Hello, Sunshine | MFT Sketch 294

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #294! My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog! It’s so worth hopping over there to read Susan’s posts! You will not be disappointed. Ever. πŸ™‚photoGeesh, I almost missed this week’s sketch. I thought about it a few times and then bam, it’s Monday night! Phew. Squeaking in with this little number.

hawkins_jill_hello sunshine_wmI stamped and embossed some of the stamping. Then I watercolored in the image and background with my Zig markers, via an acrylic block. Sometimes, that just works better for me, depending on the look I’m going for.

hawkins_jill_hello sunshine_00_wmI mixed up the elements of the sketch a bit, since the chameleon had to be on the right, for tail purposes. πŸ™‚

MFT Color Challenge #51

Here’s my take onΒ MFT Color Challenge #51! These challenges come from the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!

I thought I would use the Happy Birthday Centerpieces die cut, and change it up a smidgen. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_HB_wmIt has a bit of an 80’s feel to it, doesn’t it? πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_HB_00_wmAnd now that I have these die cuts in all four colors, I am ready to make 3 more cards!! πŸ™‚ Bonus! πŸ™‚

More MFT Supplies: BG Grid Background and Blueprints 13. πŸ™‚

Eleven!! | MFT Sketch 293

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #293! My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!photoI was sitting down last night to make my niece a birthday card, and then thought I’d try to rock the sketch too. Worked out well. 11 already though? Gulp. Happy Birthday, E! πŸ™‚ ❀

hawkins_jill_11_wmThese number dies just retired. 😦 I’ll still use them bunches though. πŸ™‚ I also laugh that I chose to stamp “You Are”….not sure why, but it makes me laugh. News flash: “You Are 11!”. LOL πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_11_00_wmI often neglect the few stencils I have, but gosh, such cool things you can do with them. I must try to use them more often! Those, and PP. πŸ™‚ Haaaa!

Supplies from My Favorite Things: Die-namics Big Numbers, File Folder Edges, Pierced Square Frame STAX. Stamps: LLD Stars and Wishes. Stencil: Chunky Herringbone.

Sending Hugs | MFT Sketch 291

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #291. My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!photoI used the scene I made last night for #thedailymarker30day. I was all set to turn in early, so I was planning something simple and quick. But then, this happened! Haaa! So much masking and then I colored in with both my Zig markers and Distress Inks as watercolors. I kinda botched painting the Ferris Wheel back there, but it was too late to turn back. It isn’t tragic, right?Β  πŸ™‚ I finished the card with some stitching, and matted the whole panel.

hawkins_jill_sending hugs_wmI used the Sketch as a guide for this scene. Can you see the inspiration? It is definitely there! πŸ™‚

These are a couple of my favorite MFT stamp sets: London Mouse and Label Maker Love by My Favorite Things. πŸ™‚

Warm Heart for MFT Sketch 290

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #290. My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!photoI used my little tag from #thedailymarker30day last night and whipped it in to a cute card to mail. πŸ™‚ It can definitely be a challenge to color each day. Other days, no problem! πŸ™‚ Either way, I’m glad for the challenge to complete and practice, practice, practice! Quite fun!

hawkins_jill_warm heart_00_wmThis little pup has always been a favorite of mine, so I stamped him up, colored with Copics, and I’ll pop him in the mail. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_warm heart_wmHave I mentioned my die cutting machine is on the fritz? Oh boy, is it ever. Don’t look too closely at this card or you’ll see the evidence of my failing little machine. It’s done a lot of cutting for me, but it’s hard to make that big purchase again. However, it looks inevitable. I think my birthday may come early this year? yikes. πŸ™‚

My card is made with supplies at My Favorite Things: Top Dog, Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX, Stitched Traditional Tag STAX, and Chevron Stripes.

hawkins_jill_darn great_wmThis color combo is not totally my thing, but I figured I’d share it anyway. πŸ™‚

Greeting from Chicago!

I have been super excited to get this Hero Arts stamp set since I first saw it. πŸ™‚ Then, Ellen Hutson had a sale, it was in stock, and bam! It landed in my mailbox. Funny how that works, right? πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_chicago_wmThis little set is awesome and also delightful because: Wrigley! More to come with it for sure. Fun stuff by Kelly Purkey/Hero Arts!! πŸ™‚Β  I did make another card already, and then proceeded to smear ink on it. Ugh! #toolateatnight … So, I need to remake that one another day. πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_chicago_00_wmThought it would be fun to use the Chicago flag as inspiration. The hearts I used are from THIS die set, All Inside, by Julie Ebersole/Ellen Hutson. The stitched border die is the Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX from My Favorite Things. Definitely wear this STAX out! πŸ™‚

That’s all from Chicagoland today! Looking forward to more fun from this set! πŸ™‚

Hello Color!

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #286. My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!photoI made a horizontal card which, feels a little foreign to me nowadays. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_hello2_wmI used this MFT diagonal coverup, so the sketch took an angle by default. πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_hello2_00_wmI die cut everything and then did some stitching. Finally, I added glossy accents to all the letters. I was on the fence about doing that, but it always adds a little pop of fun, I think. If only I didn’t get hand cramps from squeezing my Glossy Accents bottle. Haaaa! πŸ™‚

Bonus! I used the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge this week–#398! When I saw that awesome combo this week, I was hoping to get in on it πŸ™‚ Success! So summery and spunky! Check out their Color Challenge this (and every) week HERE.

My card is made with supplies at My Favorite Things. Die-namics: Stitched Cover Up Companion Diagonal, and the Highrise Lower Case Alphabet. Card stock: Smooth White, Black Licorice, Limelight, Lemon Drop, Razzle berry, and Cherry Crisp.

MFT Sketch 285. That is All.

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #285. My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog!photoI looked at the sketch, and all I could recall was linear, so I ran with that, as you can clearly tell. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_that is all_wmI inked up the Distressed Patterns stamp in all different colors. Sometimes I pick them out in advance. Often, I wing it as I go. This being a prime example. I’m not sure which tactic is better? But I tend to get more of an atypical combo if I wing it! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_that is all_00_wmI do love me some lines. And this sentiment. It is far from being a clear stamp anymore. πŸ˜‰

My card is made with supplies at My Favorite Things. Die-namics: Blueprints 24, Stamps: Penguins in Paradise and Distressed Patterns. Card stock: Smooth White.
