MFT Summer School: Asymmetry

MFT_SummerSchool3_MFTTVMy Favorite Things: Summer School Session Three rolls on! Day 2.

Symmetry balanced proportions and Asymmetry The placement of non-identical forms to either side of a balancing point in a way that the two sides seem to be of the same visual weight but aren’t.

You want to pop over to the MFT Blog to be schooled. These lessons are well put together by Susan. πŸ™‚

Here’s my take on the lesson: Asymmetry.

hawkins_jill_lean on me_wmI’m all about symmetry in architecture. But there’s something about card making that makes it fun to rebel. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_lean on me_00Hope you can check out all the fun on the My Favorite Things blog this week. The design teams have surely made plenty of cards to see and link to! A plethora of Inspiration!

hawkins_jill_i love you_wmThis takes more time than I always think. It is run through the die cutter many times. But oh so fun in the end! If you like that sorta thing πŸ˜‰

MFT Sketch #227

photoSketch Challenge #227 on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog is kicking off today! It’s possible there could be many new MFT products used by the dynamite team…just sayin’. πŸ™‚

Here’s my card for the week. I may or may not have a slight obsession with the MFT Blueprints. πŸ˜‰ LOL! This is a lot of the new one: Blueprints #25!hawkins_jill_You're Darn Great_00_wmI don’t have the Fishtail Flags STAX, so I just had to elongate the Die-namics Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX with a little die cutting magic. Works fabulously. Literally stretching your dies! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_You're Darn Great_wmHere’s the sketch πŸ™‚MFT_WSC_227I made a second card based on this Sketch #227:

hawkins_jill_hello blooms_00_wmI don’t typically excel at using flower anything, but I have to say I was sooooo absolutely thrilled when I received these! THESE Build-able Blooms are SO up my alley–builder flowers that are on the potentially whimsical/funky side–I can’t wait to use them more! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_hello blooms_wmMy first card is made with the following supplies at My Favorite Things:

Somebunny…

Just thought I’d pop in to post a cute little critter today! These new MFT bunnies are adorable!! Check them out here if you MUST have…just sayin’… πŸ™‚ (and the dies…wink wink)

HAWKINS_JILL_somebunny_WMHAWKINS_JILL_somebunny_00_WMI cut the Smooth White card stock into strips, to add a little interested before die cutting it into a tag. The blending card is a bit different texture and color, so if I had to do it again, I might use all blending card for the tag…but that’s ok…I’m probably the only person who would notice! HA! The cute little bunny will still make someone smile! πŸ™‚

You can check out the bunny card I made earlier this week HERE. πŸ™‚

This card is made with the following supplies by My Favorite Things: BB Some Bunny (stamps), Die-namics BB Some Bunny, Die-namics Stitched Trad Tag STAX (dies), Smooth White, Blending Card, Kraft, Pure Plum (Card Stock), Pure plum (dye ink), Sweet Tooth (Pigment ink), Black Licorice (Hybrid ink), MIX-ables Sheer Sparkle Glitter Glaze. Love that little sparkle! πŸ™‚
