Taylored Expressions-Scattered Blooms!

I can’t even believe it, but it is the end of March and that means a new Cardmaking Kit over  at Taylored Expressions!! The ease of this Scattered Blooms Kit and the lovely flowers one can create so easily is going to make you go all 😍😍! It did me! 🙂

First up –I just love how these colors came together on the Scattered Blooms stencil layers and how it turned out! 🙂 When you have a new set, you’re never quite sure what you’re creating til it all comes together. And I never chuck anything (I don’t have time for that silliness 😂), so I’m always hopeful. This is was a delightful result!

First I foiled the Scattered Blooms Foil it with Dark Blue Foil and then I blended all the colorful layers on.

And the Big Hugs die is awesome–don’t forget to snag the Big Hugs Backer, if you’re interested. I can all but guarantee you’re going to want that. But I do love it is not included in the kit, because things like that surely keep the price down for us–and then you personally have the choice to order or not. 🙂

The Simple Strip is from the Simple Strip-Friendship set. I wish I had blended a few more of these when I made this one! Always the way. 🙂

Next up, I went with the pinks and purple-ish colorway and I must say, I was not disappointed! For this, I used a Pink Foil and then blended and die cut the flowers. I absolutely love how the Scattered Blooms Die not only is easy to align and cut these out, but how it makes this letter press like impression etch on the flowers! The details!! 😍

I thought this would make a pretty Mother’s Day Card, so I used the Get the Word Out-Mother’s Day stamp and die.

The background was created with the Masking Stencil-Square and Sour Gummy ink with a VERY light hand!

I love how this one turned out too! I’m hoping to make a few more cards with this kit this week! 🙂

New Release from TE!

Taylored Expressions has a New Release today that includes products for Mother’s Day and includes a lot florals. Really, these can be used alllllll the days! 🙂

The BIG NEWS is there is something exciting today–THE MINI SLIM TRIFECTA!! It is technically called The Triple Slim: In the Garden. It is AMAZING!!

This is in the same vein as the Create in Quads series, but this creates Mini Slims and it creates three lovelies! And you use the same Create in Quads cardstock as used for the A2 size card creations.

I used about 15 colors for these cards– you’re going to want to refer to my supply list below for details. I blended all the inks on around and around!

I love how these cards turned out! SO lovely and fun!

Next up is the new Planting Happiness. Heather Nichols created this set and I colored all the flowers but then ended up using just one. Ha! Funny how that works!

This is a blend of Cookie Monster, Blueberry and Blue Corn. I used the Masking Rectangle for this panel along with the Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets.

The sentiment is from Love & Hugs white heat embossed and die cut out. I added some Clear Drip Drops.

Next up is the Flower Patch Background + Layering Stencil + Get the Word Out-Mother’s Day. This is a super quick little ditty bc while it looks colored, it really is just filled in with stencils. For this card I stamped the background in Honey which was a different thing for me. Definitely different, but I like the way this card turned out in the end!

This is a sweet card already to go!

Here’s the scoop from TE:

Taylored Expressions: Mom Release!

We are celebrating all the Moms over at  Taylored Expressions today. It’s a lovely release that can be used for many occasions AND people, even other than Mom. ❤

First up today, I am using the new Dear Mom and new Gathered Greenery.  The boldness of this font and the size of this sentiment lends itself to a lot of different techniques! For this card, I kept it pretty simple stamping the background, color blending, and then embossing the sentiment over it.

I did use sort of an ombre inking technique on the Gathered Greenery background while stamping it. I used all the colors on the stamp, as I learned that would give me the look I wanted vs. stamping it all in one color. It just takes a little more patience and you want to be sure to put your yellow ink on first etc.

I thought this turned out quite happy! And the funny part is inside…

bwwwwwaaahahahahaa!!

Next up, we have Pretty Posies. I actually used this flower upside down and made it into a cone flower vs. a posie! ha! How’s that for stretching your supplies?

For the background, I used the Mini Slim Cable Knit stencil, blending on Lemon Meringue, Pineapple, Grannie Smith and a touch of Cilantro!

Lastly, I wanted to try the kissing technique with the bold font of the Dear Mom, in combination with the new Gathered Greenery. It worked out so well!

First I stamped the Dear Mom in all the different colored inks in a solid. Then, once again, I inked the Gathered Greenery with multiple inks to create a rainbow sherbet background.

The last color I used was Honey and I didn’t blend it super well, but I went with it all anyway. 🙂

The Perfect Parent sentiments are too funny for the inside (or outside) of the cards!

All these products are available now over at Taylored Expressions.

New from Technique Tuesday!

It’s May!! WHOAH! Did that sneak up or what? I’m sure I say this every month, but maybe it’s that every month goes faster and faster now? Ha!

Well, get ready or not, because there are lots new stamps and dies from Technique Tuesday today! They can be found HERE!

There is a fun new owl in town. This is the Happy Day Owl set. So cute and succinct. 🙂

I kept this one pretty simple, using the flower from the set as a pop of color! This guy is a happy new edition to all the little owl sets that can be found HERE.

Here is the new Flowers for Mom die (check it out HERE) . I think this flower is whimsy and fun!! I need to use it in a brighter fashion next! 🙂 This one i colored quickly with Copic markers and then went back in with a bunch of little pixels. I feel like I missed a spot! LOL 🙂

This sentiment, from the Mom’s Day set, is fantastic because to me it is two-fold. Both that my Grannie IS the Greatest Grandmother, and that she is also the Greatest Grandmother to my son. ❤ See how that works there! 😉

For this card, I also used my go-to fave, the Memo Pad Die. I use this one, A LOT!

Be sure to hop over and check out the new stuff from Technique Tuesday HERE!  🙂

Hope your May is full of fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Take care- Jill 🙂

April: Technique Tuesday!!

Happy April! It’s no joke that there are lots new stamps and dies from Technique Tuesday today! They can be found HERE!

This new Mother’s Day set, Flowers for Mom, is simple and fun to use! I love this flower! ❤ ! And I have a difficult time using flowers, so this is a big win for me!

I colored these with Prismacolor colored pencils after heat embossing the images.

Love the simplicity. There is also a great die, Flowers for Mom die (check it out HERE) that will be fun to use in conjunction with this set and several others. ❤

I made this next card with the new Memory Keeper’s stamp set, Priceless. It’s got lots of stampy goodness included.

For this card, I masked off the border and used Distress Inks to watercolor, Patiently waiting for it to dry is the hardest part. I want to keep messing with the colors and moving them around. But the trick is to stop and let it DRY! 🙂 I used foam tape to pop up the middle of this sentiment banner, giving it a bowed look. I made this card to give for Mom’s day too. Moms are truly priceless. 🙂

Be sure to check out the new stuff from Technique Tuesday HERE! I am looking forward to making a few more things to share later this month 🙂

Wishing you a BRIGHT April!! Thanks for stopping by! ❤

Throwing Down! :)

A fun month ahead, as I have the pleasure to Guest over at the Color Throwdown this month!

Color Throwdown

I love seeing my IG feed on Wednesdays because of the consistency of color cards these ladies post for this challenge! (That yellow and blue last week… <3!)

Here are this week’s colors for #391:

IMG_5532Oooo that ^ says nothing but SPRING! 🙂

Here’s my take:

hawkins_jill_happymom_wmMother’s Day is this Sunday and I’m suddenly hoping no Mother in my family reads my blog, because: Spoiler Alert! 😉

hawkins_jill_happymom_00_wmThese flower circles are made with the newly released Beautiful Bouquet from Technique Tuesday. This stamp would be perfecto for wedding cards! I mean, perfecto! Quick and easy, or get in there, and get your detail on! 🙂

I stamped the bouquet and die cut it into circles. Then I chose to do a quick watercolor with the CTD colors. The hardest part is arranging the circles, right!? 🙂

I also used these two Technique Tuesday sets for the sentiment: Be Happy (<–awesomesauce) and Mom’s Day.

Be sure to hop over and see what their whole team made! Sure to be happiness with these colors! 🙂
