Paper Smooches September!

I am extremely excited to take part in celebrating Paper Smooches September release! (I may have squealed a wee little bit! πŸ™‚ ) I am a big fan of Paper Smooches ❀ . That’s no secret though, especially if you saw my collection from over the years! Shhhh πŸ˜‰

I was able to use the new die set, Super Star dies! Of course, I enjoy its versatility completely.. Stars are always a good idea! Always! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_bang_00_wmThis PS release follows suit with every other one: Chock full of fantastic (and versatile) dies and sweet stamps. I love to mix them and use them in different ways. πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_bang_wmThese stars in a line speak to my graphic loving heart. So many possibilities. I kept this one slightly simple, with strips of card stock pieced and then die cut. I finished it off with some stamping from the Summer Sampler. I even attempted to make this all straight! Haaa! πŸ™‚

Naturally, I had to make a few more cards. Because: New dies, people. New. Dies. πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_awesomestars_wmThere are many different stars in this new set. Which makes me happy! For this card, I used the largest star, as well as the star frame. Such fun with some googley eyes! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_awesomestars_00_wmI also used the Awesome die. Literally and figuratively. πŸ™‚

Be sure to hop over to the Paper Smooches blog today to check out more September fun there! I’ll be back again this week, sharing a couple more cards I made with the new Super Star dies. You might find them, or these on the PS Blog today? Just sayin’. πŸ˜‰

Ginormous thanks to Kim for having me along this month! You continue to make the best things to create with! ❀

Thanks for popping by today!

You Make Me Melt

Having some more fun with the August Paper Smooches Challenge! πŸ™‚ Friendship!

These little Paper Smooches Popsicles make MY heart melt! Especially with googley eyes, they are so stinkin’ fun. So I made my bestest friend, my husband, a card. πŸ™‚ Shhhhh. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_me melt_00_wmI sorta bleached out the background with this photo. Go figure. But it is just a smattering of different watercolors, blended together. πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_me melt_wmPaper Smooches : Cool Treats dies. The sentiment is from: Summer Sampler. (<–awesome set to have. Just sayin’. πŸ™‚ ) I used the Smiley Face from Check this Out. The little Heart on her Popsicle head is from the Mom Word die. The cute little tie is from the Freezy Fella stamp set. The heart is from the Bees dies. It’s cards like these that make you realize how many fun goodies you have to pull from. πŸ™‚

I’m playing along again with the August Paper Smooches Challenge: Friendship. Check it out! This pic makes me just awwwwww!Β  πŸ™‚ You can find my first entry HERE.

love you, dude

Having some fun with the August Paper Smooches Challenge! πŸ™‚ Friendship!

I was apparently speaking *dude* last night ;)! Haaaaa!

hawkins_jill_love dude_00_wmI enjoy the greens and pink together. I pieced all the strips and die cut the Love. Then I inlaid that piece in another white die cut. I scored the card panel, stamped it, put it all together, and stitched it up! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_love dude_wmI figured this would be fun to send a good friend, or my husband will surely laugh and roll his eyes at me, if given to him. πŸ™‚

Paper Smooches : I Love You die and Word Salad.

I’m playing along with the August Paper Smooches Challenge: Friendship. Check it out! How can you resist this cute little pic of inspiration?! πŸ™‚

Smiles to the Teacher!

I had to make a card with Technique Tuesday’s new planner stamps! TT (and Teri! #TArules) had me at the smiling ruler! I mean, really. I am a fan. A big fan. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_teacher_wmThese stamps just make me happy. Is that so wrong? Nope. πŸ™‚ I watercolored these with my Zig markers and used some patterned paper for the card base. I must use more PP. Must. I have put a moratorium on obtaining anymore til what I have is gone. It will be dust by the time that happens. LOL.

hawkins_jill_teacher_00_wmThere are the NEW Planner Stamps HERE and HERE. Student and School! ❀ Oh and I used a fave: TT’s Clipboard die. And also: World’s Greatest and Sending Smiles.

Technique Tuesday is also having a fantastically fun week with Random Acts of Cardness! You can learn about it HERE. I’ll be sharing a couple snaps of some cards I made for this soon. (AND eventually a bunch of other TT cards I see I have not posted here yet? I send them to TT and forget to come back and write posts after the release happens. Blergh. I’ll catch up someday…right?)

Happy Back to School to all the kiddos and parents that are both happy and those that need BIG HUGS too! I’m in the later category. But eventually in both, I’m guessing! πŸ™‚

Oh [ginger]SNAP!

So while I was making THIS CARD the other night, this idea (below) percolated. There I was, last night, making it. I couldn’t resist! Sometimes I have to get these things out of my head! Anyone tired of the puns yet? NEVER! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_ginger snapped_00_wmI used Lawn Fawn’s Rooting for You stamp set. πŸ˜‰ I also used a face from the Donut Worry set again.

hawkins_jill_ginger snapped_wmI scored the card over and over to fill in the “white space”, and I LOVE how that turned out! I have always been a fan of scoring cards, but I don’t think I’ve ever done this much before? Anyway, I’ll likely be doing it again. Adds so much so simply! πŸ™‚

I stamped Harold’s ABCs for the sentiments and used A Birdie Told Me die cuts for the speech bubbles.

(The stitched Rectangle die is from My Favorite Things. Blueprints!! πŸ™‚ )

The current Lawnscaping Challenge is Punny!! So maybe I have it out of my system now? Doubtful. Vegetables reek puns! Someday, we’ll meet again. πŸ™‚ Haaaa!

Check out all the fun HERE!

Hello, Sunshine | MFT Sketch 294

Here’s my take on MFT Sketch Challenge #294! My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog! It’s so worth hopping over there to read Susan’s posts! You will not be disappointed. Ever. πŸ™‚photoGeesh, I almost missed this week’s sketch. I thought about it a few times and then bam, it’s Monday night! Phew. Squeaking in with this little number.

hawkins_jill_hello sunshine_wmI stamped and embossed some of the stamping. Then I watercolored in the image and background with my Zig markers, via an acrylic block. Sometimes, that just works better for me, depending on the look I’m going for.

hawkins_jill_hello sunshine_00_wmI mixed up the elements of the sketch a bit, since the chameleon had to be on the right, for tail purposes. πŸ™‚

Grrrrr…Steamed Vegetables! :)

Puntastic! This card makes me laugh! Who doesn’t love and avoid “steamed veges”? Haaaaa! πŸ™‚

I used Lawn Fawn’s Rooting for You stamp set. πŸ˜‰

hawkins_jill_steamed2_wmI also used faces from the Milk and Cookies set and the Donut Worry set. I needed *steamed* faces. Haaaaa! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_steamed2_00_wmI actually thought to make TWO cards at once this time, hence, here is the second. The only difference is the stitching. I couldn’t decide. Not much of a difference, but since I was doing the photos, I took both. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_steamed1_wmI used Harold’s ABCs for the sentiment. I cannot tell you how long these cards took me to make! πŸ™‚ I’m not even sure why they took sooo long. *rolls eyes at self*. Still laughing though–SO worth it. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_steamed1_00_wmAlso, I used the arrow from the Wish You Were Here die set! Perfecto!

(The stitched Rectangle die is from My Favorite Things. Blueprints!! πŸ™‚ )

The current Lawnscaping Challenge is Punny!! I absolutely HAD to get in on that! πŸ™‚ So glad I made it! Punny gets me every time. πŸ™‚Β  Check out all the fun HERE!

Thanks a Bunch!

I so enjoy making cards to send with Ellen Hutson’s All Inside stamp and die set. That cute little bear and the fonts are perfecto! Well, now this cutie has all sorts of things he can hold! If you saw my card HERE, you know I looooove this idea! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_thnxabunch_00_wmOh my word! This just makes me smile!! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_thnxabunch_wmI had the good fortune (and may have been a little excited!) to be randomly selected for the Ellen Hutson gift card last month, so I figured, it was a sign I should get the new Bear Ware and Warm Fuzzies! Right? Obviously. πŸ˜‰

I blended Distress Inks onto this panel. If I recall, the inks I used were: Fired Brick, Abandoned Coral, Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, and a little Carved Pumpkin to round it all out. Then I stamped the sentiment strip, and stitched it on. I used my Zig pens and Kuretake watercolors to color the bear and his wares. πŸ™‚

The colors I chose were inspired by the Pin Sights Challenge going on over at Ellen Hutson right now. As well as narrowing my choice to using the flowers first! See photo inspiration below. πŸ™‚

I also used a My Favorite Things die: Blueprints #13.

I’m entering this in the Essentials by Ellen August Pin-Sights Challenge.Check it out.

Banner-PIN-sightsAugustPinsightsHere’s a few other cards I’ve made recently with this set: HERE, HERE, and HERE.

Thanks for stopping by! And thank you all for leaving such warm fuzzies here on my blog recently. πŸ™‚ So kind!

i like you. a lot.

I sat down and messed up a few things. Then, I saw this unfinished project on my desk from the #thedailymarker30day …whooot! I thought, perfecto! πŸ™‚ I’ll wrap this ditty up!

hawkins_jill_i like you_wmThis card looks so vibrant in person, yet I cannot capture it on camera. Why is it so hard? *Rolls eyes*. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_i like you_00_wmI used Distress Inks and blended them on. And then Lawn Fawn’s Quinn’s ABCs to emboss over top. (This set is WELL loved here.) I was pleasantly surprised how this turned out. Because, after all, I used some purple. Haaaa! πŸ™‚

The Stitched Rectangle die is from My Favorite Things. Blueprints!! πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by–and I always thank you for dropping comments. So many kind words left here, and I appreciate them all. πŸ™‚

The busy summer rolls on here for another week! SO glad it does. And I’ll need a nap when summer break is over. πŸ™‚

Floral Goes

Are you sitting down? Because, here comes some flowers. From me. I’m pretty sure I do these Technique Tuesday stamps little justice, but I keep practicing! πŸ™‚ hawkins_jill_the best_wmThis is the Gallica Rose from the Greenhouse Society July release. I added some Wink of Stella pen to this, and while it does not photograph at all, it made this card quite pretty!

hawkins_jill_the best_00_wmIt is such a beautiful stamp. I need to practice more. πŸ™‚

I decided to take a different approach with the August Ritzy Mum stamp.

hawkins_jill_feel better_wmFor this one, I did a watercolor wash background, and let the flower stamp shine in black. There Greenhouse Society stamps are so detailed, that I quite enjoy them in just outline form.hawkins_jill_feel better_00_wmBe sure to hop over sometime and check out all the new Technique Tuesday releases. I cannot wait to get my hands on these NEW Planner Stamps HERE and HERE myself! πŸ™‚

Have a great week!
