Wheatfield Dreams from Taylored Expressions

Today, there is a NEW Kit available over atย  Taylored Expressions! The Wheatfield Dreams kit is designed by my friend Lori Craig and it is as delightful as her previous two kits: Field Notes and Field Notes 2. This one is a nod to Lori’s home state of Kansas and it is a delight!

I started out getting super crafty with all the watercolor colors. I first embossed the new wheat stamp and then added a bunch of watercolors and blended around. I used the new Honey and Mulled Wine watercolor.

This kit has lovely sentiments in it too. I stamped this one on a small piece of torn vellum and heat embossed it before stitching it on to finish off the card.

I finished it up by die cutting with the Petite Scallop Rectangle stacklet, naturally. ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up, I thought it would be a fun twist to do a rainbow color wave with the Burlap Background in the kitย and some partial die cutting.

I used the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and layered this up to match. Now, I’m thinking I might have liked to layer it up with foam tape. Next time maybe. ๐Ÿ™‚

I added some score lines to the card base and kept the rest fairly simple. I finished off both of these with some twine and some stitching, which I find fitting for this kit.

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions. Hooray!

Here’s the TE scoop:

Hereโ€™s everything included in the Wheatfield Dreams Kit โ€“ which is available for $69:

  • Wheatfield Dreams stamp set
  • Wheatfield Dreams die collection

Abstract Kit from Taylored Expressions

Today, there is a NEW Kit available over atย  Taylored Expressions! It’s call the Abstract Kit and it has endless possibilities! There are so many different ideas and color combos I can think of with these stencils alone. Gah! ๐Ÿ™‚

I started out using the stencils mostly with different color inks. I chose a more Fall inspired palette, mostly because I was all about the autumn colors when I made these.

I used the Frame in Frame 2 die and a combo of the stencils with the stamps to create little piles in the corners.

I love cards like these because I feel like there are endless possibilities to colors and configurations with these. This makes them fun to mass produce and super for making and gifting card sets!

The stamps are fun to add on top of each other or just as little bits here and there. These are so simple but yet they were so fun to design.

AND for the record, I used Avocado ink… and I’m not sure I have ever used Avocado before? Is that possible? ha! ๐Ÿ™‚

I finished off both of these with some twine and some stitching. โค

I also wanted to use the Subtle Sprigs die set ย additional die cuts, Branch Out die set, you can add on to your kit.

For this cardย  AND the next, I also branched out (wink wink) and used the Dijon cardstock! Again, have I used this before? I really stretched my color windows for this kit. ๐Ÿ™‚

I die cut from both the Dijon and the Sweet Potato Pie, piecing everything back in again. For the backgrounds on both my cards, I used the Shiplap Background stamped with Mushroom.

The Shiplap Background is in that must-have category for me. So versatile! I also used Plum Punch! Seriously, who am I? I clear embossed the sentiment on Vellum to make them stand out a wee bit more

And once again, I finished these off with some twine and stitching. ๐Ÿ™‚

This kit is easily one of my faves. I know I probably say that often, but thinking about using all these graphic stamps and stencils on my other projects so easily, makes my little crafty heart sing. ๐Ÿ™‚

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions.

Here’s the TE scoop:

Hereโ€™s everything included in the In the Abstract Kit โ€“ which is available for $72:

Merry Blooms Kit from Taylored Expressions–Merry Merry!

Today, there is a NEW Kit available over atย  Taylored Expressions and it is VERY Merry! And very Bloomy. Is that a word? It is now. ๐Ÿ˜„! This kit is the perfect scenario if you just want to create a good stack of cards and get ahead for your holiday card mailings. It’s all there for you, you just need ink! ๐Ÿ™‚

I decided to try out a couple different things with my cards here today.

First up, let’s talk about this card, because I think it might very well be my favorite! ๐Ÿ™‚ It is so different from anything I have made and honestly, I’m not entirely sure how it happened. ha!

For these flowers, I used the following ink colors, blended on with TE Blending Brushes: Sea Salt, Salt Water Taffy, Confetti Cake, Potato Chip and Mushroom. I started first with the Sea Salt adding that down to create kind of a base and a good white shadow, if you will. On top of that I went very lightly with the other colors. I have seen blue poinsettias, but I am not entirely sure about them, so I gave these a white with a tinge of blue hue.

I used the stamps in the Merry Blooms Clear Stamp set to add all the details to the individual pieces. For the leaves, I inked the background stamp with a bunch of different greens and even some yellow.

The sentiment is from the Clearly Crafty Joyful Season stamp set and then I used the coordinating dies (which need to be purchased separately from the kit) to die cut it out before adhering with a couple layers of cardstock underneath.

I added this vellum frame using the Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets and the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. I am digging how this turned out. It is not only full of holiday cheer, but it also says winter to me–cozy winter! The good kind of winter. ๐Ÿ™‚

I finish everything off with some stitching and Clear Drip Drops.

Next up, I made a few tags using the Pierced Tag Stacklets and added one to the TE Clear Treat Boxes. For these I went to more of a traditional holiday red, using lots of different TE Reds and pinks. I even used Mulled Wine, which I admittedly do not use too often, so that’s always fun for me!

I white heat embossed these little sentiments on some strips of Sweet Basil cardstock. Looking forward to using these tags at the holidays for sure!

On these tags and both of my cards, I also used the Spattered Background and white heat embossed that. I like how it gives it a snowy wintery look. I could use this background on most every card, I think. โค

Lastly, I have this card, using more of a Spearmint looking set of leaves. I also used Mint Julep. This green combo is delightful.

I added some Silver Glitter to the center of these Poinsettias. Again, I also used the Spatter Background with some Mushroom ink to add little extra bit of goodness. I used the Frame in Frame die to create this panel. I added a nest of silver thread behind the sentiment to tie into the silver glitter. So festive!

Of course, I love these envelope colors in this kit and the stickers. Always the stickers. But I’m going to need some more Dijon envelopes. How do I not have these already?

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions. Here’s the TE scoop:

Hereโ€™s everything included the Merry Blooms Kit โ€“ which is available for $69:

  • Merry Blooms Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set
  • Perfect Poinsettia die collection
  • Clearly Crafty Joyful Season stamp set
  • Bits & Pieces โ€“ Red Pearl & Gold Drip Drop Mix
  • 6 A2 Envelopes: Sugar Cube, Toffee, Cherry Pop, Mulled Wine, Djion, and Cilantro
  • Packaged in a zippered pouch with a custom kit label

Limited quantity available. Most items not available to purchase individually.

You will be able to purchase additional envelope packs, envelope seals, the new Bits & Pieces โ€“ Red Pearl Drip Drops, and the Joyful Season die collection separately.

PLEASE NOTE: The Joyful Season die collection (for the sentiments) is an add-on purchase that is available to purchase separately. It is not a part of the kit.

Taylored Expressions: Very Cherry Kit!

Today, there is a NEW Kit available over atย  Taylored Expressions. This one is moving into my top faves very quickly because it is not only sweet and delightful, but it is so easy to use and create lots of fun cards. And it seems my recent mission is to create a stack of cards all at once and have them ready to use, so this Very Cherry Kit is really helping me on that mission. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

First up, let’s talk Rainier Cherries. I LOVE to eat these little summer gems and have yet to have a single one yet this year. How is that possible? Well, anyway, I decided I would create them on a card instead.

I wasn’t entirely sure how to do this, so I just went for it using Potato Chip, Pinkย Champagne, and Guava on the cherries. I love how they turned out in the end. At first I was thinking the lines of ink were bugging me, but then I embraced it and now I want to recreate this effect. ha!

I wish I had stamped a few more of these at the same time. But I did create a few backgrounds, so I can fill them in easy enough someday soon! I used the overlapping sweet little heart stencil and blended on some Gumball ink. It was a risk because I wasn’t entirely sure I would like the blue hearts. Thank goodness I loved the result! Phew! ๐Ÿ™‚ I die cut that panel with the Frame in Frame 2 die (shocker, I know!). I die cut the Open Scalloped Circleย in Blueberry and then stamped the sentiment on Vellum to put that in the center. This card took a little more time than the following two, but I thought it was well worth it and plan to do it again…now that I’ve done the harder work to figure it all out. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Next up, I have these sweet little Thank You cards. I love the simplicity of these cherries and how you don’t need to add too much to make them shine.

I die cut the Petite Scallop Square Stacklets to create that panel before adding the Open Scalloped Circle die from the kit. I also added several scoring details to all these pieces to give a little texture on each piece of background.

I think these could be simplified even further if you wanted or I think even making them verbatim wasn’t that intensive. I have a pile of cherries stamped and ready to go on my desk, so I might just go ahead and make a few more of this design. ๐Ÿ™‚

To polish it all off, I added some stitching and Clear Drip Drops. Oh and the stickers!!! Ahhhhhh I always adore the stickers. I have quite a stash of them now, because I rarely send a card out without them. So now, I need to grab a few more of these sweet cherry stickers too! Especially for all my summer cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions. Here’s the TE ๐Ÿ’ scoop:

Hereโ€™s everything included the Very Cherry Kitโ€“ which is available for $65:

  • Very Cherry Cling & Clear Combo set
  • Very Cherry stencil
  • Clearly Crafty Cherry on Top stamp set
  • Cherry on Top die collection

  • 6 Custom Envelope Seals
  • 6 A2 Envelopes: 2 each of Cherry Pop, Strawberry Milkshake, and Peapod

Taylored Expressions: Butterfly Wishes + Buttoned Up Kids

Today, there are two fun new Kits available over atย  Taylored Expressions. There is the new Butterfly Wishes (which I LOVE) and the new Buttoned Up Kids Kit, which my son LOVED! We were both loving life here with these kits.

First up, there is the Butterfly Wishes kit which I cannot say how fun it is to use the stencils alone in the kits! ๐Ÿ™‚

And don’t even get me started on the stickers/seals!! But I digress…

Anywho–so as long as I was stenciling away, I thought it would be smart to make a few panels. Which turned into about six total, but I only finished four here. So first, you stamp the little butterfly bodies and antennae on your panel. This part of the kit is called: Butterflies Stamp & Stencil Combo.

On the white panels, I used Mushroom ink and on the Toffee panels I used Sugar Cube ink for their bodies and antennae. Then it is very easy to line up the butterfly wings to the bodies because the stencils are etched, creating an extra visual. The first layering stencil has either the top or bottom of the butterflies wings and then the second has the other half. So you can create different gradients or use different colors entirely on the different parts of the butterflies! This is quite fun because the endless possibilities and combos! Gah! โค

On the Toffee panels, I first laid down a layer of Sugar Cube before applying the color inks. This allows the color inks to sit atop the Sugar Cube and I think creates a more vibrant color ending.

I wasn’t super careful to line up my stencils overtop of it either, so you can see the Sugar Cube poking out there underneath, which I actually wanted. I might even offset it more next time! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love using a rainbow of colors to create these blends too! I used the Frame in Frame 2 dies to cut them all out.

AND there is a whole other stamp set, Clearly Crafty Butterfly Wishes stamp set, is meant to add even more detail to these cutie little butterflies. AND dies for the Butterflies: Butterflies die collection.ย I however, didn’t even use them on these cards and they are still delightful. Be sure to check out the rest of the Creative Team‘s projects to see how lovely projects are adding those detailed stamps.

The sentiments in the Clearly Crafty Sweet Sentiments set are all included in the kit as well. Perfect array for making card sets! I just heat embossed mine on vellum before stitching them on.

Next up, I have a fun little kit designed with kids in mind: Buttoned Up Kid’s Kit. My son, who is ten years old now (correction: ten and a HALF), doesn’t have the threshold that he used to with cardmaking. We’d spend several hours making things. Now, his attention span isn’t as long to hang with Mom. Ha! So this card kit is PERFECT for him!

He made these four cards quite quickly. If you have kiddos that have longevity, think of all the fun little details you can add to these as well! โค

His favorite part was putting the buttons on. The kit includes Glue Dots and that makes it super easy to adhere the buttons so they don’t go anywhere.ย  You just give the Glue Dots a good rub over and the friction/heat from your finger adheres the dot to the button’s surface well.

One can even put the buttons as the centers in the flowers, but my son decided that flowers don’t get buttons. haaaaa! ๐Ÿ™‚

This one above was his favorite and he brought it to his teacher the very next day! These are perfect for anyone, anytime. Teacher Appreciation, a Coach, a friend, a caregiver, Grandparents, etc. etc.! And there are plenty in the kit to make several cards!

He loves to use Mom’s Copic Markers! ๐Ÿ™‚

I think we both loved this kit because it makes it so easy to create these cards. We didn’t even need to be in my craft area to access a bunch of supplies, because everything we used was in the kit already (except the MISTI and the handful of markers he chose, of course.) I’m keeping the kit all together so we can just pull the whole thing out to create more when we need them.

Apparently, the more is more with regards to adding buttons…. add ALLLLLL the buttons! haaa! ๐Ÿ™‚

We might need to get some more cards to make! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m thinking this would make a sweet birthday gift for a little creative friend too. โค

Goodness, I adore this kit. Streamlines cardmaking for kids and encourages giving! And THESE STICKERS? YES, please! ๐Ÿ™‚

Such fun we had! The Kid’s Kit is so reasonably priced and all set to grab-n-go for kids to take with them! Be sure to grab the Hip Hip Hooray stamp set if you need that too–sold separately.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow Kit from Taylored Expressions

Hello and welcome to a SUPER FUN release celebration forย  Taylored Expressions! This new Somewhere Over the Rainbow Kit is available NOW over at Taylored Expressions TODAY, May 12 right HERE!!

This release is ALLLLLL about the Rainbows and sending some much needed to cheer in the mail…and do you see the envelope seals?! Gah!

Let’s get this party started! ๐Ÿ™‚ I have A LOT to share!

This first rainbow card is made with kit’s Masking Rainbow Stencils and my TE Blender Brushes. First, I blended on some Sugar Cube ink to give the dye inks a nice solid layer to blend on. It makes the finished product more vivid when you are using colored cardstock.

I also used the Frame in Frame 2 die to finish it all off. Eeeep! I sure โค this sentiment! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up, I have one of the simplest cards I made but one of my faves! The Rainbow Masking Stencils are super easy to use because there are two different stencils. The spacing makes it easy to not blend into the wrong arch. That little smiley is adorable!

The smile fits fantastically on the little clouds, but I thought maybe the Rainbow wanted to smile too. ๐Ÿ™‚

And then, we have the dies!!! Oh goodness–how FUN are these!? These sweet sentiments are the perfect font and so delightful for these cards. โค

For this card, I embossed theย  background with TE’s Cloudy Days Embossing folder and then inlaid the die cuts, added some stitching.

These clouds are the perfect finishing touch. There are two cloud dies in the kit. One is simple and the other has the little pierced dots on it. Both match each other and it’s great to have the two options.

While we are on the dies, how about a shaker card? This is too fun! I added the previous released Rainbow Sprinkles, Full of Heart and Sparkly Stars to make a mix. All that sparkly action allowed for me to keep the cardstock simple in Sugar Cube.

This is a fun one and very easy to make. I highly recommend using the TE Foam Strips. They are not only perfect for the Simple Strips sentiments, but they bend SUPER easy for shaker cards, making it much faster than using foam tape. ๐Ÿ™‚

I just love this little rainbow! โค

I have a couple cards I made on Toffee cardstock too! Who am I? I’m not sure, but I thought it would be fun to blend the Rainbow again with Sugar Cube ink first, giving the ink a *base* and then blended the dye inks over top a few there.

Mixed it up with the rainbow colors on this one too. For the little pattern stamps, I wanted a light gray, so I off stamped the Earl Grey ink and then stamped it on here so it wasn’t quite as dark/bold.

This is another fave sentiment in this kit. Well, who am I kidding, I actually โค them all! ha! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s another super super simple one on Toffee.

I wanted to have a variety of different cards. My plan is to circle back and make a pile to mail out. ๐Ÿ™‚

These all just make me happy! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lastly, I thought I’d REALLY mix it up and just use the pixelated rainbow stamp to create a multicolored background on cardstock.ย

Once that was done, I die cut a couple tags out and overlaid them with vellum before stitching them. The smaller one is cut out of the larger one, but you’d never know once I adhered it back in. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thought it would be fun to try something different with the kit. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, believe it or not, I think that is all I have in the way of cards to share today. I had A LOT of fun making these cards and the timing of this kit while being more at home these days made it all the better.

If you’re thinking of ordering this fun kit, I wouldn’t wait too too long. Quantities are limited, so hop to! ๐Ÿ™‚ You can find the kit in my supplies below or Somewhere Over the Rainbow Kit HERE.
