Gel Printing from Taylored Expressions!

Today, there is a NEW Kit available over at  Taylored Expressions! The Gel Printing kit is AWESOME and really, really fun! If you have never tired Gel Press (like me) before, you’re going to become quickly addicted. I couldn’t stop making prints!

For all my cards, I only used the paint in the kits. You can achieve a WIDE variety of colors from just these tubes of pain, as you can see below.

This was so fun how it turned out. Be sure you relax and enjoy the process on the Gel Press. Many of us struggle with control while creating (me!) and this is not the place to worry. 🙂

Stencils ahoy! This one below is the new Willow Stencil and the one above is the new Trendy Triangles stencil.

I finished this one off the the Petite Rectangle Stacklet and some black bits.

Lastly, I used the Dizzy Daisy Stencil to really go off the rails for another fun one! It’s great to try all the things when gel pressing!

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions. Hooray!

Here’s the TE scoop:

If you love the idea of printing your own patterns in a variety of colors and designs then you’re going to love what you can accomplish with our Gel Printing Kit! Gel press printing is a technique that uses a gel printing plate (a soft and sticky plate made out of a polymer material) and a medium, like acrylic paint or dye-based inks, to create artistic prints and patterns. Everything in this project kit was hand-selected by Gel Press expert Lydia Fiedler to get you started creating unique gel press backgrounds for your cards!

The Gel Printing Kit retails for $69 and includes:

  • One 5″ x 7″ Gel Press Plate
  • Five 4 oz tubes of acrylic paint (blue, magenta, yellow, pearl metallic white and titanium white)
  • 20 sheets of Gel Press Paper (5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″)
  • One 4″ Soft Rubber Speedball Brayer
  • One 2 oz bottle of gel hand sanitizer (for removing paint residue from the plate)
  • A hinged Gel Press Storage Tin (7 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ x 1″)

Once you complete your kit purchase, you will receive an email (separate from your order confirmation email) with a link to the exclusive class video on YouTube. Watch it as often as you like and learn some great gel press printing tips and tricks while discovering inspiration for more designs!

In addition to the Gel Printing Kit, we are offering a new background stamp, several new stencil designs, and packages of Gel Press Paper! You can use the new stamp and stencils with your gel press or for other paper crafting projects.

I’ll be back to update all my supply lists later! 🙂

Christmas Release from Taylored Expressions!

Taylored Expressions has their big Christmas Release today !!  It’s a big one filled with all things Christmas, Winter, Holidays and Festive fun! 🙂

I can’t wait to use all the things to craft my little holiday heart out. But for now, let’s get to what I have made so far, yes?

First up today, I have the new Little Critters Christmas + coordinating dies. I also used the previously released Circle and Square Window Frames.

The background is created with the Backstory Christmas Background embossed in white on Sugar Cube. It’s not very apparent in these photos (because white on white), but in person, it gives it that little extra something.

Everyone is colored with Copic Markers and the panel is cut out with the Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets. Gah these little guys are TOO cute!!! And the best part is they can be used all winter long! Or heck, even in the summer with their friends, Little Critters! 😊

Next up, we have the super fun Trendy Tree Farm. I was pretty darn excited to get this layering stencil set. I love the modern feel of this fun set and anything with layering stencils you know is just going to fun and easy to create with! I paired this with the new Merry & Bright sentiment set + dies.

I used the following inks on the stencils: Guava, Cupcake, Peaches n Cream, Pineapple, Lemon, Mint Julep, and Blueberry.

The background is created with the previously release Twinkle Twinkle Background embossed on white using Mint Julep cardstock. I die cut the panel out with the Frame in Frame 2 die. I thought it would be fun to stamp the trees and sentiment in Blueberry to mix things up a bit. OH and also, I die cut all the Trendy Trees out with the Trendy Tree Farm Cutting Plate–boom! All at once! SCORE!

Lastly, I used the new Beautiful Baubles dies. These dies coordinate with the previously released Beautiful Baubles Layering Stencils. So now you can die cut these out and use them individually. I did just that here, creating a little bundle of ornaments.

To create this frame, I die cut Pineapple cardstock with the Mini Slim Thin Frame Cutting Plate. I used the Beautiful Baubles Add Ons for the sentiment and the little ornament topper.

In my continued effort to mix up my color pallets, I used Sweet Basil, Lollipop and Pineapple for this card. I thought it turned out fun with a little different twist! 🙂

Christmas Cards! Always a fun time of the year! 🙂

Wheatfield Dreams from Taylored Expressions

Today, there is a NEW Kit available over at  Taylored Expressions! The Wheatfield Dreams kit is designed by my friend Lori Craig and it is as delightful as her previous two kits: Field Notes and Field Notes 2. This one is a nod to Lori’s home state of Kansas and it is a delight!

I started out getting super crafty with all the watercolor colors. I first embossed the new wheat stamp and then added a bunch of watercolors and blended around. I used the new Honey and Mulled Wine watercolor.

This kit has lovely sentiments in it too. I stamped this one on a small piece of torn vellum and heat embossed it before stitching it on to finish off the card.

I finished it up by die cutting with the Petite Scallop Rectangle stacklet, naturally. 🙂

Next up, I thought it would be a fun twist to do a rainbow color wave with the Burlap Background in the kit and some partial die cutting.

I used the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and layered this up to match. Now, I’m thinking I might have liked to layer it up with foam tape. Next time maybe. 🙂

I added some score lines to the card base and kept the rest fairly simple. I finished off both of these with some twine and some stitching, which I find fitting for this kit.

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions. Hooray!

Here’s the TE scoop:

Here’s everything included in the Wheatfield Dreams Kit – which is available for $69:

  • Wheatfield Dreams stamp set
  • Wheatfield Dreams die collection
  • Burlap Background stamp
  • Foil It – Wheatfield
  • Mini Embossing Powder – Copper
  • 6 A2 Envelopes, 2 each of: Honey, Mulled Wine, and Sweet Basil
  • Packaged in a zippered pouch with a custom kit label

Limited quantity available. Most items are not available to purchase individually.

You will be able to purchase additional envelope seals (pack of 10) and new TE Liquid Watercolor colors (Honey, Mulled Wine, and Sweet Basil) separately.

Abstract Kit from Taylored Expressions

Today, there is a NEW Kit available over at  Taylored Expressions! It’s call the Abstract Kit and it has endless possibilities! There are so many different ideas and color combos I can think of with these stencils alone. Gah! 🙂

I started out using the stencils mostly with different color inks. I chose a more Fall inspired palette, mostly because I was all about the autumn colors when I made these.

I used the Frame in Frame 2 die and a combo of the stencils with the stamps to create little piles in the corners.

I love cards like these because I feel like there are endless possibilities to colors and configurations with these. This makes them fun to mass produce and super for making and gifting card sets!

The stamps are fun to add on top of each other or just as little bits here and there. These are so simple but yet they were so fun to design.

AND for the record, I used Avocado ink… and I’m not sure I have ever used Avocado before? Is that possible? ha! 🙂

I finished off both of these with some twine and some stitching. ❤

I also wanted to use the Subtle Sprigs die set  additional die cuts, Branch Out die set, you can add on to your kit.

For this card  AND the next, I also branched out (wink wink) and used the Dijon cardstock! Again, have I used this before? I really stretched my color windows for this kit. 🙂

I die cut from both the Dijon and the Sweet Potato Pie, piecing everything back in again. For the backgrounds on both my cards, I used the Shiplap Background stamped with Mushroom.

The Shiplap Background is in that must-have category for me. So versatile! I also used Plum Punch! Seriously, who am I? I clear embossed the sentiment on Vellum to make them stand out a wee bit more

And once again, I finished these off with some twine and stitching. 🙂

This kit is easily one of my faves. I know I probably say that often, but thinking about using all these graphic stamps and stencils on my other projects so easily, makes my little crafty heart sing. 🙂

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions.

Here’s the TE scoop:

Here’s everything included in the In the Abstract Kit – which is available for $72:

  • Abstract Accents Stencil & Clear Stamp Combo set
  • Bitty Blender Brushes – set of 2

Merry Blooms Kit from Taylored Expressions–Merry Merry!

Today, there is a NEW Kit available over at  Taylored Expressions and it is VERY Merry! And very Bloomy. Is that a word? It is now. 😄! This kit is the perfect scenario if you just want to create a good stack of cards and get ahead for your holiday card mailings. It’s all there for you, you just need ink! 🙂

I decided to try out a couple different things with my cards here today.

First up, let’s talk about this card, because I think it might very well be my favorite! 🙂 It is so different from anything I have made and honestly, I’m not entirely sure how it happened. ha!

For these flowers, I used the following ink colors, blended on with TE Blending Brushes: Sea Salt, Salt Water Taffy, Confetti Cake, Potato Chip and Mushroom. I started first with the Sea Salt adding that down to create kind of a base and a good white shadow, if you will. On top of that I went very lightly with the other colors. I have seen blue poinsettias, but I am not entirely sure about them, so I gave these a white with a tinge of blue hue.

I used the stamps in the Merry Blooms Clear Stamp set to add all the details to the individual pieces. For the leaves, I inked the background stamp with a bunch of different greens and even some yellow.

The sentiment is from the Clearly Crafty Joyful Season stamp set and then I used the coordinating dies (which need to be purchased separately from the kit) to die cut it out before adhering with a couple layers of cardstock underneath.

I added this vellum frame using the Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets and the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. I am digging how this turned out. It is not only full of holiday cheer, but it also says winter to me–cozy winter! The good kind of winter. 🙂

I finish everything off with some stitching and Clear Drip Drops.

Next up, I made a few tags using the Pierced Tag Stacklets and added one to the TE Clear Treat Boxes. For these I went to more of a traditional holiday red, using lots of different TE Reds and pinks. I even used Mulled Wine, which I admittedly do not use too often, so that’s always fun for me!

I white heat embossed these little sentiments on some strips of Sweet Basil cardstock. Looking forward to using these tags at the holidays for sure!

On these tags and both of my cards, I also used the Spattered Background and white heat embossed that. I like how it gives it a snowy wintery look. I could use this background on most every card, I think. ❤

Lastly, I have this card, using more of a Spearmint looking set of leaves. I also used Mint Julep. This green combo is delightful.

I added some Silver Glitter to the center of these Poinsettias. Again, I also used the Spatter Background with some Mushroom ink to add little extra bit of goodness. I used the Frame in Frame die to create this panel. I added a nest of silver thread behind the sentiment to tie into the silver glitter. So festive!

Of course, I love these envelope colors in this kit and the stickers. Always the stickers. But I’m going to need some more Dijon envelopes. How do I not have these already?

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions. Here’s the TE scoop:

Here’s everything included the Merry Blooms Kit – which is available for $69:

  • Merry Blooms Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set
  • Perfect Poinsettia die collection
  • Clearly Crafty Joyful Season stamp set
  • Bits & Pieces – Red Pearl & Gold Drip Drop Mix
  • 6 A2 Envelopes: Sugar Cube, Toffee, Cherry Pop, Mulled Wine, Djion, and Cilantro
  • Packaged in a zippered pouch with a custom kit label

Limited quantity available. Most items not available to purchase individually.

You will be able to purchase additional envelope packs, envelope seals, the new Bits & Pieces – Red Pearl Drip Drops, and the Joyful Season die collection separately.

PLEASE NOTE: The Joyful Season die collection (for the sentiments) is an add-on purchase that is available to purchase separately. It is not a part of the kit.

Taylored Expressions: Mom Release!

We are celebrating all the Moms over at  Taylored Expressions today. It’s a lovely release that can be used for many occasions AND people, even other than Mom. ❤

First up today, I am using the new Dear Mom and new Gathered Greenery.  The boldness of this font and the size of this sentiment lends itself to a lot of different techniques! For this card, I kept it pretty simple stamping the background, color blending, and then embossing the sentiment over it.

I did use sort of an ombre inking technique on the Gathered Greenery background while stamping it. I used all the colors on the stamp, as I learned that would give me the look I wanted vs. stamping it all in one color. It just takes a little more patience and you want to be sure to put your yellow ink on first etc.

I thought this turned out quite happy! And the funny part is inside…

bwwwwwaaahahahahaa!!

Next up, we have Pretty Posies. I actually used this flower upside down and made it into a cone flower vs. a posie! ha! How’s that for stretching your supplies?

For the background, I used the Mini Slim Cable Knit stencil, blending on Lemon Meringue, Pineapple, Grannie Smith and a touch of Cilantro!

Lastly, I wanted to try the kissing technique with the bold font of the Dear Mom, in combination with the new Gathered Greenery. It worked out so well!

First I stamped the Dear Mom in all the different colored inks in a solid. Then, once again, I inked the Gathered Greenery with multiple inks to create a rainbow sherbet background.

The last color I used was Honey and I didn’t blend it super well, but I went with it all anyway. 🙂

The Perfect Parent sentiments are too funny for the inside (or outside) of the cards!

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions.

Fun Stamp Joy Exclusives! Now released…

This week is Stamp Joy at  Taylored Expressions! 🙂 Because of the current state of the universe, Stamp Joy has been taking place online. This is different, but also lovely because it means Stamp Joy is available to everyone who can join virtually (and if you sign up 😉 ). The next Stamp Joy is actually later this week. If you signed up a little while back, you know all about it. If you didn’t get to sign up for this one, keep your eyes open for details on the next. Will it be in person? Online? It’s hard to guess.

Anywho–point being, there are products that are gifted as part of one’s registration to Stamp Joy, and today, Taylored Expressions is releasing the previous Stamp Joy goodies for everyone to be able to purchase them…or maybe you wanted to get a set and gift it to a stamping friend? Now is the time. 🙂

For my card today, I used the Social Butterflies set. This set is simply delightful and I am looking forward to creating a card set with it! 🙂

I had to make two! 🙂

I especially love this textured stamp–I think this is fun to use on it’s own too!

And this next one, I simplified, but then decided to stitch the butterfly trails, complicating things. ha! I am not super skilled at stitching in whirley q’s.

And because I almost always have to use the Petite Scalloped Rectangle Stacklets, I used those here too. Naturally. 😉

But the stitched little trails are kind of a fun and different detail too. 🙂

These are so simple to create and all the options you can mix up so easily makes it that much better! 🙂

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions.

Both Social Butterflies Cards:

Masking Stencil Essentials Release from TE

This is another great release over  at Taylored Expressions today! 🙂 It’s one of those releases which is awesome because it contains a lot of the essentail things we need for cardmaking all the things! These are all available at  Taylored Expressions today!

First up, we have the Scalloped Circles Masking Stencils! I love all the scallops, in case you haven’t noticed. 😉

I actually used double stencils on this. First I used the new Scalloped Circle Masking Stencil and then after I laid down a basic level of ink, I overlapped the Hot Spots stencil. I kept the Hot Spots in place using a piece of tape, like a book flap just to make it easier and create a cohesive background that I didn’t need to shift twice, like I did with the Scalloped Circle. I’m sure that makes zero sense, but if you were to try this, you’ll probably figure it out. 🙂

This little Gus is from the Gus and Gertie set (+ coordinating Gus & Gertie dies)  and the sentiments are from the Building Blocks: Be Bright set. I love how this fun card turned out! 🙂 Gus is one of my faves.

Next up, this optical illusion card. If it wasn’t a sentiment strip, this would be a one layer card! And I keep thinking it isn’t. ha!  But it is!  For this, I used the new Rectangle Scalloped Frame Masking Stencil and it made this awesome dimensional look with just the stencil.

I used two of the Petite Scallop Rectangle stencils together, blending in some Toffee ink. After that, leaving the “frame” I created with the two stencils, I stamped the Wood Plank Background stamp with Chocolate Truffle and Mocha over top. After that was all set, I left the stencil on and blended in the background with the different colors before stamping the Spring Stems. I wish I had added a little darker ink around the top and sides to create that same dimensional look that is created at the bottom, but live and learn. 🙂

I have to remember this technique, especially for cards that need to be mailed. It creates dimension without adding bulk. The Simple Strip sentiment is from the Simple Strips-Sympathy set.

Next up, there is a new die set which adds a great detail to your cards. These are the Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets and come in different shapes. For all these cards below, I used the Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets. But there are also Diagonal Stitch Square Stacklets in this release!

For this card, I also used an all time fave, the Over the Rainbow die in conjunction with the Rainbow Cloud Duo dies. I love the simple and subtle detail these  Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets add so easily.

I also needed a handful of Thank You cards this month, so I created all of these with the previously released Modern  Mosaic Stencil (using Pineapple, Lemon and Earl Gray on one and Mint Julep, Pea Pod and Cilantro on the other.)

These came together pretty quick overall and I have already used most of them. 🙂

Of course, the Simple Strips-Thank You set is the perfect fit along with the Big Thanks set.

I thought I had a favorite combo, but in the end, I like both of these scenarios equally. 🙂

I only wish I had doubled my batch. 🙂 Thank You cards are the cards I send most and I love having them ready to go so I can be more timely. I don’t always succeed, but I try! 🙂

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions.

Taylored Expressions: Hey There Kit Release!

Happy Tuesday! Today, we are having some big fun celebrating the Hey There Kit Release from Taylored Expressions! This kit is available over at Taylored Expressions NOW, September 29th!

Let’s jump right into a card, shall we?! I thought this first one would be a bright ray of sunshine to receive in the mail . 🙂

Hey There!

Next up, I thought I’d have some fun with the delightful inside greetings. I used the Dotted Ray Stencil to create a ray of rainbow dots. It turned out so fun and it was pretty easy. 🙂

For the background, I just strategically used the Hey There Sunshine  stencil to create a full array of rays. Does that even make sense? Ha! 🙂

And how about a Mini Slim card? This one turned out fun with a bit of a retro vibe. The stencil blocking is super quick and sooooooo easy to do, but what a cool effect it creates–right? Gah–soooo fun!

I went back and added some stitching to all the letters afterwards. Once I started that, I had to do them all. Haaaaa! Took a little bit of time, but it’s a fairly safe gamble with all block letters that are straight. But I still hold my breath, since basically the card is done before I add the stitching. 🙂

It might have ended up to be one of my favorite cards of the bunch.

I thought I’d mix it up a bit with a HEY HEY HEY card– and worked out swimmingly. Basically, I stamped the Hey part and then did this totally 80’s color combo with the stencil. Adding these black strips helps conceal the die cut edge below. You can trim that down pretty straight and tight, but this little strip made it more of a clean look.

This makes me want to get out my hair crimper and my leg warmers. ❤

Lastly, I’m sharing a card that I’m still not sure I like–haaaaa! I think its because the pen lines aren’t super duper straight. They aren’t meant to be of course, but it goes against the clean hard line vibes of the set.

However, I do love that sentiment of a big squeeze! 🙂

I think this new kit would be fabulous to take along somewhere if you want to craft on the go! A couple of blender brushes, a few ink cubes and BAM–you’re in business! 🙂 Just don’t forget your address book.

Taylored Expressions: Field Notes Kit Release!

Happy Tuesday! Today, we are having some nature fun celebrating the Field Notes Kit Release from Taylored Expressions! This kit is available over at Taylored Expressions NOW, August 11th!

The Floral set, Sketchbook Florals, is designed by the super talented Lori Craig and I am so excited for her!! These stamps are lovely Sketchbook Florals and the size of each is very manageable to create sweet cards or projects with. The sketchbook theme is evident in the design of these stamps and they evoke nothing by lovely, calming thoughts in my mind. 🙂

Let’s hop right into a card, shall we? This first one is one of my favorites. I can’t decide why, but I think it has a very soothing affect.

I used the Square Masking stencils and more masking to create this one. I stamped the flowers on the card, as well as on some masking papers to use. This card is  created in a simple layering system and it goes very smoothly. 🙂

With detailed floral images, I find it is often easy and welcoming to leave the rest of the card simple. I think I may need to go back and make a few more of this one. 🙂

Next up, I spent a good deal of time using  some TE Watercolors. Pretty sure I still have quite a stash of flowers on hand. ❤

The background stamp in this kit is called Rough Draft Background and its truly an instant fave for me! I’m probably going to have to hide it from myself so I don’t use it on all my cards. 🙂

I used the TE Masking stencils-Rectangles and did some blending and stamping inside that  space with Granny Smith and Sweet Basil before removing it. It creates a crisp mask EVERY time! ❤

I watercolored this flower with the TE Watercolors and added some TE Shimmer to the mix to create a little sparkle. Of course, you have to take my word for it, because this photo will not capture that. 🙂

The little tag in the kit is perfection to tie on with a little twine. 🙂 Paired up with the envelopes in the kit and stickers, and boom, mail a card to someone you love.

Next up, I have another one I watercolored simply with the TE watercolors. This might be my fave from the dozen or so I watercolored. 🙂

I created a simple background using the TE Blender Blushes and the Frayed Edge Stencil on a wonk. This is another fave card from this release. I am laughing because it is mostly Lavender Glaze, and generally speaking, lavender is not a fave of mine. But I do quite enjoy this lovely shade TE  shade and is so fitting for this series of cards: Perfection!

What a lovely sentiment, and I paired it with this sweet little date stamp also in the kit. I can’t wait to send this and commemorate August 2020 for a friend! ❤

Next up, I wanted to try and use a flower with just a little tad of Copic color to add just a hint of yellow. Paired once again with the Rough Draft Background in B&W, I enjoy this fun and different look.

I die cut the circle background with the Stitched Circles before finishing it all off with some stitching and the Clear TE Bits–which I cannot get enough of!

Here is another card using a TE Masking Square Window Stencil. A little ink blending with the TE Blender Brushes and then the stamping of this lovely detailed Floral from the kit: Voila! I just love a clean and simple card. ❤

I cut out the panel with the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and add a little stitching to finish it all off.

Next up, I like to call this one my dried very special flower. 😉 ! I am not entirely sure how I feel about this flower being Toffee, but I must tell you, it does look better in person. I added a lot of TE Shimmer to this flower and it has that soft sparkle in person that sort of makes this card, if you will. 🙂

Either way, like or dislike, I am sharing because I do enjoy this background created with the TE Hexagon Masking Stencil and the the little dot stamp in the kit. This little dot stamp is the bees knees and it is one of those stamps you find yourself using often to just add a little something to a background so simply. It creates a lovely backdrop for these floral images!

The panel is created with the Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets….ALWAYS a go to! 🙂

Are you tired of cards yet? Can we ever be? 🙂

Lastly, I thought it would fun to try and layer this Frayed Edge Masking stencil in different colors to create a background. In doing that, I wanted to be sure the flower still stood out on its own. Once again, I went with keeping the flower B&W, with the goal for it to stand out. It’s sort of counter intuitive, if you ask me, but I think it works. 🙂

If there was ever a set this B&W technique works, it is this detailed Sketchbook Florals set by Lori.

I created a little different composition with this layout and then added a few TE Drip Drops to this one with some stitching to finish it all off.
