MFT Challenges

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #305 and Color Challenge #56! My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog.photo

Thought it would be fun to the combine the two!

I am a fan of the funky Fuse Green. 🙂  Basically I die cut, stamped, and scored this card base, putting it all together with foam tape. I changed the oval to a circle, only because I like circles better! Ha!!

Hedgehugs | MFT Sketch 302

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #302! My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog! Wow, I barely missed a few MFT Sketch Challenges in over a 1.5 years, and then I missed a lot of them! Ah, Life. ❤ 😉photoI just enjoyed an awesome crafty weekend full of laughs, and hugs, and craftiness! I am having a hard time adjusting back to reality. 🙂 To hug your crafty friends in person is priceless, and then I met so many new friends too. Just AWESOME and so heartwarming! ❤

Anywho, they were all generous to share their stamps, so I borrowed these, and made this cutie card. 🙂

hawkins_jill_hedgehugs_wmThis little guy! Too fun! 🙂

hawkins_jill_hedgehugs_00_wmI used Copic markers to color him, and kept the rest pretty clean and simple.

hello

I remember watching the MFT Superstar Design contest last year and thought how much fun it looked to participate. I was excited to see year two of the contest this year. As time goes, well, I’m barely sneaking one in, but here it is!

PrintI do love a colorful card! 🙂

hawkins_jill_hello-bright_00_wmSome good ol’ die cutting of the die cut. Good times. 🙂hawkins_jill_hello-bright_wmFor this, I first die cut the Four Way Chevron and inlaid that. Then I cut that panel with the Chunky Chevron Cover Up. I put down the Chunky Chevron panel and glued on all the Chevron bits in and removed it. The letters are the HIgh Rise Alphabet. (A long time fave!) I added a little stitching to finish it off, and whammo, done! 🙂

I admittedly almost binned this one, because it seemed too busy. But in the end, I kept going, and eventually warmed to it a bit. 🙂

I’m going to hop over there and check out some of the entries soon! I love a good contest–so much talent! 🙂 Check it all out HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello, Sunshine | MFT Sketch 294

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #294! My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog! It’s so worth hopping over there to read Susan’s posts! You will not be disappointed. Ever. 🙂photoGeesh, I almost missed this week’s sketch. I thought about it a few times and then bam, it’s Monday night! Phew. Squeaking in with this little number.

hawkins_jill_hello sunshine_wmI stamped and embossed some of the stamping. Then I watercolored in the image and background with my Zig markers, via an acrylic block. Sometimes, that just works better for me, depending on the look I’m going for.

hawkins_jill_hello sunshine_00_wmI mixed up the elements of the sketch a bit, since the chameleon had to be on the right, for tail purposes. 🙂

MFT Color Challenge #51

Here’s my take on MFT Color Challenge #51! These challenges come from the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!

I thought I would use the Happy Birthday Centerpieces die cut, and change it up a smidgen. 🙂

hawkins_jill_HB_wmIt has a bit of an 80’s feel to it, doesn’t it? 🙂

hawkins_jill_HB_00_wmAnd now that I have these die cuts in all four colors, I am ready to make 3 more cards!! 🙂 Bonus! 🙂

More MFT Supplies: BG Grid Background and Blueprints 13. 🙂

Eleven!! | MFT Sketch 293

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #293! My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!photoI was sitting down last night to make my niece a birthday card, and then thought I’d try to rock the sketch too. Worked out well. 11 already though? Gulp. Happy Birthday, E! 🙂 ❤

hawkins_jill_11_wmThese number dies just retired. 😦 I’ll still use them bunches though. 🙂 I also laugh that I chose to stamp “You Are”….not sure why, but it makes me laugh. News flash: “You Are 11!”. LOL 🙂

hawkins_jill_11_00_wmI often neglect the few stencils I have, but gosh, such cool things you can do with them. I must try to use them more often! Those, and PP. 🙂 Haaaa!

Supplies from My Favorite Things: Die-namics Big Numbers, File Folder Edges, Pierced Square Frame STAX. Stamps: LLD Stars and Wishes. Stencil: Chunky Herringbone.

Sending Hugs | MFT Sketch 291

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #291. My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!photoI used the scene I made last night for #thedailymarker30day. I was all set to turn in early, so I was planning something simple and quick. But then, this happened! Haaa! So much masking and then I colored in with both my Zig markers and Distress Inks as watercolors. I kinda botched painting the Ferris Wheel back there, but it was too late to turn back. It isn’t tragic, right?  🙂 I finished the card with some stitching, and matted the whole panel.

hawkins_jill_sending hugs_wmI used the Sketch as a guide for this scene. Can you see the inspiration? It is definitely there! 🙂

These are a couple of my favorite MFT stamp sets: London Mouse and Label Maker Love by My Favorite Things. 🙂
