Taylored Expressions: Teacher and Grad Release!

One of the cards I make the most is Teacher cards and so for me, it’s a fun day atΒ  Taylored Expressions –there are lots of new goodies to celebrate all the Teachers and Grads in our lives! πŸ™‚

First up today, I am using the new Full Circle-School. I stamped it, heat embossed it and then I die cut it with one of my most used stacklets for such occasions: Apple Stacklets.

I decided this would be fun on a Mini Slim card and so I used both the Mini Slim Stitched Stacklets and the Mini Slim Petite Scallop Stacklets. I also stamped the Full Circle-School in tone-on-tone with Toffee ink on Toffee cardstock. I seem to use Toffee often on Teacher cards? I think that might be because I like it with the Red Pepper apple. πŸ™‚

I added a bit of twine to the stem after I blended on some green inks. I white heat embossed the sentiment on vellum and stitched that on the panel. Before I adhered everything to the card base, I decided to blend on some Sugar Cube ink to the Oreo top fold Mini Slim card. To finish it off, I used the new Cosmic Bits!

Next up, I thought I’d veer from a typical Teacher card color palette. I love how this turned out! I used the new I Pick You stamp and stencil.

I used Confetti Cake with the stencil and stamped the apples with Granny Smith, Cupcake and Toffee. I love these stamps that have the coordinating little dies for cutting out the little apples (or pumpkins, snowmen, etc. in the past). Pretty sure I definitely need to order another little apple die.

I thought this was a fun and a slightly different way to put on the sentiment. Of course, in true Jill style, I used the same sentiment on both cards today! πŸ˜‚ I don’t know how I do that, but I do it all the time. However, I promise there are lots of great sentiments in this set besides the one I used, twice! haaaa!

Oh and I stamped the Inside Scoop- Teacher on the inside and completely forgot to take a photo of that. Another thing I do all the time! πŸ™‚ Ack!

And BONUS TIME!! There is a NEW Big Grumpy Grad download to make some fun celebratory cards for Graduation and really, for anytime. There are a few sentiments that work for everyday congrats too, which I love!

I was laughing so heard when I read this one! πŸ™‚

I colored Big Grumpy-Bear with Copic Markers and then masked off this background area before using the Confetti Toss stencil and Stickles-Nebula paste. I love that Nebula paste because it has these cute little stars in it too! πŸ™‚

Next up, I thought it would be fun to use this sentiment. Also usuable for so many occasions. 🀣 Congrats you took out the trash! Here’s a card! I kid, but you know what I’m saying. I love this little bit of snark for everyday or for those Grads with the same silly sense of humor too. πŸ™‚

I made this background with the Masking Stencils-Stars (I used it and shifted it around a bit to use it again) and the Diagonal Stitched Square Stacklets. So fun! πŸ™‚

This sentiment is a trip. And if you haven’t used these Free Big Grumpy sentiments before, it is very easy to do. Check out the information for printing and stamping them over on the TE Blog and website.

I colored Big Grumpy on both with Copic Markers.Β  These two are some of my all time faves of my TE stash.

Thank you, Teachers! Congrats Grads!

Hiya! Today I am just popping in to share a few cards I made for some teachers and staff at school to wrap up the school year. What a year it ended up being…! Oh and also, I’m sharing a couple Grad cards! πŸ™‚

First up, I have these very simple but delightful cards I made using Taylored Expressions. The foil is the TE exclusive Rainbow Bright Deco foil. And the apples are the pre printed Apple of My Eye cardstock apples. Having these pre printed makes things go wicked fast! πŸ™‚ Love that. Just die cut them out after with the Apple Stacklets.

These cards are all very similar and I didn’t add anything beyond some score lines and stitching. But I like how they turned out. πŸ™‚

I also learned that I prefer foiling horizontally with the rainbow foil vs. vertically. I figure if I type that here, I might remember for next time. πŸ™‚

Lastly, I thought I’d share a cute little apple card that I made a few of, using some older Papertrey stamps my friend “long term loaned” me. πŸ˜‰

Again, kept them simple with some scoring and stitching, but I love the Muchas Gracias! πŸ™‚

The photos didn’t pick up the scoring too much, which kind of added the whole backdrop to the card. ha! Fortunately in person, they have that little extra somethin somethin. πŸ™‚

Next up, I have some Grad Cards! (and I remembered to stamp the envelopes!!) Hooray! The Taylored Expressions Boxed in Basics-Grad 2020 cards HERE are the key ingredient here! πŸ™‚

Everything else here is also Taylored Expressions: Banner Year Stamp and Die Combo and The Tassel (envelopes).

These turned out fun! I have one more to finish up. But I had to get these two in the mail. πŸ™‚

I used TE’s Rectangle Masking Stencil for the card base, inspired by Heather Nichols. She did this in a video, making a bundle of cards! You’ll have to check that out on the TE Blog. Loved this idea because the mask fits swimmingly! ❀

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy end of the School year to all the kiddos, teachers and staff out there. And HUGE Congrats to the many in the Class of 2020! What a ride!

Take care πŸ™‚

Taylored Expressions: Teacher and Grad Release!

Welcome to another great release celebration forΒ  Taylored Expressions!Β All the new products will be available over at Taylored Expressions tomorrow, April 28th.

This release is full of goodness to celebrate Teachers and Grads! This year, I think the Graduates need a little extra love. So many events and celebrations of their last year have been cancelled. I can’t imagine what that feels like. And the teachers–goodness, they have been thrown for so many big loops! SO–let’s shower them with goodness!

This first card is a rainbow of goodness to thank my son’s teacher this year.Β  I used the new Tag Team Teacher set. I completely adore this pencil… really, this whole set! It coordinates with the Tag Dies and oh how cute I can make a bunch of those QUICK!

I used a plethora of TE Inks and just made quick work of this rainbow action, careful to clean the stamp with the Stamper’s Spritz cleaner well between each color.

I can’t wait to stamp a bunch with the set! It’s a good one that’ll I’ll be using A LOT! ❀

Next up, I used the new Flip the Script-Grad, coupled with the new Inside Scoop Grad.Β  This little mortarboard works swimmingly with the cards in this release to create a stack of cards in a jiffy! I decided to use it on it’s own with the Masking Stripes stencil, just to mix it up a bit.

I used Blueberry ink with differently applied pressure using the TE Blender Brushes. It’s simple to create a gradient look if you just pay attention to what you’re doing. Sometimes if I am blending, and I get distracted, all the stripes end up basically the same tone. Ask me how I know… πŸ™‚ ha!

Here’s the inside of this card–the Inside Scoop Grad set has so many delightful sentiments of encouragement and inspiration! I just blended a little ink on the background there to give it a little something something. πŸ™‚

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks: Day 2

Welcome back to Day Two of Taylored Expressions April Release Week! If you missed my post yesterday sharing day one, I’ll link you up down below. πŸ™‚

This first card is might just be my favorite card from this release….because it reminds me of life. haaaa! This little chick is from the new Sarcastichicklets set. ❀

This card just makes me laugh!! Alllll those little chicklets screaming MOM!! πŸ™‚ For the grass, I just used my ol’ trusty fridge scissors and added a little spunk to them.

I used the Notepaper Background with Notepaper Border and the Clouds Stencil. I actually have to hide these products from myself, because I would use them on every card if I didn’t. ❀

Next up is another fave from this release! I make a lot of teacher cards, and this cutting plate called Alphabet Soup and stamp set called Apple of My Eye are just fantastic!!

I die cut the Alphabet Soup several times and glued them up in a stack to create caverns to add the shaker bits. I used some glitters and it made a fun and very substantial card! πŸ™‚

I stitched around the border of the die cut before adhering it to the whole stack. For the apple, I added some darker ink to the edges to give it a little somethin’ extra. Such a great teacher card!

Next up, I made this lovely card perfect for my son to give someone at school or a family member.

If you are not into coloring much, this stamp set is for you! It makes quick work filling in the flowers with the different fills. You can align them perfectly to fill the flowers, or slightly off, like I did here. I like the non exact look. My card base is scored here, which add some texture to it overall. But goodness, the winter light is just awful and I don’t know that it comes through in this photo?

Freshly Made Sketches Guest, #338 :)

Happy Wednesday to you! Once again, I’m over contributing with the Freshly Made Sketches crew! this week on a brand new sketch! Be sure to check out their great challenge blog HERE for lots of inspiration!

And here is this week’s sketch:

And here’s my card–perfect for a teacher! πŸ™‚

I die cut all the bits from different colored cardstocks and also from cork paper. Love that texture it gives to the pencil tip. πŸ™‚Β  I added some reverse scoring to the panel and finished it all off with some stitching. ❀

This pencil is a super favorite of mine from PaperSmooches, appropriately called Pencil Dies. The sentiment is from a retired stamp set (Bosom Buddy), but I think this Many Thanks set can be used as substitute very smoothly, with lots of choices!

Crafty hugs to the FMS team, who has been so kind to me this month! Thank you, Ladies! πŸ™‚

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Freshly Made Sketches–Week Two! :)

Hello again! Once again, I’m excited to be a Guest Designer on week two for the Freshly Made Sketches crew! You can check out their fun challenge blog HERE. Lots of great cards to oooh and ahhhh over!! πŸ™‚

And here is this week’s sketch:For this card, I blended on some Distress Oxide ink to Neenah Solar White cardstock and then stamped this Avery Elle image on top. I used this little pencil image to stamp repeatedly on the panel before stitching them all together to finish it off.

If I made this again, I think I’d try and find some simply patterned paper to use vs. the solid persimmon. But who knows! LOL! Either way, I thought this would be fun to give to someone this week, for sure!

I added a little twine to wrap it up (literally) and done! πŸ™‚ This is Avery Elle’s Little Minds stamp set (I believe this set is retired?) Still gets a great workout around here though–especially during Teacher Appreciation week!.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you’ll join the fun over at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

Take care– Jill πŸ™‚

Happy Thanks

Happy Tuesday, crafty peeps! Today I am popping in with a Teacher card! I can never make enough of these! This one is happy and FUN! It could easily be used for anyone though, and you can use the other Paper Smooches Fruit People to make a set! Hmmmm… thinking ahead there! πŸ™‚

I also used Paper Smooches’ Thanks So Much die and the Cross Stitch Die! I’ll have some actual cross stitch projects all together to share someday. πŸ™‚

Eeeeeeeep! So stinkin cute! I just die cut and dry embossed these elements, glued them down and added some stitching! Super easy. You could add some more detail by shading the fruit elements, but I kept it simple. πŸ™‚

You can check out all of the NEWΒ Paper SmoochesΒ AUGUST 2017 release HERE.

Have a great week! Thanks for stopping by!

I’m So Glad I Picked You!

Happy FRIDAY! What a week. Phew.

Today, I’m sharing this floraltastic card using the Garden Blooms dies and the Kindness Sampler! ❀

I laid up some strips of cardstock and then die cut the flowers. I then overlaid the flower outlines on top in white. Finally, I stamped the sentiment as the stem to the flowers, and added some leaves. Fun!

These flowers are awesome and so versatile! A perfect addition to the PS lineup! πŸ™‚

The new Paper Smooches June release can be found HERE! πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!  πŸ™‚

Cornucopia of projects! :)

Happy Wednesday!
I’m usually pretty good about posting all my projects on my blog, but this last month + has been a little crazier than normal. I always try to figure out if it’s just the new normal, or if it is just busier that usual. I’m hoping for the later this time! πŸ™‚
Anywho–here is a few cards/projects I have made recently that haven’t made it here yet. πŸ™‚
First up, this fun card using Paper Smooches Huge Hugs and dies AND Huge Hugs 2! This was for my son’s last day of school this year. πŸ™‚
I actually used my Scor-Tape as a stencil. It was sitting on my desk, so it worked out well! I just brushed some Distress Ink in there and then gave it a little water spritz for some texture. Fun!
The whale and fish are covered in Glossy Accents! Love that little addition. I think I may go through a whole bottle this month. LOL. πŸ™‚
Here are projects I created for teachers and staff at school this Spring:
Love how fun these are! I used Paper Smooches FruitasticΒ and the Thanks So Much Die. For the tags below, I used the Paper Smooches Pencil Dies and the Lovely Thoughts stamp set for the sentiment.
Here is a quick pick of some tags I stamped up for some crafty friends. Love this little bunny from Paper Smooches Pineapple Crush! (I didn’t think to take a more finessed photo, but I thought they are too cute not to share!)
These next cards use a combination of Paper Smooches Pineapple Crush stamps and Ellen Hutson’s Wonky Backdrops. Such fun!! πŸ™‚ (I also used the retired a Paper Smooches set for the sentiment, but this one is an excellent sub in, Many Thanks.)
This next card uses Winnie and Walter’sΒ  Framed and Our Town. Love how this turned out. I made it at a crafty retreat and I used someone’s stencil for the background too. But I didn’t write down the name of it. πŸ™‚
Next up, is this card I made using WPlus9 Feathers and Florals and Avery Elle’s Many Thanks. This floral set was sent to me from some crafty friends, and I’m so glad to have inked it up!! πŸ™‚ I’ve been using a lot of flowers lately!? Must be the season πŸ˜‰ .
And last but not least, here are some teacher cards I made last fall. These great teacher stamps are all from Lil’ Inker Designs. LOVE these so very much! πŸ™‚ Again, I borrowed these great products from some crafty friends. I only wished they all lived closer to create together more often. ❀
Alrighty! I hope you have enjoyed this mixed bag of projects I had yet to blog! I like to keep my blog up to date. It’s a great way to track my projects if I ever want to look back . πŸ™‚
Thank you for stopping by again today! πŸ™‚
Take care- Jill πŸ™‚

If you follow me on Instagram, you have likely seen these projects already πŸ˜‰ : jilldhawkins

Paper Smooches Fun!

I’m poppin’ in because the new Paper Smooches June release is available HERE! I was going to share my favorites from this release, but then the list just included everything, for one reason or another! Haaaa! So be sure to check it all out! πŸ™‚

I thought I’d share this fun card I made with the new Garden Greetings stamp set and dies. This set combines the sentiment and images, all in one! Super quick and easy for cards! πŸ™‚

I colored this “hi” with Copic makers and added some Glossy accents. I added it to the Tag Stitched Die that I die cut from patterned paper! (Yay me, using PP!)

I then busted out some old school corrugated paper and added the tags to a card. Kinda fun. Kinda retro, right? Haaa! πŸ™‚

While I’m here, thought I’d share these cards I made for my son’s teachers, as end of the year cards. I’m sure they need a summer break too, BIG time! So I ran with that theme. I’ll be sending these along with some summer goodies as a HUGE thank you for an awesome first year in Elementary School. Phew. I can’t believe it’s almost wrapped up! I will not cry. I will not cry. I’ll totally cry.Β  πŸ™‚

I used some Frosted Lace stickles to create an “icey” look. Kinda fun, but photographs like muck. haaaa! Better in person, thank goodness! πŸ˜‰

The little smiley is from the previously released Pineapple Crush set. ❀

I rubbed on some Persimmon Distress Ink to give the Popsicles a little touch, but it pretty much all soaked in to the paper. I have a knack for that too. πŸ˜‰

And of course, googley eyes! πŸ™‚

For this I used the Cool Treats dies. These are a staple! So so so fun! I also used the sparky Summer Sampler set! I just partially inked the sentiment stamps and stacked the words that way. It is probably MUCH easier to cut the stamp, but, I have issues. LOL!!

Getting in the summer grove!! Yay!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you Relax and Chill!Β  πŸ™‚

Jill πŸ™‚
