It’s Christmas at Taylored Expressions!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… at Taylored Expressions! Today is the day for the Christmas release! Get out your jingle bells and let’s deck the halls!

First up, the big kahuna that has a bundle made for it! This is called the Deck the Halls Quad and boy does it ever deck the halls! For this I went a bit retro vintage (pretty sure I’m making up that category 😂)  Pink Champagne, Dijon, Mint Julep, Spearmint and Jalapeño.

Using the Foil It – Deck The Halls panels, that really upped the vibe of vintageness.

For the sentiments, I used the new Season’s Sweetings and the Season’s Sweetings Coordinating Dies on Jalapeño cardstock, with white heat embossing.

The backgrounds I splattered in both black and I used the Gansai Tambi – Starry Colors splatters. Which of course, don’t photograph, but they are pretty in person!

To finish them off, I used different colors of frames with the A2 Thin Frame Cutting Plate.

I love these sweet designs–and boom, four Christmas cards ready to go! It would be easy to simplify these a bit and create them in groups even swiftier! 🙂

Next up, let’s Sneak a Peek! This card uses the new Sneak A Peek sets.

This is created with the new Sneak-A-Peek Cutting Plate Stencil Combo and the Sneak-A-Peek Layering Stencil. All these little doors are fun!! They remind me of the advent calendar where you find the chocolate behind them. 🙂 I considered tucking money in mine–A quarter on down will definitely fit!

On the inside of the doors, I used the All Together Holiday, along with the All Together Holiday Coordinating Die that die cuts all the images in one swoop–which I am a SUPER FAN of! Not that it is a big deal to line up dies, but it does take time to stamp, color and tape everything down. This– 1-2-3 all cut! Big time saver to keep doing all the cards!

Eeep–I love that little Santa!

You can either use the stencil that comes with die as a guide, or lean in and blend on some inks like I did for background–extra festive surprises tucked back in there! 🙂

I also used the Sneak-A-Peek Sentiments to add some fun. I like the Sneak-A-Peek Sentiments and I think these are great for so many projects ahead–I love the font and the size–perfect for tags!

Last, but never least is the Peaceful Dove Stamp & Stencil Combo.

I also used the Peaceful Dove Coordinating Die which cuts out the dove perfectly, of course, but also adds lots of little etchings that make this dove that much more beautiful. I think I will be using this for sympathy cards for sure. It’s so peaceful.

I love the warmth of the Mushroom ink with the greens and pops of reds–it’s more gray than Toffee, and generally my go-to color for this type of coloring.

The sentiment I used is from the Jingle All The Way set and I also used the Jingle All The Way Coordinating Dies. I die cut the sentiment again with Black Licorice and off set it slightly to give it a shadow and make it stand out a bit more on the white dove. Just a little trick to make it pop slightly. 🙂

Heather Nichols created this wonderful set–and always, she creates amazing things!

The new Jalapeño ink has been used a lot around here–it goes coincide wonderfully with Christmas!

Taylored Expressions… NEW COLORS!

Today at Taylored Expressions there are NEW COLORS! And I don’t know about you, but I am always excited for NEW COLORS! It’s always so fun to combine with the old colors and get to know them more and more each project!

The new colors are:

  • Cinnamon
  • Huckleberry
  • Jalapeño
  • Sour Gummy

These come in all the things! Ink, cardstock, refills and envelopes and they are oh so good! Now, combining them with the existing colors puts everything into a new colorful stratosphere. SO FUN!

For this card, I used all the new colors: Cinnamon, Huckleberry, Jalapeño and Sour Gummy. I also used Rose Water and Dijon. I have to admit, I can’t say I’ve ever reached for a combo like this before, but I love the combo and the feel for fall!

Sour Gummy might be my new favorite color! It transcends both the blue and green categories into its own! 🙂 (My Jalapeño here photographed a bit lighter than I think it looks in person, but it was a rainy day if I recall–which makes all the photos a challenge!)

For the background here, I foiled the Foil It – Fineline Leaves with Champagne foil, which was the perfect compliment to this combo. The sentiment is from Foil It – All Together Occasions and of course, I used the All Together Occasions Coordinating Die to die cut that out.

I haven’t gotten to use the Snow Globe Builder Dies yet, so I did that with the Arched Stacklets to create a shaker card. Inside are all the fall leaves cut with the Garden Variety-Fall. This turned out delightful to me! (The shaker bits are Snow Flurries and the Bits & Pieces Rose Gold Stars (not in my supply list, but still available as of this morning 😉). I may have been overzealous and put too many leaves in because they don’t shake about too much, but they sure are pretty!

Next up, I focused on inks using masks of the Garden Variety-Fall leaves I cut from Post-It tape.

I used the Masking Stencils – Squares along with the masks I created and just masked the leaves off before blending inks all around them. I had this in my head after blending ink on the leaves for my snow globe and seeing the mat underneath with all the leaves “imprinted”. Reminded me of how you put the leaves in the sun on that special paper to leave in imprint. So hence, this card. 🙂

I came back with some score lines to create the frame and added a bunch of splatters and some stitching. The sentiment is from the Mini Strips – Floral stamp and voila, done! 😊😊

And last, but not least, I have been wanting to use the Buds & Blossoms Stamp and Stencil Combo for a long while, so I busted that out here:

The background is stamped in Cinnamon and the buds are blended in Huckleberry. The colors are pretty stuttle looking in this photo, but in person, I think they popped a bit more. The leaves are Mint Julep and Jalapeno, while the buds are Raspberry Sorbet/Pink Champagne and Sweet Potato Pie/Peaches ‘n’ Cream

The Thanks and sentiment is from the Big Thanks set (and Coordinating die). Of course, I used the Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate to frame it all out with the Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets for a subtle little framing detail too.

Oh and don’t forget to fill up on the Inkspiration cards again! Those are so fun and I love to cut the cardstock swatches to put on those. So tidy!

I can’t wait to keep working these new colors into things with all the existing colors–truly some great compliments to the  TE collection!
