MFT Sketch #251 + Tag

photoMFT Sketch Challenge #251 begins today on the My Favorite Things Challenge & InspirationΒ Blog!

This week’s sketch:MFT_WSC_251Here is my take this week:

hawkins_jill_merry_wmI used watercolors on the background here and then used watercolors some more. This one is growing on me a little. I generally like things simpler, less busy. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_merry_00_wmI didn’t get to make a second card for this Sketch. But I did make a fun tag for a little friend’s birthday party last week. So I’ll share that πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_wish big_wmI don’t think the sequin’s glue was dry when I took this photo, but the rain was coming and it was getting dark out! Must have natural light! Haaaa! πŸ™‚ Anywho, I wrote the little girl’s name in the blank space, tied it on the kraft bag, and voila! πŸ™‚

MFT Sketch #239

photoMFT Sketch Challenge #239 on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration is starting TODAY!

Here is this week’s sketch:MFT_WSC_239This is my card for the week:

hawkins_jill_hope your day_00_wmI so enjoy this little sunny dude! πŸ™‚ The Abstract stencil and background…well, I’ve mentioned my adoration of these many-a-times too! I stamped and embossed the Build-able Blooms for the sun. It ended up a little more subtle than intended, but, alas πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_hope your day_wmI squeaked in a second card. This one was made in probably five different sit-downs, so it feels a bit disjointed. But, meh, I think it’s kinda fun still πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_don't know_wm…and I think my stitching went a bit awry πŸ™‚

MFT Sketch #237 AND Summer School!

photoMFT Sketch Challenge #237 on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration is starting today. In July here, we have Kalyn Kepner with us! Whoot!

Here is this week’s sketch:
MFT_WSC_237:This is my card for the week:

hawkins_jill_make a wish_wmI cannot get enough Abstraction! πŸ™‚ Now it is in stamp and stencil form! LOVE.

hawkins_jill_make a wish_00_wmI used watercolors to paint the whole panel. It probably would have gone faster if I had done a couple triangles at once with the same color. But no. Did one. At. A. Time. It isn’t perfect, but I don’t think watercolor should be? I like things crisp, so this was good to do something different.

Bonus: Today is the 3rd day of MFT Summer School!

PrintBe sure to head over to the MFT Blog to read the lesson and link up to the other cards the MFT design team made. πŸ™‚

MFT Summer School: Gallon/Quart/Pint

PrintToday starts another fun week on the MFT Blog! MFT Summer School: Session TWO! Oh yes! πŸ™‚

Today’s lesson:

PrintThe ol’ Gallon/Quart/Pint trick…You use a lot of one color, a little of the next, and even less of the next. Such fun! I could do these little lessons all day. I think I always say that, but it’s true! πŸ™‚

Anywho, on with my card:

hawkins_jill_miss you_wmMy card here sort of takes the gallon to the extreme and the others to the brink, but you get the picture. I have been trying to stamp more, and kept this one simple. I tend to die cut, so I like to be sure I mix it up here and there πŸ™‚ Watercolor: The untamed medium.

You’ll definitely want to hop over to the MFT Blog to see everything that Susan wrote up today. That’s where the real schooling comes in πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_miss you_00_wmHope you can check out all the surely fun projects. I can’t wait!! πŸ™‚ The My Favorite Things blog is sure to have lots of good stuff this week.
