Taylored Expressions meets Laurie Willison!

Oh happiest of crafty days today to finally share this AWESOMENESS!!! My friend, Laurie Willison thought up this fantastic and oh so handy new set of stencils and they are available now from Taylored Expressions! I’ve waited so long to say this, so I will say it again: These stencils are available over at Taylored Expressions now! ๐Ÿ˜Š

My first card today uses one of the new circle stencils in a different way than I’ve mostly used them for. And let me tell you how quick this is! Imagine the possibilities! Gah!!

I recommend spraying the stencils with Thermoweb’s Pixie Spray for quick and easy up stick to your cardstock. (You can also simple secure with Purple Tape.) I then just wipe the stencil clean with a dry cloth between blending on colors and it goes really swiftly!

I love the simplicity of these stencils and the ease of them. Rainbow action for the win! ๐Ÿ™‚ I used a sentiment from the Handlettered Sentiments and coordinating dies. Those are a fave set!

Next up, an example of what I pretty muchย  use these awesome stencils for all the time–masking off a frame on my card fronts. I have always used a t-ruler, pencil and post-it tape/notes. Yes, this method is still just fine. But NOW, soooo quick and easy with these stencils. PLUS, I don’t have to erase pencil lines–and risk smearing inks. AND I don’t get pencil lines trapped under ink! Hooray!!

Of course, I had to use theย  Set the Scene Clouds with these stencils. For a full stencil, I put the stencil on the bottom and the masking stencil over top. But because these clouds are in strips and you have to move them, I did the masking stencil on the bottom and the clouds on top. Naturally, Big Grumpy had to make another appearance with his little sign of too peopley! Which just makes me laugh every time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love that you can create this layered look in one layer, if you wanted to! These stencils are an essential cardmaking staple in my mind! ๐Ÿ™‚ Way to go, LDubs!! โค I’m excited for Laurie and Taylored Expressions that this all came together! ๐Ÿ™‚

The stencils have etched lines to show where to put your card panel or card base. One outline is for a full A2 card and the other is for a “typical” card front panel (matte, if you will), 4 x 5.25.

Here’s a little tip: You can rub in a little acrylic paint into the grooves and it make the lines more evident without interfering with the use of the stencil in anyway. And the paint stays on there. I used white, but you could use any bright color you want to create contrast.

Taylored Expressions: October Release!

Welcome to Release Day for Taylored Expressions October Release! All the new products are available over at Taylored Expressions now! Hooray!

My first card today is one of my definite favorite cards of this release. Which makes me laugh because in the end, it is so simple! But I โค that! This features the new Fluffy Friends stamp set. How cute is this little critter? And his friends in the set: Gah!!  ๐Ÿ™‚

I simply stamped, colored with Copics and die cut him out. Adding him to an embossed panel with embossed sentiment and stitching. The sentiment is from the new Fluffy FriendsHoliday too!

Just so cute! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up, I have my favorite iconic “thing” for the holidays: Christmas Lights! This background stamp is called Bright Lights Background. This includes a new sentient from the Handlettered Holiday 2 set and coordinating die. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is awesome because you don’t color in the lights (Unless you want to, of course.) You just stamp the little stamp fillers in to fill the lights from your ink pads! SOOO fast! I added a little darker ink on the sides after for effect.  ๐Ÿ™‚

And this sentiment rocks from the Handlettered Christmas 2 set, all die cut out!

Taylored Expressions Release Week! Day 1

Hey hey! It’s time to start sneaking for Taylored Expressions new October Release?!ย  And it’s all about Holidays!

This first card features the new Jolly Holly Background, Pine Clippings, and Handlettered Holiday 2 Sentiments & Dies. Goodness–How fun is this background?! And the best part: Lightening fast! Don’t get me wrong, I can spend a couple hours on a card, but when you get super fun results fast, it’s just magic!

I added a few layers of ink here to get a sort of resist effect. I stamped it with both Sea Salt and Sugar Cube and then added the greens and reds on top with the little stamps that come along with the background to fill it in! So fun to do!

Next up, I was able to use this awesome new stencil called Modern Holly Layering Stencil. This stencil is magical to use–I just love the effect!ย

There are three layers to this stencil and you can super easily line them up with the guides on the side, producing sweet results very easily! I would also recommend Pixie Spray if you haven’t used it. It is a light tack that holds the stencil down, just enough to keep it in place while you blend, but not enough to leave a residue on your project. It cleans off your stencil easily or you can leave it on like I do for the next project. It is amazing stuff!

Think of all the color combos you could layer up with this!? I just loved this one so, so I went with the traditional sort of colors.

I thought it would be cool to have a teacher holiday card–I never have time or the energy to getting those made on time! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m looking forward to giving this one to my son’s teacher at Christmas!

Of course, I used the Petite Scalloped dies for both of these too!I Pretty much always use those, don’t I? Ha! โค them! ๐Ÿ™‚

Taylored Expressions is Celebrating 11!

Happiest of craftastic Birthdays to Taylored Expressions –TE is celebrating 11 years! And lucky us, we get to party! ๐Ÿ™‚

This first card features the new Big Grumpy Stamp & Die Combo, Big Grumpy โ€“ Birthday and Big Cake. This bear speaks my language! ๐Ÿ™‚ The sentiments in this set are SO FUN!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Isn’t he soooo funny with his grumpy little face and this sentiment—TOO fun! The background with the candles from Big Cake is a perfect accent the “bonfire” feel. haaaaa!

He looks all innocent on this pink card–I find that a laugh in itself.ย  ๐Ÿ˜‰

Next up, I have a fun new card using the Party Pennants Background and Simple Strips – Birthday.ย

If you are unfamiliar with the Simple Strips Background, I highly recommend checking them out because they are ingenious and awesome. And this one works with the original die. This is the new one, Simple Strips – Birthday.

I also used the new die, Caps Lock โ€“ YAY, which is right up my alley–because I love this simple block font. I colored the background with Copics and added some stitching for a fun little touch. ๐Ÿ™‚ A shout out to my sewing machine for being good and not messing up my cards on the last step. I mean, it has happened, but I am guessing it is generally a user error? Maybe? Wink.

I used the Petite Scalloped dies for both of these too! ๐Ÿ™‚

Be sure to check out all the goodness the Creative Team has made to celebrate TE’s 11 years!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Taylored Expressions: August Release!

Welcome to Release Day forย Taylored Expressions August Release! All the new products for August are available over at Taylored Expressions now! Oh happy day!

My first card today features the NEW Sweet and Spooky stamp set. How cute spooky are these little critters? eeeep in a dark forest! ๐Ÿ™‚

I thought it would be fun for them to hang from a tree, and I think it creates a fun scene. That first little critter on the far left is a trip! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up, I shift directions and tried out the new Handlettered Alpha set! It’s a clear photopolymer set, which makes lining up these stamps fantastically easy. The red rubber stamps are awesome for stamp quality, but having this alpha set in red rubber might be tricky? ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love alpha sets because you can write anything you want! I thought it would be fun to stamp these not only in black which creates a natural elegant flow, but in colors for fun and pep! ๐Ÿ™‚

These stamp super quick once you get the hang of it! Imagine the envelopes you can make!! Well, I know what I’m doing soon! ha! ๐Ÿ™‚

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks! Day 1

Hello! Are you ready for Taylored Expressions new August Release?!ย  Let’s get this party started!

This first card features the new Foliage Background, Shiplap Background, and Handlettered Sentiments & Dies. When I first saw this background, I thought it was lovely, but after I stamped it, it jumped to a favorite! โค I used two different greens and added a little flower from the new Fresh Picked Florals.

These sentiments though: โค โค โค –and the fact that you can die cut them out and add them to a card like this–just awesome! ๐Ÿ™‚ For the Shiplap Background, I lightened the gray ink by stamping off once before stamping on my cardstock. It worked perfectly to create a slight backdrop here.

Gah! Just love how this turned out in the end. Anyone else ever surprised after you finish something? ha!! ๐Ÿ™‚ (I’m just going to tell you now, you NEED the Shiplap Background.ย  ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Next up, I have another lovely floral card using the new Fresh Picked Florals.ย

Honestly, I am not typically a floral person, but good gracious! These are lovely how they layer aren’t they?! Just love how this ink color combo turned out too! Bright and fresh!ย  AND I used purple! whooooop!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The little banner at the top is from the new Simply Smitten set. It worked perfectly for this card along with another sentiment from the new Handlettered Sentiments and dies! I’m a big fan! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the Petite Scalloped dies for both of these too! ๐Ÿ™‚

Taylored Expressions: June Release!

Welcome to Release Day forย Taylored Expressions June Release! All the new products for June are available over at Taylored Expressions now! Yay!

My first card today features the NEW Cutting Edge Crafty stamp set. This is likely my most favorite card from this release, because this is sooooo true! haaaaa!! ๐Ÿ™‚

This is practically a spitting image of me, but with slightly smaller ears. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I colored everything with Copic Markers before layering it all onto a card panel I used the stencil to blend on some ink. (I even had to add the labels to the little ink pads! Too fun! )

Next up, is another card, perfect for sending to a creative friend!

Craftiness is Happiness! โค

I stamped all these little icons from the new set, Craftiness is Happiness. Just perfect for making crafty friends cards. And it’s slightly different from most of Taylored Expressions stamps, in that it is a clear photopolymer set and it’s part of the Clearly Crafty line of TE goodies!
