A Hug in the Shaker…

PrintToday on the My Favorite Things Blog is the Final Day of SHAKER CARDS!! Confetti everywhere this week!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Today’s idea was to show the inside of the card…a Peek-a-boo, if you will. I ended up making the inside basically “the card”. It’s funny how things happen. ๐Ÿ˜‰hawkins_jill_can't wait shake_wm hawkins_jill_can't wait shake_00_wmThe scalloped circle is actually from the Die-namics LLD Cupcake Stand set and works fabulously as a centerpiece, don’t you think? ๐Ÿ™‚ The tricky part on this one was hiding the foam. I didn’t completely excel on that task, but didn’t want to toss it either. Once again, a “handmade” card right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

This card is made with the following supplies at My Favorite Things: Die-namics LLD Cupcake Stand, Die-namics Stitched Circle STAX, Photo Booth, In & Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle STAX (dies), BG Diagonal Lines Background, CS True Friends (stamps), Black Licorice (hybrid ink), Steel Grey (dye ink), Bubble Gum, Steel Grey, Ripe Raspberry (card stock). ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you too have enjoyed the shaker fun this week!! There are PRIZES each day! ๐Ÿ˜‰

HERE is my Shaker Thank You card from yesterday. HERE is my Shaker post (AND Sketch!) from Wednesday. HERE is my Shaker card from Tuesday. There is also a link there to a few other Shaker Cards I’ve made ๐Ÿ˜‰

Today’s theme was to use a word die and shake it up! So I did ๐Ÿ™‚

hawkins_jill_thank you shake_wmConfession: I love all things sprinkles. It’s borderline ridiculous ;). But why not add them to a card!? It’s like the perfect storm of goodness. ๐Ÿ™‚

MFT Sketch #224 AND Shaker!

photoSketch Challenge #224 TODAY on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog!! Sure to be rockin’ cards by my teammates! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s a peek at my card this week: Die-namics Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX. Oh yea! ๐Ÿ™‚hawkins_jill_sketch224_00_wmI used the Die-namics Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX repeatedly to get that one banner. It came together so well. LOVE that! Go check it and all the other fabulousness from the DT on the MFT Card Challenges blog today!

Here’s the sketch ๐Ÿ™‚

MFT_WSC_224Also this week, the MFT Stamps Blog is all about Shakers!!PrintHere’s one for today!hawkins_jill_sending happy_wmI recommend static treating all parts of your shaker card before you put the goodies inside. I did that here, but as you can see, some still sticks wacky. But hey, that’s the nature of the card. They are meant to shake, so a still shot is never quite as enjoyable as a good SHAKE!! Ha!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ The MFT Blueprints #24 has sequin die cuts, so that is what I used here. The possibilities are endless to make shaker cards. ๐Ÿ™‚

Gonna shake…

PrintToday on the My Favorite Things Blog is Day 2 of SHAKER CARDS!! Whoot! Love me a good shaker! Yesterday’s MFT blog post was fun, and I can’t wait to hop around today.
Here’s my take on a “flat” type shaker card. Right up my alley with my trusty sewing machine. I couldn’t get the Donut idea out of my head, so I just went for it. Sort of a simple card, but that little detail adds a fun touch I think. ๐Ÿ™‚

hawkins_jill_donut know shake_00_wmThis is also a great way to show how the MFT dye inks can do second generation stamping to get a whole different gradient! I only used two gray ink pads. Hooray!

hawkins_jill_donut know shake_wmThis card is made with the following supplies at My Favorite Things: Die-namics LLD Donuts, Die-namics Polka Dot Cover-Up (dies), LLD Donuts and Sprinkles (stamps), Grout Gray, Steel Blue (dye ink), Grout Gray, Smooth White (card stock), Vellum, Embossing pad. ๐Ÿ™‚

Join in the shaker fun!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

MFT Sketch #216…

photoSketch Challenge #216 starts today on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog!

Here’s a peek at my card this week: (This is an odd color combo for me, but a challenge to try new things? Hooray!)

HAWKINS_JILL_SKETCH216_00_wmThe Ride the Wave dies are fabulous! I mean, I can’t stop using them…and the Donuts! I decided I need more wave dies, that would fit comfy cozy on the top and bottom of these waves… hmmmm?…*wink wink*… ๐Ÿ™‚ teehee ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here’s the sketch ๐Ÿ™‚ MFT_WSC_216Naturally, I had to make another card with a totally different take. Sure, the wave dies are a perfect fit for this sketch…but if you don’t have the waves, what do you do? Get creative!ย  I did that here:
HAWKINS_JILL_sketch216_1_WMI rotated the sketch, and then cut the card stock in three pieces to create that “dividing” element. I wanted to emphasize it, so I then scored the card stock. I used the Peep shaker element as the “circle”. In my mind, the circle just represents an element and it can be whatever! Be crazy! ๐Ÿ™‚ Go literal, go loose…but just GO make something & join in! ๐Ÿ™‚HAWKINS_JILL_sketch216_00_1_WMI have a major love of Peeps (the bunny versions seen here), so I had to purchase this die set for just the little bunny Peep. I may have a problem ๐Ÿ˜‰

This card is made with the following supplies by My Favorite Things: In & Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle STAX,ย In & Out Diagonal Stitched Square STAX, Die-namics Candy Jar (dies), CS Candy Jar Companion (stamps), Orange Fizz, Night Shift, Summer Splash, Kraft (Card Stock), Vellum,ย Steel Grey & Black Licorice (dye inks) ๐Ÿ™‚
