s called: Rain or Shine Before and Afters.I always love the smiling faces! The background paper is Lawn Fawn’s Really Rainbow Scallop. Love it!

Then I colored another Lawn Fawn rainbow and colored him in too. πŸ™‚

For this one, I stenciled on some clouds for the background. The little background scallop is Lawn Fawn’s.

And lastly, I had to commit this cutie Doodlebug sticker to a card. I wanted to hoard it, like we crafters do, but it just wanted to be on a card. πŸ™‚ I likely won’t mail this one, but that’s neither here nor there now, right? πŸ˜‰

It is a smiling typewriter with smiling paper!!! This makes me so happy! πŸ™‚

The stenciled background I made with Altenew’s Halftone stencil.

Thanks for stopping by! Come by tomorrow for a special blog post and VIDEO!! What? I know πŸ™‚

Take care– Jill πŸ™‚
