Christmas In July from Scrapbook.com!

Happy Weekend to everyone! Hope you are enjoying some time to relax and maybe make something this weekend? I have been busy celebrating Christmas in July with some fun goodies from Scrapbook.com! I am always happy to have things done and ready and ahead of time and Holiday cards ready to go in July–the best! There is a BIG Christmas In July sale HERE! Be sure to hop over there ASAP so you don’t miss it!

I worked with lots of fun products and new to me products from Scrapbook.com and I’m here today to share the scoop. Let’s get to some cards, shall we? For these first two cards, I used the Slimline Christmas Foliage and Merry Sentiments. I also had fun using the Pops of Color to create the dimensional dots.

This Slimline Christmas Foliage stamp is FULL Slimline Size, but I thought it would be fun to stretch it, literally, and instead get two 4 bar cards out of it. ๐Ÿ™‚

First, I stamped the using different ink colors and after I used the Pops of Color, letting them dry before moving forward.

I stamped the Merry Sentiments and added them to another backer piece before stitching them together.

These were fun to make!

Next up, I wanted to use the Fa La La in the Slimline Christmas Foliage stamp set and I thought a little rainbow action for the holidays would be fun.

I inked these up using different colors to create an ombre rainbow look.

I also used the Mint Tape here. This tape is intended as a tool for project making, as it is a low tack tape that won’t stick when you don’t want it to. However, I โค the color, so I used it on this card! Shhhhhh don’t tell anyone. ๐Ÿ™‚

I finished them both off with a little scoring and stitching. These are perfect for mailing because they are flat and easy to create in multiples.

Last up, I thought it would be cool to make a Christmas card that we all know is only for this season–dating it with the current year! So easy to do. This would be even better if you added a cutie pic of your kid(s) or family.

For this card, I used the Snowflakes Stencil andย Classic Type: Numbers and Characters. I die cut these from the Christmas Smooth Cardstock Paper and layered them on with foam tape.

To ink on the Snowflakes Stencil, I used the Ink Blending Tool with Domed Foam. This is my new favorite little tool–love the dome shape! I added some white dots with a white gel pen for extra fun before stitching it all together to finish it off. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh and the Merry Christmas is from the Merry Sentiments. I got a lot of use out of this small set!

I love having a stack of cards ready to go! Hopefully you are inspired to get your holiday cards started too and take advantage of the great sale at Scrapbook.com NOW!

Here are direct links to items I used to create these cards–check them out at Scrapbook.com:

Thanks to Scrapbook.com for having me along to celebrate this “Holiday Season”. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Such fun!

Summer of Stamping from Ellen Hutson

I’m popping in today to share another card using the new Summer of Stamping set It’s a Jungle ย  from Ellen Hutson. I always enjoy the EH Summer of Stamping, and this year is no exception. You can find all the New Ellen Hutson Summer of Stamping Release HERE.

My card here today uses the new It’s a Jungle and It’s a Jungle dies to create this card. I really wanted to use the sentiment in the set that says “The Tribe Has Spoken”, so I’m going to need to do that one soon too. ๐Ÿ™‚

For this card, I masked off this area and blended on Distress Oxide inks. I love how smooth those backgrounds always turn out! I stamped and colored a bunch of the different elements in this set and then just tinkered around layouts using different ones. The perk of this is that I still have pieces to use that are already colored. ๐Ÿ™‚

Tropic it like it’s hot–Too funny! I finished this card off with a few splatters of paint and some simple stitching and voila! This is a fun one to pop in the mail to a friend.

**If you missed my post earlier this week, be sure to click HERE and pop over to see THOSE cards. Lots more to see there too! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s the link to the full New Ellen Hutson Release for the Summer of Stamping HERE. Quick recap of the goodies I used this week–all with direct links below to find with ease:

Be sure to also check out the Ellen Hutson blog this week, as I am sure they are sharing lots more goodness there!

Thanks again for stopping by! It’s been great fun to share this release with you and another ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’›ย  shout out to Team Ellen Hutson for having me along– Thank you!! โค

Merry Blooms Kit from Taylored Expressions–Merry Merry!

Today, there is a NEW Kit available over atย  Taylored Expressions and it is VERY Merry! And very Bloomy. Is that a word? It is now. ๐Ÿ˜„! This kit is the perfect scenario if you just want to create a good stack of cards and get ahead for your holiday card mailings. It’s all there for you, you just need ink! ๐Ÿ™‚

I decided to try out a couple different things with my cards here today.

First up, let’s talk about this card, because I think it might very well be my favorite! ๐Ÿ™‚ It is so different from anything I have made and honestly, I’m not entirely sure how it happened. ha!

For these flowers, I used the following ink colors, blended on with TE Blending Brushes: Sea Salt, Salt Water Taffy, Confetti Cake, Potato Chip and Mushroom. I started first with the Sea Salt adding that down to create kind of a base and a good white shadow, if you will. On top of that I went very lightly with the other colors. I have seen blue poinsettias, but I am not entirely sure about them, so I gave these a white with a tinge of blue hue.

I used the stamps in the Merry Blooms Clear Stamp set to add all the details to the individual pieces. For the leaves, I inked the background stamp with a bunch of different greens and even some yellow.

The sentiment is from the Clearly Crafty Joyful Season stamp set and then I used the coordinating dies (which need to be purchased separately from the kit) to die cut it out before adhering with a couple layers of cardstock underneath.

I added this vellum frame using the Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets and the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. I am digging how this turned out. It is not only full of holiday cheer, but it also says winter to me–cozy winter! The good kind of winter. ๐Ÿ™‚

I finish everything off with some stitching and Clear Drip Drops.

Next up, I made a few tags using the Pierced Tag Stacklets and added one to the TE Clear Treat Boxes. For these I went to more of a traditional holiday red, using lots of different TE Reds and pinks. I even used Mulled Wine, which I admittedly do not use too often, so that’s always fun for me!

I white heat embossed these little sentiments on some strips of Sweet Basil cardstock. Looking forward to using these tags at the holidays for sure!

On these tags and both of my cards, I also used the Spattered Background and white heat embossed that. I like how it gives it a snowy wintery look. I could use this background on most every card, I think. โค

Lastly, I have this card, using more of a Spearmint looking set of leaves. I also used Mint Julep. This green combo is delightful.

I added some Silver Glitter to the center of these Poinsettias. Again, I also used the Spatter Background with some Mushroom ink to add little extra bit of goodness. I used the Frame in Frame die to create this panel. I added a nest of silver thread behind the sentiment to tie into the silver glitter. So festive!

Of course, I love these envelope colors in this kit and the stickers. Always the stickers. But I’m going to need some more Dijon envelopes. How do I not have these already?

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions. Here’s the TE scoop:

Hereโ€™s everything included the Merry Blooms Kit โ€“ which is available for $69:

  • Merry Blooms Stamp, Stencil, & Clear Combo set
  • Perfect Poinsettia die collection
  • Clearly Crafty Joyful Season stamp set
  • Bits & Pieces โ€“ Red Pearl & Gold Drip Drop Mix
  • 6 A2 Envelopes: Sugar Cube, Toffee, Cherry Pop, Mulled Wine, Djion, and Cilantro
  • Packaged in a zippered pouch with a custom kit label

Limited quantity available. Most items not available to purchase individually.

You will be able to purchase additional envelope packs, envelope seals, the new Bits & Pieces โ€“ Red Pearl Drip Drops, and the Joyful Season die collection separately.

PLEASE NOTE: The Joyful Season die collection (for the sentiments) is an add-on purchase that is available to purchase separately. It is not a part of the kit.

Summer of Stamping: Ellen Hutson New Release!

Exciting day today over at Ellen Hutson–It’s a new week in the Summer of Stamping! Just fun summery goodness available now! And I made a few cards to kick things off.ย  You can find all the new (and goodies released last week!) in the New Ellen Hutson Summer of Stamping Release HERE.

Let’s get to some projects, shall we?! First, let’s start with this fun little number made with the new Aloha set (and Aloha dies) and the new Tilt ‘N Rock dieย interactive die set, all of course by the talented Julie Ebersole. Julie strikes again! ๐Ÿ™‚

I toyed around with using all the of the fun little scenic pieces in this set and then ended up with this simple design to keep the focus on her little sashaying moves! ha! ๐Ÿ™‚ Here’s a little video of her shaking her grass skirt on my Instagram post: jilldhawkins .

I created the background using different Distress Oxide inks after masking off a rectangle to work within using Post It notes.

Here’s two little snap shots of how she looks in motion with the Tilt ‘N Rock die.

So fun and SUPER easy to make. You just need a penny along with the Tilt ‘N Rock die.ย ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up, I used the New Mondo Anthurium set (and Mondo Anthurium die) to create a few cards. I actually made five of them, but I figured you all are picking up what I’m putting down with seeing three of them. ๐Ÿ™‚

First I cut strips of brightly colored cardstock and pieced those all together. I was going to just mix up the order of the rows all different, but I decided to keep them all the same to ease our eyes when they are together. ๐Ÿ™‚

This first one, I stamped the Mondo Anthuriumย and white heat embossed with before die cutting it out. I added some stitching to the base panel and then lined up the Mondo Anthuriumย to match an adhered it with foam tape. I finished it all off with some clear bits from my stash and a simple Mahalo!

This one might be my favorite!

Next, I kept things a little more simple adding in the Hero Arts Infinity Nesting Postage Stamp dies to create panels.

I added some embossed lines to the card base and some stitching to the panels and done! ๐Ÿ™‚

Such fun and these cards make me feel like I am vacationing amongst the tropical leaves of Hawaii! If only. โค

NEW Mini Slim Essentials from Taylored Expressions!

Taylored Expressions has a New Release today and it is of all things MINI SLIM!! It’s a fun new Mini Slim Essentials Release and it’s full of add-ons to really add some details to our Mini Slim cards!

First up, there is some new little stamps in town that I added onto this Mini Slim Tri-Fold Card. This is the new Tutti Fruttiย set and it is SO cute! I used the previously released Mini Slim Trifold Template + Dies – Circle with the Mini Slim Trifold card base from TE.

I mean really. These fruits just make me happy! And I added some googley eyes for extra fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

To create the front of this tri-fold, I used the previously released Masking Stencil – Mini Slim Rectangle along with the new Mini Slim Stencil – Wonky Dots. I used Cilantro, Granny Smith, Lemon Meringue and Pineapple to blend.

I die cut the circles using both and then added the two sizes to create a uniform look from the front. I think it turned out kinda fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

This is the second layer, if you will. I used the new Mini Slim Thin Frame Cutting Plate to create this fun little border stripe. I cannot wait to use these more and create lots of stripey goodness! The thinness of the frame is going to be great to use for many things.

For this layer, I used the Go with the Flow stencil and the same color combo to blend. The little hearts are from the Little Bits – Hearts die.

The inner most layer, I used the Mini Slim Stencil – Wonky Dots again, this time in Cupcake. And a Cilantro frame from the Mini Slim Thin Frame Cutting Plate. These trifold cards are always fun to make in the end and I imagine getting one would be thrice as nice! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up, I have a pink little number with a new friend from the Tickled Pink Stamp & Stencil Combo. The tropically delightful stencil is the new Mini Slim Stencil – Tropical Leaves. For this one I blended on Cookie Monster, Sprinkles, Granny Smith, Cilantro and Pineapple. I used the Mini Slim Trifold Template + Dies – Hexagon to create the window, but this time wonky.

I also used the Masking Stencils – Mini Slim Scalloped Rectangle again. I guess I like that clean edging look. Who knew? ๐Ÿ™‚

The sentiment is from the same set and you open it up to find a rainbowtasticness surprise! This one is a Top Fold Mini Slim. Which, unless you have a lot of 12 x 12 heavy weight cardstock around, I’d definitely recommend ordering a pack from TE to use. I do not have 12 x 12, so I am so glad they started offering these. ๐Ÿ™‚ย  AND the tri-fold pre-made cards: ๐Ÿ’›!!

At first I was just going to rainbow the Flamingo, and then I thought–might as well go all in with the background too! So I lined up the stencil to match the front and did just that! ๐Ÿ™‚

This one is definitely different, but I like it! I would either add a note to the back or just sign my name with a quick note somewhere inside here. ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, you may have noticed the new Mini Slim Scalloped Envelope Liner! AHHHHHHH– love this die! The TE Creative team did such fun things with it that you definitely want to check it out. For some reason, I went very basic using some Toffee to line the envelope. But stencils and colors are all so fun to add a little more spunk!

Here’s the details from TE:

Taylored Expressions: Very Cherry Kit!

Today, there is a NEW Kit available over atย  Taylored Expressions. This one is moving into my top faves very quickly because it is not only sweet and delightful, but it is so easy to use and create lots of fun cards. And it seems my recent mission is to create a stack of cards all at once and have them ready to use, so this Very Cherry Kit is really helping me on that mission. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

First up, let’s talk Rainier Cherries. I LOVE to eat these little summer gems and have yet to have a single one yet this year. How is that possible? Well, anyway, I decided I would create them on a card instead.

I wasn’t entirely sure how to do this, so I just went for it using Potato Chip, Pinkย Champagne, and Guava on the cherries. I love how they turned out in the end. At first I was thinking the lines of ink were bugging me, but then I embraced it and now I want to recreate this effect. ha!

I wish I had stamped a few more of these at the same time. But I did create a few backgrounds, so I can fill them in easy enough someday soon! I used the overlapping sweet little heart stencil and blended on some Gumball ink. It was a risk because I wasn’t entirely sure I would like the blue hearts. Thank goodness I loved the result! Phew! ๐Ÿ™‚ I die cut that panel with the Frame in Frame 2 die (shocker, I know!). I die cut the Open Scalloped Circleย in Blueberry and then stamped the sentiment on Vellum to put that in the center. This card took a little more time than the following two, but I thought it was well worth it and plan to do it again…now that I’ve done the harder work to figure it all out. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Next up, I have these sweet little Thank You cards. I love the simplicity of these cherries and how you don’t need to add too much to make them shine.

I die cut the Petite Scallop Square Stacklets to create that panel before adding the Open Scalloped Circle die from the kit. I also added several scoring details to all these pieces to give a little texture on each piece of background.

I think these could be simplified even further if you wanted or I think even making them verbatim wasn’t that intensive. I have a pile of cherries stamped and ready to go on my desk, so I might just go ahead and make a few more of this design. ๐Ÿ™‚

To polish it all off, I added some stitching and Clear Drip Drops. Oh and the stickers!!! Ahhhhhh I always adore the stickers. I have quite a stash of them now, because I rarely send a card out without them. So now, I need to grab a few more of these sweet cherry stickers too! Especially for all my summer cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions. Here’s the TE ๐Ÿ’ scoop:

Hereโ€™s everything included the Very Cherry Kitโ€“ which is available for $65:

  • Very Cherry Cling & Clear Combo set
  • Very Cherry stencil
  • Clearly Crafty Cherry on Top stamp set
  • Cherry on Top die collection
  • Open Scallop Circle die
  • 6 Custom Envelope Seals
  • 6 A2 Envelopes: 2 each of Cherry Pop, Strawberry Milkshake, and Peapod
  • Packaged in a zippered pouch with a custom kit label

Limited quantity available. Most items not available to purchase individually.

Oh and a quick little note–If you haven’t seen the July gift with $100 purchase over at Taylored Expressions this month yet, I thought I’d share here. It is a SUPER FUN one! It’s called the Summer Vibes Background and it is a summertastic red rubber background that is TOO FUN to stamp! ๐Ÿ™‚ You can find the details HERE.

And I had to make two cards! If I had more time that day, I could have make a dozen! โค

Summer FUN from Taylored Expressions!

Taylored Expressions has a New Release today and it is full of SUMMER fun, Glittery Goodness, COOL things and cute little treats! ๐Ÿ™‚ There are a rainbow of TE colors available in Loose Glitter (Lollipop, Cherry Pop, Candy Corn, Peapod, Cookie Monster, Jelly Donut, Pearl, Silver, Gold and Oreo) now and it all can be adhered and enjoyed with the new Glitter Grab!

First up, I used the new Sweet Scoops and Building Blocks-Cool Additions. These Sweet Scoops are so easy to use and quite frankly, make you want a scoop or two! ๐Ÿ™‚

You can create any ice cream flavor your sweet tooth desires! I made Mint Chocolate Chip (Mint Julep and Mushroom) and Sorbet and one of my favorites was how the Vanilla turned out! I never thought I could stamp white ice cream and with Sea Salt and a touch of Mushroom for the shading–success! ๐Ÿ™‚ To give a little extra fun and sparkle, I used the new Pearl Glitter from TE. Alllllllllllllll the colors are so dynamic, but somehow I used the most muted one in Pearl. Ha! It just gives a subtle kick, which is what I wanted on these yummy scoops.

I added everything to the Pierced Lattice Cutting Plateย background that I trimmed out with the Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets, of course. And allย  the fun sentiment blocks are from the Building Blocks-Cool Additions.

Next up, I used the Anything is Popsicle Stencil and Stamp Combo along with the Sun’s Out dies to create this totally chill card. I think those popsicles were begging for shades, so I answered the call ๐Ÿ˜Ž. I glittered those cuties up with the new Oreo Glitter and let me tell you, in person, SUCH fun to see that little pop of sparkle!

This fun sentiment is from the new Mini Strips- Hello Summer. I just embossed that in White on Oreo Cardstock. The simple background I created using the Mini Simple Strips-Hello Summer . I used some Lemon Meringue ink in combination with Cookie Monster. I die cut the panel all out the Mini Slim Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. This one would be fun and easy to make several cards to mail out this summer!

Lastly, we gave out a few ice cream gift cards to our little friends here, so I created these little Gift Card holders using the Tag Pocket.ย  For these, I used the larger Sweet Scoops Ice Cream cone and mixed up my flavors even more to create Rainbow Sherbet. TOO fun! I love all those little extra stamps for the ice cream cones and the shading on the scoops. They add soooo much so simply to the already stenciled parts. I’m a big fan of the stencils to create these fun shades of ice cream.

Hello Summer! This sentiment is from the Anything is Popsicle set.

I tried to keep these pretty simple because I was limited on time, but I think they would be super fun with the new TE Glitters and some googley eyes too!

I added a little bit of twine to each. Also, I embossed the Lots of Stars folder (that is retired–eek sorry!) but the Lots of Dots Embossing Folder is a great stand in. Gives it that little extra pizzazz fairly easily. ๐Ÿ™‚

And now, I want some ice cream in a cone again! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s the scoop from TE: (see what I did there? bwwwaaaahaaahaaa!)

Get the glitter party started with our All That Glitters Glamour Box! This bundle is a $60 value for $50 and is available now through Sunday, June 20th. The TE All That Glitters Glamour Box includes: 10 โ€“ 1 oz jars of fine loose glitter (Lollipop, Cherry Pop, Candy Corn, Peapod, Cookie Monster, Jelly Donut, Pearl, Silver, Gold and Oreo) + a 4 oz. jar of TE Glitter Grab.ย The discounted bundle price is only available through Sunday, June 20th.

4th of July Release from Taylored Expressions!

Taylored Expressions has a New Release today and it is full of Summer Goodness–it’s the 4th of July Release! ๐Ÿ™‚ It not only celebrates all things patriotic, but it also gives us products to thank those who are serving and have served. And of course, if you take a step back and imagine all the things in different colors, they can be used for many occasions beyond the patriotic theme. ๐Ÿ™‚

First up, we have Mr. Uncle Sam. Can we call him Mr. Uncle Sam? Not sure, but either way, these cutie little images in the Uncle Sam Stamp & Stencil Combo that Heather whipped up are perfect to celebrate!

This set is similar to those in the past, with a larger red rubber background stamp and then the stamps to fill in all the little things super easy. You do NOT need to color–love that! I mean, I love to color, but there is something satisfying about just stamping in all the fills and done! ๐Ÿ™‚ And there are A LOT of fills to choose from. I stamped out a whole bunch, and then I ended up using three with the same top of hat fills in the uppermost row. How does that happen? haaaa! I finished this off with some stitching and some Drip Drops for added 4th of July sparkle and done! ๐Ÿ™‚

I created the background with the Full Circle-Patriotic stamp white heat embossed. I die cut that circle out with the Stitched Circle Stacklets. To create the card base, I cut strips of cardstock and then die cut that with the Petite Scallop Square Stacklets. I popped everything together with some foam tape and added some Drip Drops for interest and boom, Happy 4th of July! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up, there is a SUPER fun new Rotating Stencil called: Superstar Rotating Stencil…go figure! ๐Ÿ™‚ This gives the look of several layered stencils but with only ONE stencil! You just blend in your colors and rotate. Repeat four times and whammo! Done!

I thought it would be fun to veer off the patriotic path and make a sweet card, perfect for our son! Of course, I pulled out Gus & Gertie to help this task be executed. The NEW Building Blocks sentiments from the Building BlocksBrave Editions helped this come together in a flash!

I used lots of colors to make this extra STARtastic! Cherry Pop, Candy Corn, Lemon Meringue, Cilantroย and Blueberry.

To finish off the panel, I used the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets, along with the Diagonal Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. I love how sweet this turned out! โค
