MFT Color Challenge #22!

MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_22Today starts Color Challenge #22 on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog. Head on over there and see what our wickedly talented team busted out this week!

MFTC&I Blog–sure to be FABulous!

Here’s my card for the week:

hawkins_jill_hello_cc_00_wmI double die cut the Jumbo Dot Cover Up after inlaying the first set of circles. When you do this, you can’t exactly tell where you are cutting because the die is solid, but it worked out. πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_hello_cc_wmPolka dots… love ’em! πŸ™‚

I made a second card with some left over dots. It’s been a week of “hmmm, that’s not quite what I was thinking it would look like…”. Too funny. It’s still fun to send a shaker, right?

hawkins_jill_happy cc_00_wmI popped up the black front panel in hopes that Sour Apple would show through the window a bit, but…not so much. Ha!! πŸ˜‰hawkins_jill_happy cc_wmIt’s already growing on me more though. πŸ™‚

MFT Sketch #216…

photoSketch Challenge #216 starts today on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog!

Here’s a peek at my card this week: (This is an odd color combo for me, but a challenge to try new things? Hooray!)

HAWKINS_JILL_SKETCH216_00_wmThe Ride the Wave dies are fabulous! I mean, I can’t stop using them…and the Donuts! I decided I need more wave dies, that would fit comfy cozy on the top and bottom of these waves… hmmmm?…*wink wink*… πŸ™‚ teehee πŸ˜‰

Here’s the sketch πŸ™‚ MFT_WSC_216Naturally, I had to make another card with a totally different take. Sure, the wave dies are a perfect fit for this sketch…but if you don’t have the waves, what do you do? Get creative!Β  I did that here:
HAWKINS_JILL_sketch216_1_WMI rotated the sketch, and then cut the card stock in three pieces to create that “dividing” element. I wanted to emphasize it, so I then scored the card stock. I used the Peep shaker element as the “circle”. In my mind, the circle just represents an element and it can be whatever! Be crazy! πŸ™‚ Go literal, go loose…but just GO make something & join in! πŸ™‚HAWKINS_JILL_sketch216_00_1_WMI have a major love of Peeps (the bunny versions seen here), so I had to purchase this die set for just the little bunny Peep. I may have a problem πŸ˜‰

This card is made with the following supplies by My Favorite Things: In & Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle STAX,Β In & Out Diagonal Stitched Square STAX, Die-namics Candy Jar (dies), CS Candy Jar Companion (stamps), Orange Fizz, Night Shift, Summer Splash, Kraft (Card Stock), Vellum,Β Steel Grey & Black Licorice (dye inks) πŸ™‚

MFT Sketch #213…Go!

photoNew Sketch challenge starts today on My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration blog!! Sketch #213! What’s up new Sketch!?

Inspiration and details await!! Try to join in this week if you haven’t! I can’t say it enough of how much everyone’s styles vary–it’s so fun to see. Plus Susan writes good stuff to describe each project…it’s a little publication every Wednesday!

Here’s a peek at my card this week: (hint: I love to die cut the die cut then die cut that die cut… )
hawkins_jill_sketch #213_00_WMHere’s the sketch πŸ™‚MFT_WSC_213Below is the extra card I made. It’s definitely one of those that looks better in person, but it’s still fun to share. I embossed the tag with the Arrows Abound stencil, and embossed the Poloroid cut out, but I didn’t capture it too well on camera. Meh, that’s ok. It’s a good card to give my hubbyΒ  πŸ˜‰hawkins_jill_sketch #213_2_WMHope you’ve found some inspiration to give the MFT Sketch Challenge a whirl this week! See you in the links there πŸ™‚ SO many rockin’ entries in the weeks past–phew! I love to see them all! πŸ™‚
