Rock Candy

Today, I’m sharing a set of cards I made with the Happy Half Sheet design I whipped up! It’s fun to see it come together by making a card–and I can’t wait to see what everyone else makes with them too.

For today, I created this fun set using the Birthday Bash stamp set that is also in the bundle. Note, there are coordinating dies too, which will come in VERY handy, but for this, I went old school and just stamped! 🙂

These were such fun to make and super easy to boot–my fave! I just stamped up the Half Sheet of Sugar Cube card stock in the various colors with a stamping block. I highly recommend just using a stamping block vs. your MISTI to make this one-two-three and enjoyable. You can also use your MISTI, but I find that time consuming and not quite as much fun. I live on the edge sometimes–well, often when crafting. 😂

If you make an error in stamping, I wouldn’t fret too much and just keep going. You’d be amazed and what you don’t see once the sheet is cut up and or you can creatively put your sentiment right over that flub. shhhhh no one will know! 😉

I went all crisp Sugar Cube, of course, and mixed in some textures with Cutting Plates and Embossing Folders. It’s my favorite thing to do to create subtle texture, but not to distract from the main stay. It also keeps them from getting too busy, in my opinion.

And remember, white space doesn’t have to be WHITE per say, it’s just about creating some breathing room, no matter what your palette of colors is. 🙂

These would be great to make ahead and have ready for a New Year, right? The Simple Strips are the Simple Strips-Birthday. Always a mainstay!

Today is the New Color Release–Shades of Summer over at Taylored Expressions! Oh my–I do love new colors and I am infatuated with Pear 😄! The other two new colors are Rock Candy and Concord Grape! I have reached for Rock Candy a lot already too, but I’m warming up to Concord Grape. Being a purple, it takes us a bit longer go get acquainted–ha!!

First up, this enjoyable color combo might be my favorite for today! I used the Garden Variety- Fall and Simple Strips- Thanks. The background is created with the Pierced Grid Cutting Plate.

I love how these colors look together! 🙂 And in the heat of the current day, I already long for Fall. 😂 But that’s because I definitely prefer the cooler temps 🙂 Also, this might be only day two of heat😂🤣. We have had a cool start to Summer–so I’ve loved it.

I went a little splatter crazy, but I thought this one turned out fun! 🙂

Next up, I gave a go with the colors! I tried to get to a more masculine feel and this would work– I think? This is the A New Leaf Stencil and the Hello It’s Me stamp.

Not something I would normally make, so maybe that’s a good thing!? 🙂

I hope you enjoy the new colors over at TE today and love expanding your collection too! Now, I need to get the ink refills and more cardstock so I am really ready to roll!! 🙂
