Eeeeps! Cutie little birds! I created a quick and simple Distress Ink watercolor back drop and when that dried, I stamped the birds in Versafine Black. I added some wonky stitches under their feet and sewed the watercolor panel onto the card front. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the simple typed font with the curly script words! Delightful! ๐Ÿ™‚

This little bird I stamped on three same size pieces of cardstock and pieced them together. I added  a couple black strips and some stitching and Voila! ๐Ÿ™‚ SMILE! I love these kind of cards and I love to mail them!

These little birdies have coordinating dies, and those can be found HERE. I don’t have them, but I think they would be fun to use to layer up these little birds in flocks! ๐Ÿ™‚

While I have you, I thought it would be fun to share a couple coffee cards I made with TT’s new October goodies!

I just love how simple this first card is and how it turned out! I wish I have made a few more at the time.  ๐Ÿ™‚ I just used Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment ink on black paper to stamp this awesome coffee cup from the NEW Perk Up Stamp set.

This sentiment is from the Sassy Coffee set! Oh my word–these Sassy sets that Teri Anderson creates keep me cracking up time after time. I just think they are all a riot and can be found HERE.

This next card uses the same Sassy Coffee set, but over and over. Because I feel like that just needs repeating. ๐Ÿ™‚

I stamped the cute smiley coffee cup from the same set. You know I love any inanimate object that smiles. ๐Ÿ™‚ Haaaa!

I hope you are able to carve some time out today and create. I’m likely to do mine late tonight when our son goes to bed. But that’s normal. ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a great weekend and be sure to check out the new stuff from Technique Tuesday HERE!  ๐Ÿ™‚ Including this new Chickadees 2.0 WCMD set!

Take care- Jill ๐Ÿ™‚

PrintHappy World Card Making DAY! I mean, this is OUR holiday card makers!! Love. It.

You are going to want to hop to the MFT Challenge and Inspiration Blog after you finish here because it is a FULL day over there. Seriously. Every two hours, there is a new post! Sounds to me like *card making inspiration* heaven! I can’t wait to see what my teammates made and Ms. SRO has written. Susan wrote NINE posts for TODAY. NINE! I can’t write that many in a week, let alone for one day. ๐Ÿ™‚ Seriously, an amazing group!

So, here is my card I made for this happy day:

hawkins_jill_merryandbright_WMI am naturally quite happy to use this new Snow Drifts Cover Up. I mean, wow. So many possibilities!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I then die cut the vellum strip to lay over two of the wave sections so I could heat emboss a sentiment (Joyous Christmas Sentiments). And I also used the new Snowflake Flurry stamps. I do love snow flakes. They can be used for MONTHS. And they will. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I stamped all the snowflakes on the pieces and blended the inks onto them.

New My Favorite Things release goodies! Oh this is a fun month at MFT my friends! :hawkins_jill_merryandbright_00_WM

Ok. Then I had to make two more cards for the occasion. ๐Ÿ˜‰

hawkins_jill_holly jolly_wmI heat embossed this sentiment, so in person, it stands out a bit more. Kept everything else simple.hawkins_jill_holly jolly_00_wmHere is the third card I made:

hawkins_jill_bright_wmPretty straightforward ๐Ÿ™‚ Die cut the die cut ๐Ÿ™‚

hawkins_jill_bright_00_wmAll of these cards will very likely have a stamped Thank You sentiment on the inside. You’ll want to read more about that on the MFTC&I post HERE! ๐Ÿ™‚

I thank you for hopping by here today! You must continue onward to the MFT Challenge and Inspiration blog because of all the AWESOME there today and also because of the PRIZES!!! Hello!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

This time slot’s prizes: LLD-47 Stay Cool stamp set AND MFT-783 Cool Cup Die-namics (LOVE THESE!)

WCMD: Winners (hip) Hop!

wcmd_blog hopJill-Dewey-Hawkins-Thanks-card_WCMD_winner2014_blog_badgeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! I just squeak all over again! I’m honored as a winner in the World Card Making Day contest! I’m certain there were dozens of awesome entries. I’m fortunate to be one of three winners in the “Thank You” category, along with Virginia and **Isha**(where you arrived from on this hop). Oh, the company I keep! ๐Ÿ™‚ The talent! Garsh. I’m so glad I tried and threw my hat (card) in the ring–what a thrill!

SO MANY THANKS to Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine. So. Many. Including our appreciation for hosting this WCMD hop.

I was super excited to hear this was my winning card, because I gotta tell ya, I really enjoy this one—the white, colored stripes, stitching, lines, this LF die and TT sentiment…eeek! Happiness! ๐Ÿ˜‰ The cardstock is pieced, sentiment die cut then inlaid. The panel is scored, forward and backward, and then stitched, matted, and adhered to a navy card base.

Made it, put it in the box, and mailed. Hence, I send a BIG Thank You to Stacy at PC&S for taking the time to photo this and send to me. Again furthering my admiration of this publication and all the great people who make it happen. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank You!

Instead of these cards being in the fourth issue of 2015, they are coming to you today, the fourth of December. Kind of fitting, but still incredibly sad the April issue will not exist. But, let’s stay on the happy today, shall we? Yesterday’s post and hop about did me in! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

You can follow my blog and leave me a comment below (by December 10th) telling me what your favorite part of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine is. I’ll pick one random winner to send a little Lawn Fawn sparkly surprise & a few bits of paper crafting fun out to…so check back after the 10th to see if it’s YOU! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hop on to Virginia’s blog next! Now she’s skilled–watch out!

Here’s the other WCMD winners–be sure to stop by and leave them a note! I know I can’t wait to see their winning cards and do so myself! One of the biggest perks of this win: Getting to know these crafty ladies! ๐Ÿ™‚
