Hero Arts May: My Monthly Hero Kit (+Giveaway)

Happy Monday! Exciting day today as I’m joining Hero Arts to celebrate the release of their May Monthly Hero Kit!ย  You can find the Hero Arts May Collection HERE and you can subscribe HERE.

Hopefully you have arrived here via the blog of Jessica Frost-Ballas HERE. If not, but sure to check it out, as I’m sure you don’t want to miss it! ๐Ÿ™‚ (And if you want to be sure to check out the Hero Arts Blog HERE of course for a full list! )

Today, I am using the Metallic Karin Markers in the kit as well as the Hero Arts stamp set and coordinating die set. Isn’t this little plane adorable? ๐Ÿ™‚

For this card, I created a wash using the Karin Markers. First, I masked off this space with some tape. Then I scribbled some of the ink out on a mat, added some water and brushed it over on some Bristol Paper, created a little gradient with the three colors. This kit is a great way to try out a few of these Karin Markers and decide if you need to add a few more to your collection. They sure are delightful!

I love this little message…on the inside, I’ll write the recipient’s name. ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up, I created this card using a the same concept but just blending on a bunch of colors together to create a watercolor centerpiece.

This sentiment is a great one and I thought it could definitely hold a card on it’s own!

The watercoloring warped the paper, as usual, and I felt it was better to let it roll. So I didn’t try and flatten it and adhere it flat. I am looking forward to mailing this one!

Next up, I did a blue water color wash with the Karin Marker before adhering this cute rainbow over top. This sentiment is another fave, especially given our current times. โค

I also added some flecks of paint to add a little interest to the background. And of course, some simple stitching.

Lastly, I created a wash with the pink Karin Marker. I colored the rainbow and then fussy cut it out to add on top of the wash.

This gradient look is soooo easily achieved with these markers, a small brush, and a little water.

Sending you Love! Perfect! I need to get this one in the mail too! ๐Ÿ™‚

I had such fun creating these cards with the Metallic Karin Markers and the cuteness of the May My Monthly Hero Arts kit! I hope you enjoy all the inspiration of so many great designers today! ๐Ÿ™‚

Buzzing by to say…

Hello –Happy Weekend! Thought I’d pop in and share a cutie new card I made using ย Honey Bee Stamps!!! You can find the whole of the NEW RELEASE HERE.

For this card, I used the new Unbeelievable Stamp and Coordinating die, Flower Centers Coverplate, Flower Petal Coverplate, and the new Buzz Stamp set. I also used a new favorite staple die set called A2 Thin Frames. Love these! (Previous, I used theย ย new Circle Thin Frames | Honey Cuts, and those are awesome too!)

Isn’t this new bee the cutest!!? awwwww.

I colored the bee with Copic Markers, and I have to say in this photo, the blending doesn’t look super. Fortunately in person, it looks a lot better! ๐Ÿ™‚ Pretty sure it was a dreary day when I photo’d this card. blergh. Anywho– I die cut all these elements and layered them up. I love them all in white. Delightful โค

Here’s the new Honey Bee Stampsย goodies I used with links:

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have some fun making cards withย Honey Bee Stampsย this weekend too!

Sending Happy Thoughts!

It is raining cats and dogs here for the next 24 hours at least, so I thought I’d pop in and share a few more rainbows using the new Rainbow Turnabout from Concord & 9th!

This rainbow stamp is called Rainbow Turnabout (you can find it HERE)! ๐Ÿ™‚ The sentiment is from the Tropical Vibes Turnabout stamp HERE.

I thought it would be fun to mix up the colors of inks this go round. I think they both turned out fun and just slightly different. ๐Ÿ™‚

A smidge of pastel/retro maybe? ๐Ÿ™‚

Once again, here is a Pro Tip from my friend Cheryl, that will change your world using this Rainbow Turnabout stamp:

Mount this stamp on a new cutting plate from your die cut machine or on the old Fiskars Stamp Press or the like. It works sooooo much easier than trying to use this turnabout on the Misti. My friends experienced many trials and errors with Misti and once we tried this plate thing: Ba Bam! So much easier! ๐Ÿ™‚ Genius, Cheryl!! โค

I’m going to pop these in the mail ASAP! ๐Ÿ™‚

I used my favorite Hearts from Paper Smooches HERE. It’s in the die set called Hearts. ๐Ÿ™‚ โค

The die around the outside that creates the lines is called Lawn Fawn: Just Stitching Double Rectangles Dies HERE.

Check out my previous Rainbow Turnabout stamp cards HERE and another C9 post HERE.

Supplies:

Thanks for stopping by today! I’m hoping to see a REAL rainbow after all this rain ends. Yikes!

Taylored Expressions: Teacher and Grad Release!

Welcome to another great release celebration forย  Taylored Expressions!ย All the new products will be available over at Taylored Expressions tomorrow, April 28th.

This release is full of goodness to celebrate Teachers and Grads! This year, I think the Graduates need a little extra love. So many events and celebrations of their last year have been cancelled. I can’t imagine what that feels like. And the teachers–goodness, they have been thrown for so many big loops! SO–let’s shower them with goodness!

This first card is a rainbow of goodness to thank my son’s teacher this year.ย  I used the new Tag Team Teacher set. I completely adore this pencil… really, this whole set! It coordinates with the Tag Dies and oh how cute I can make a bunch of those QUICK!

I used a plethora of TE Inks and just made quick work of this rainbow action, careful to clean the stamp with the Stamper’s Spritz cleaner well between each color.

I can’t wait to stamp a bunch with the set! It’s a good one that’ll I’ll be using A LOT! โค

Next up, I used the new Flip the Script-Grad, coupled with the new Inside Scoop Grad.ย  This little mortarboard works swimmingly with the cards in this release to create a stack of cards in a jiffy! I decided to use it on it’s own with the Masking Stripes stencil, just to mix it up a bit.

I used Blueberry ink with differently applied pressure using the TE Blender Brushes. It’s simple to create a gradient look if you just pay attention to what you’re doing. Sometimes if I am blending, and I get distracted, all the stripes end up basically the same tone. Ask me how I know… ๐Ÿ™‚ ha!

Here’s the inside of this card–the Inside Scoop Grad set has so many delightful sentiments of encouragement and inspiration! I just blended a little ink on the background there to give it a little something something. ๐Ÿ™‚

You can find all my supplies and links to the Taylored Expressions Shop below.

Rainbows of Kindness!

Hope you all are having a good day! I thought I’d pop in and share a few cards I made using the new Rainbow Turnabout from Concord & 9th! And then a few more cards… ๐Ÿ™‚

Always good stuff coming out from Concord & 9th! This set is called Rainbow Turnabout (you can find it HERE)! ๐Ÿ™‚

The sentiment is from the Sunshine Turnabout stamp HERE.

Love this sentiment! ๐Ÿ™‚

Pro Tip from my friend Cheryl, that will change your world using this Rainbow Turnabout stamp:

Mount this stamp on a new cutting plate from your die cut machine or on the old Fiskars Stamp Press or the like. It works sooooo much easier than trying to use this turnabout on the Misti. My friends experienced many trials and errors with Misti and once we tried this plate thing: Ba Bam! So much easier! ๐Ÿ™‚ Genius, Cheryl!! โค

And then there is Happiness! I know who I am sending this one to! ๐Ÿ™‚

I stamped the sentiment in Black Versafine and clear heat embossed over top. That is all on vellum.

The little heart strip I used I just love and it’s from Paper Smooches HERE. It’s in the die set called, again appropriately, Hearts. ๐Ÿ™‚ โค

Here is another set of cards I made recently with the C9 Rainbows. This is from the set called Brighter Days and you can get just the Brighter Days stamps HERE or the stamps and dies HERE.

I made these and mailed them out immediately. โค Love how quick they came together and I added some scoring and stitching, (shocking, I know!), and out the door!

And lastly, here is one more card I sent to say thank you for your kindness. I have really appreciated so many things from friends and family during this interesting time in our world. For this card, I used Concord & 9th’s Thank You for Being set HERE and Taylored Expressions Frame in Frame die HERE.

This one works great for mailing. ๐Ÿ™‚

Check out my previous C9 post HERE using theย Special Delivery set. Cute cute!

Sunny Days Ahead!

Today I am joining the fun over at Simon Says Stamp for the new Sunny Days Ahead release!! It’s a release to celebrate all the season is bringing!

I am using the NEW SSS Stencil called Grad Caps Stencil and you can find it HERE. I also used SSS Basic Rectangles dies–which really are a staple on my desk. ๐Ÿ™‚

I used Nuvo Glitter Paste (find it HERE) for the sparkle on the stencil after I blended on some light blue ink. It sparkles in such a fun way in person, but photos never quite capture it! ๐Ÿ™‚

I also used Concord & 9th’s Simple Serif Alpha Dies andย Paper Smooches New Beginnings 2 (for the small sentiment).

I think this turned out fun and a little different than a typical grad card. I am looking forward to popping in the mail next month. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are the Simon Says Stamp products and others I used again:ย

SSS Grad Caps Stencil

SSS Basic Rectangles dies

Honey Bee Stamps: 5 UnBEElieveable Years!

Hello –Happy Weekend! There is a new release over at Honey Bee Stamps!!! It full of fun birthday goodies and SO much more! It’s full of Birthday because Honey Bee Stamps is celebrating their Fifth Birthday!! Happy Birthday to Honey Bee Stamps!!

Check out all the happenings and start on the hop by heading over to the Honey Bee Stamps blog HERE. ๐Ÿ™‚

Today, I am sharing the new Circle Thin Frames | Honey Cuts and the new Friend stamp set. This quickly turned into one super fun card that I cannot get enough of! The bonus is: I have all these circles cut now to make so many more! ๐Ÿ™‚

This is just the coolest new die!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I die cut this from all different colors of cardstock and then pieced them all together. There are 22 circles, if I am not mistaken. I know this because every time I cut a color, I would flip them over and number them from the inside out with a pencil on the backside. It does save time when you then want to piece them all together. I usually just wing it and grab them as I go, but this was a much speedier process. I think I only used 19 layers on this card though. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I then added this sentiment from the Friend stamp set. I thought it would be fun to arrow it to the center. Something different! ๐Ÿ™‚

This card is fun to send for any day, don’t you think? ๐Ÿ™‚

Giveaway! **Honey Bee Stamps be offering a $25 Gift Card as a giveaway. Be sure to hop & comment to be entered for a chance to win!***
